Excellent location, super convenient! It's just a 2-minute walk from the Shinkansen exit to the hotel. You pass by a food street with all sorts of restaurants on the way. You take the escalator up to the 4th floor to check in. On the 4th floor, there's a lounge exclusively for guests where you can enjoy free coffee and juice. There's also a gym, and the view is quite nice. The room is spacious enough for two people. And the Gyutan (beef tongue) street inside the station? A perfect 100%! ๐ฏ
The hotel's elevated location offers stunning views even from the lower floors. Four rooms have private baths (loan-kiri-furo), each with a unique style. The semi-outdoor baths are very airy. The large public baths are both indoors and outdoors, and soaking in the fresh air is highly recommended. The hotel also offers a full range of amenities for women, and the breakfast is very thoughtful. The hotel also hosts various events for festivals, such as fishing for snacks and fairy wand experiences.
Everyone especially cleaning workers polite & helpful. Room small but locution great & toilet well equipped & clean. Lots of restaurants around. The local market nearby is a must-go. One minus though, counter staff can't easily understand our requests. Sendai is a great place but English is not a common tool for communication.
Nice modern business hotel convenient located close to Sendai Station with a starbucks and convenient store located on the ground floor. The hotel is also within 1 min walk to the Sendai Morning Market where there is nice ramen. I stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very clean and modern.
Nice Sea view and onsen. Great variety of seafood buffe and breakfast but taste was acceptable. There is hotel shuttle bus service but the last bus was before 6 pm. The JR station has no staff and does not have any escalator or elevator so beware that you need to carry luggage up and down the stairs. It's out of GO service area but there was taxi waiting in front of the station.
Absolutely perfect, fantastic value for money, and truly exceptional service. The lobby also offered complimentary free-flow beer, red, and white wine. This was hands down the most comfortable stay of our entire trip โ I absolutely loved it! Its location is superb, just a five-minute drive from the main shopping street.
The hotel is very near to the outlet mall. The mall has many shops and drugstore and almost every things you need. The breakfast is great ๐ with many varieties. Thanks for the wonderful experience. Highly recommended
Although it was a cheap plan, the room was clean and spacious, and it was too spacious for just two people.
The room was fully equipped, with a toilet, a bath, and a small sink separate from the washbasin.
You can bathe at the group facility Kounkaku and the nearby Takinoyu for free, which was very satisfying for hot spring lovers.
There was also a free shuttle to the parking lot, and the service was excellent. The crab at dinner was the firmest and most delicious of all the all-you-can-eat crab I've ever eaten. This is definitely one of the ryokans I'd like to visit again.
Better than expected, clean room and room size is larger than those in city.
Convenient store next door make it even more convenient.
Staff is welcoming even we don't speak a word of Japanese.

SStephen chuNice modern business hotel convenient located close to Sendai Station with a starbucks and convenient store located on the ground floor. MM267895****While the room itself was compact, the bathroom and toilet area felt relatively spacious. The shower and bathtub were combined in one area, with the toilet in a separate, adjacent room, which was very convenient. Upon check-in, the front desk offered a selection of bath salts, with a variety of scents to choose from. Controls for lights, air conditioning, and even requesting room cleaning were all handled via a bedside touchscreen, which was simple and intuitive to operate. Breakfast was also fantastic! It featured many local specialties from Miyagi Prefecture, and I really enjoyed putting together my own 'Date Breakfast' each morning. We were so exhausted from sightseeing every day that I didn't get many chances to photograph the hotel, only the breakfast.
ๆ ๆ ้ๅฎถๅบญJapanese style corner sea view room. Very attractive. The hotel is clean and hygienic. The room is comfortable. Free parking is provided. Very satisfied. The hot spring provides outdoor bath and foot bath. But no sauna. The dinner is very rich. Desserts are provided on the second floor. Very exquisite. Although a little expensive, it is worth the money.
MM262711****The hotel is super close to Sendai Station, making transportation very convenient. It's also near Tohoku University, Sendai Asaichi (morning market), observation decks, and 7-Eleven.
The hotel service is excellent; check-in and check-out were quick and easy.
The rooms are well-equipped, clean, and tidy, with water and toiletries provided. When leaving, I noticed in the reception area that the hotel has won many awards. The breakfast buffet isn't huge, but the variety is decent, typically Japanese. They even have Sendai's famous Zunda Shake, so no need to go all the way to the station to buy one! Whether for leisure or business, it's a solid, comfortable stay without any real drawbacks.
On the day before I left Japan, there was a tsunami and earthquake. I was in such a panic late at night that I ran down to the lobby in my room slippers to consult with the manager. I apologize for that; please forgive me. I later realized that the staff on duty in the lobby were incredibly polite, warm, and helpful in their replies, and they all remained very calm.
GGuest UserHotel Monterey is centrally located just outside the Sendai Station and is easily seen after you exit the station. The staff was very courteous and helpful at the time of check in. Language could be an issue but is easily manageable. I was offered a single room in a lower floor and on my request for a room on the higher floor, without any hesitation I was allotted a double room on the higher floor.
The ambience of the restaurant for breakfast was great and the variety of food served catered to Japanese and western. The breakfast was delicious.
I had to extend my stay and this was also done seamlessly without any issues.
Overall a great hotel centrally located with plenty of shopping around. If I come to Sendai again, I will return to Hotel Monterey if I visit Sendai again.
MM250230****Absolutely perfect, fantastic value for money, and truly exceptional service. The lobby also offered complimentary free-flow beer, red, and white wine. This was hands down the most comfortable stay of our entire trip โ I absolutely loved it! Its location is superb, just a five-minute drive from the main shopping street.
MM291451****I didn't encounter a Chinese-speaking receptionist, but I could still communicate with them. Dinner is served at 5 PM and 7 PM, a buffet with 90 minutes allotted. The best dish was the oyster rice; the oysters were of good quality, and you were given a small pot to cook them yourself โ a great DIY experience. The rest was just average buffet quality, edible, though the beef tongue was decent. Breakfast is served at 7 AM and 8 AM, with 60 minutes allotted. I recommended the seafood donburi, yogurt, and milk โ so delicious! The best part was the bar behind the lobby, with unlimited drinks. The room was large, and I think I was upgraded. The problem was the air conditioning; you could only adjust the level, not the temperature. However, I didn't need to turn it on when I arrived, so I didn't try it. There's a Lawson convenience store near the bus stop, and Leilei Gorge in the other direction, but I didn't go there.

GGuest UserMy stay at the hotel was decent. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable enough. The staff was generally polite, but I felt they could have been more attentive. The location was convenient, and the breakfast was satisfactory. Overall, it was a standard experience without any standout features.
TTravelightPerfect hotel location. A few steps to the shopping streets, restaurants, groceries, and convenient stores. A few minutes walk to train stations. Hotel was clean and we were given a family room instead of just a double bed room with windows facing the main road where the shopping streets are. Staff were all nice.Price was reasonable as it was not a busy season. Breakfast was reasonable for the price. Would love to stay again next time we are on that side. Thank you.
