Hotels With parking in West Coast, New Zealand

We were greeted with warm hospitality by the owner Angela when we arrived to check into Franz Josef Oasis. The executive king suite room was clean, cosy and spacious. We enjoyed sitting on the sofas with warm blankets place for our comfort near the fireplace. The location of this place is also good as it 5 minutes drive to the town where we had a delicious dinner at Blue Ice Restaurant and Bar which was recommended to us by Angela. The service is excellent and I will definitely recommend this place to those who are travelling to Franz Josef !

Maybe it's the off-season, so there weren't many guests. The biggest plus was the very new bathroom. The room was small, and there were no kitchen facilities. A small fridge hung awkwardly over the sink, which was really inconvenient. The closet was so packed with an ironing board and other items that there was hardly any space to hang clothes.

After arriving, because the water pump of the hotel we booked was being repaired, the boss contacted another nearby hotel in advance for the day's travelers. The room was very good and it was a business hotel. It was upgraded🌝

The hotel is in a great location which only few mins walking from train station and the Main Street of Greymouth. It’s clean and comfortable. The staffs are nice and friendly.

Our stay at Haka House Franz Josef was a great experience overall. The property has a lively, social atmosphere that makes it easy to meet fellow travellers, yet it still offers quiet corners for those who prefer downtime. The common areas are spacious and well-kept, with a cozy lounge and kitchen facilities that make self-catering simple. The location is excellent—right in the heart of Franz Josef, within walking distance to cafes, shops, and the glacier activities. The bunk room we stayed in was basic but clean, with comfortable beds but limited storage and stuffy! It’s easy to see why it’s such a popular spot in town.

Short drive to Lake Matheson and Fox Glacier view. Big and nice with shelter for car park right in front of the motel. Salt/pepper/rice cooker/bread toaster/milk/ basic utensils for cooking are provided. All is good except that towels aren’t changed daily.

The apartment we stayed in was quite new and felt pleasant. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. The Kitchen was new and well equiped. It’s in a small township near Fox Glacier. There was a view point, which was about a few minutes driver from the motel, where the view of the snow peaks and glacier was spectacular. It is also not far from Franz Joseph glacier.

Rimu Lodge was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, the owner, Sue Allen, made us feel incredibly welcome. Our room was beautifully decorated and offered a breathtaking view, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere. Every detail was thoughtfully curated—from the fresh milk for our tea and coffee to the complimentary drinks and chocolates, all adding to the sense of warmth and hospitality. Breakfast was exceptional, with a delicious selection of cooked options to choose from. The entire experience was nothing short of wonderful. I highly recommend staying for at least two nights to fully appreciate the charm and comfort of this remarkable lodge.

This hotel is located midway between Fox Glacier and Lake Wanaka, with not much around it, though there's a bar and restaurant nearby that serves good local food. As for the hotel itself, it's a bit smaller and older compared to other New Zealand hotels, but it's well-maintained. Having a parking spot right outside the entrance was a huge plus, especially since it was raining that day, which made it super convenient.

The male receptionist who greeted us was not particularly friendly; and only when we got to our first floor room did we read about a luggage service. The room was tastefully furnished and clean, and other staff we interacted with were friendly. However the biggest issue is that the walls between rooms are are paper thin so we could hear people next door and doors banging. This woke us up early on both nights we stayed. If you stay - bring ear plugs. There was a lounge with a bar - the bar was permanently closed so there was no where to get a hot or cold drink unless you went to a cafe down the road.
