The hotel is in a great location, overlooking the entire Geiranger Fjord. There is also a heated swimming pool on the third floor of the hotel. You need to wear shoe covers to enter. Unfortunately, we didn’t bring swimsuits. In addition to the indoor pool, there is also a slightly smaller outdoor pool outside.

The room was quite spacious, and the family room had two small beds for children, which was very clean. The hot water was great, perfect for the cold and wet weather in Ålesund. Breakfast was decent, not a huge variety, but enough to fill you up. There were many types of fruit. The transportation was convenient, but you absolutely have to pay for parking beforehand, otherwise, you'll get a ticket.

This guesthouse was very old, but had everything I needed! The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Shower rooms in basement were a little bit small with only a few hanging hooks. The shared bathroom / shower is for individual use, so good privacy. Kitchen was well stocked with coffee, tea and cooking essentials provided. The housekeeper was extremely kind. She didn’t mind luggage storing or using the common area after after checkout The house location was great, walking distance to main scenic spots and bus stations.

The check-in was completed thanks to the codes previously sent by email super simple and contactless. A great plus point are the free parking directly on the site. The room itself was small but had even a balcony. On the floor there is a kitchen, a living room, two toilets and a shower available for community use. All clean and functional – has been perfectly suited to my needs!

The hotel's own parking lot is indoors, probably converted from an air-raid shelter. There is a very narrow door inside, and drivers with poor driving skills may not be able to park in it. I stayed here for two nights, but the weather was terrible – heavy rain and strong winds. Luckily, the hotel wasn't too far from the station, but the whole way was uphill, which was tough for people with luggage! There were supermarkets nearby, so buying food wasn't a problem. The room was very warm, and the bathroom was large with a bathtub. It faced the sea view, so even though the weather outside was bad, my mood wasn't too bad. I especially liked the breakfast – it was plentiful and had a wide variety of choices. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The sea water is clear and deep, and it looks black from a distance, but it is actually too deep. The shallow water next to the hotel is azure blue, and jellyfish can be seen everywhere. However, the room rate is very expensive in summer. Alesund is a small city, a tourist city, and cruise ships bring batches of guests. There are several large stores where tax refunds can be made.
