We have a great stay at this hotel. Its very clean, staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast provided by the hotel is really great too! It is also near to tourist attractions and good food places.

The room we received was nothing like the room advertised on your website. We made our booking through *********** based on the photographs, which portrayed a modern, clean, stylish, and well-maintained room. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. Instead of the fresh, contemporary room shown in the photos, we were given a room that felt old, tired, and poorly maintained. The flooring was covered with worn, old carpets and rugs rather than the clean, modern finishes we expected. The furnishings were dated, the overall appearance was shabby, and the room looked as though it had not been renovated in many years. It felt unclean and lacked the standard of comfort and quality that your promotional images suggested. To make matters worse, the fan in Room 412 was not working, making the room uncomfortable. Throughout the night, every time someone walked along the corridor, the old wooden floorboards creaked loudly, disturbing our sleep. These maintenance issues significantly affected our comfort and overall experience. To be completely honest, the condition of the room reminded us more of emergency housing than accommodation offered by a hotel with your name and reputation. The difference between what was advertised and what we actually received was shocking. We specifically chose your hotel because of the high-quality images displayed on ***********. Those images created an expectation of a premium experience, but the room we received fell far short of that expectation. Had the room been accurately represented, we would have made a different booking decision.

Enjoyed my one night stay on a Thursday night in October. Room - Superior Queen #110. $92 nzd. Pros -Cheap -Comfy mattress -Great location -Clean -Spacious room and bathroom -Heat pump which was on when i arrived which kept the room at a comfy temp. -Kind front desk woman on arrival. -Old world architecture. Cons -Noisy heat pump (albeit grateful there was one) -No sound insulation so can hear footsteps easily. -Bed was 2 x singles pushed together and had to sleep either side of the gap. Tip - book a superior room type. It's my experience these are better quality. When you book the lead in room category (deluxe) they're cheaper for a reason. I would return but not on a Friday or Saturday as the sound of the street noise and night clubs would be heard easily. Thanks for a nice stay.

I arrived in Taupo on the morning Air NZ flight from AKL, upon arrival at the Chevron Motel, 4 hours before the published check-in time, I had planned to ask to have my luggage stored while I go about other business. The receptionist kindly asked me to wait while she checked to see if my room was ready, and if so, I could have my room right away. Lucky for me it was, I was very pleased with the initiative and flexibility offered. My booking included a living area with dining table, kitchen, sofa, spare single bed, a separate bedroom, and a dedicated parking space. My stay of 5 nights was very comfortable, and I will definitely use this motel again on my next visit. I would like to offer a few suggestions for improvements, first - a split type AC unit was present in the living room, it would be great if there could be a second unit installed in the bedroom. Internet connectivity, available 24/7, while adequate, did have limited bandwidth affecting video streaming from Netflix/YouTube etc. Lastly, it would be great if the TV provided in the living room had a larger screen. In summary, I was very pleased with my stay at the Chevron Motel, the room offered great value for money, and I was completely relaxed and comfortable during my stay.

I had a great stay at this hostel, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The common areas were clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere for meeting other travelers. I ended up making some new friends here, and we realized we were planning to visit many of the same places, so we explored together. That really made my trip even more memorable. The hostel itself was very clean and well-maintained, and I was impressed with the overall experience. The only issue I encountered was with late check-in. My bus arrived much later than expected, so I wasn't able to arrange an after-hours check-in in advance. I understand that the instructions were provided by email, but I did have a moment of panic because I was asked to call the hostel's phone number. Since I was traveling with only an eSIM and didn't have a New Zealand phone number, I wasn't able to make the call. It would be great if there were an alternative way to contact the hostel for late check-ins, such as WhatsApp, email, or an online messaging system. Overall, this hostel went beyond my expectations, and I'd definitely recommend it to other travelers.

We stayed as a family of 4 the rooms were emaculately clean, the beds were beautiful and very generous sizing, local milk in beauitful glass bottles connecting the local rural communiy was a great touch.All appliances were new and whisper quiet, which meant we all slept very well. Glenys gave us plenty of advice on where to take the children, local hot pools were a hit and the domain next door with playground gardens and basket ball courts for free family fun, the exploding geyser was great entertainment, very handy location to all the walking tracks up mt Te aroha, supermarket and shops easy walking distance from motel. The service was second to none. Rod and Glenys were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we all had the best stay. We had car trouble, and they opened their garage and time to help us get back on the road forever grateful.Truely, beautiful caring people. We will be back again soon and have told all our friends and family of our new favorite motel

The room was spacious and had a balcony with a view of Lake Taupo. It was very clean, and housekeeping did an excellent job. There's a large parking lot below the hotel, making parking convenient. The path from the parking lot to the hotel is also well-lit. However, some rooms were undergoing renovations, and it was quite noisy in the mornings. This could be disruptive if you're looking for a relaxing vacation. Taupo is located in an earthquake zone, and we experienced a small tremor during our stay. It wasn't major, but it was a bit startling. It's good to be aware of this if you're planning a trip to Taupo; apparently, small earthquakes happen several times a year and are quite normal.

The landlord was very hospitable, gave a detailed introduction, and recommended a popular bar. The shower water pressure in this room was a bit low.

The pool facilities were great lots of options to choose from for swimming. The room was very basic which was fine, however the ”king” bed in the room was 2 single beds moved together so more like a double/queen. As a family booking with 1 bed we expected it to be a bit bigger. There was a half eaten packet of donuts left in our fridge and the microwave still had food splatter in it when we went to use it. We had booked for 3 pax and were only given towels for 2 people so would advise to take your own. The tv also get dropping out of signal which was also annoying. We would consider coming back again but look into an extra bed next time. For the price we paid it was reasonable, I wouldnt want to pay more for the same room.

The accommodation was modern, immaculately clean, and provided a high level of comfort. The cleaning staff excelled, delivering service that surpassed expectations. Overall, the experience was positive. However, it would have been beneficial to be informed in advance that the check-in office is located offsite, requiring approximately a 4 minute drive from the main premises. This information would have streamlined the arrival process.
