First time in South Africa, first time in Durban on business, the hotel recommended by a South African friend, 30 kilometers from the airport, about 10 minutes drive from Durban Port. The location is quite convenient, there is a supporting entertainment city, dining, movies and casinos next to the hotel, and the internal passage connects to the first floor of the hotel. It takes 3 minutes to walk to the Sunshine Coast Beach. The sea view room I booked is a little compact, enough for one person, but it may be a little small for two people. Traditional British hotel service, clean and tidy environment, civilized and polite black waiters, especially for Chinese people, the hotel service here is impressive.

A good place to be with a beautiful view.... ”The View” as its name . Closer to a shopping complex , gas station, 5min drive to the beach, closer to the beach there also restaurantswhere you can dine whole having the beach view, Toti Beach. its also closer to galleria Mall. The place is too steep so be ready for that... Their food is delicious, we had dinner there at their restaurant called Giorgios but its expensive I must say. Not sure about their breakfast and lunch though. Staff and reception is just ok. I had requested them to add a crib bed for a child and upon arrival they told us that the storeroom is closed because we arrived at 6pm so it's too late. We then asked them to give us atleast a bedsheets or any linen so we can make a plan for our son, they said ok but never pitched , nothin, not even getting back to us to say what could be the matter. We asked again the following day, they took four hours to bring a bedsheets. Bottom line is if you have a child do not, I repeat DO NOT book that place because they will lie straight to your face saying they could not reach you since you booked via an APP. I'm not sure whetherI want to talk about their kitchen in the rooms. You will have to call them now and again to bring things and they take 3 to 4hours just for a simple thing like a spoon. One thing I can say is they don't listen and listening means you respect your business and your clients I flew from overseas to rest and have a good time and have treat ourselves since they have a spar but I ended up canceling my plans for a spa because I didn't want additional dissapointments. The rest I don't even want to mention...and that is my experience after paying so much Money and looking forward to a good vacation 😌 BUT...

Really good location next to the highway. Staff were incredibly polite, friendly and very helpful. Recommended for a 1-2 night stay for those travelling around to different places.

I spent my birthday at the Balmoral hotel 24th April to 28th April 2926. It was absolutely fantastic. I met such helpful staff including thir Managers each one was friendly and kind. The hotel is old fashioned but feels so homely and comfortable. If you need anything to be sorted out just ask and the staff are very efficient. Breakfast was nice they have a range of items you can choose from . Tea cups should be a bit bigger 😋 Thanks once again for a lovely stay

Truly amazing and relaxing stay - a home away from home in an abundance of excellence! The sound of the ocean and balcony view was one of many highlights that made this stay truly unforgettable! The food was exquisite, with dinner and breakfast being another highlight of their stay. But what truly made their experience special was the attention to detail and the way the hotel celebrated their anniversary in grandeur. The gifts, chocolates, flowers, and balloons were a lovely touch that made the occasion truly unforgettable. My parents were blown away by the hotel's excellence and the staff's dedication to providing a memorable experience. They left with lifelong memories and can't wait to return. Housekeeping is efficient, and our room was kept spotlessly clean. The range of bathroom toiletries are Eveleyn & Crabtree. They are a real treat to use. High quality linen, and towels provided are of exceptional quality. The design of the room is modern and carefully planned to make your stay comfortable. There is a vast choice of different types of food for breakfast including many health choices. Their food is world class. A well designed gym with high tech equipment, towels, and fresh water for guests. There are also washing machines at your disposal! Staff went out of their way to assist us. The staff at reception and room service are attentive and efficient too. We felt extremely safe, and they also had emergency drills of which the staff had to follow. It is my number 1 hotel to go to in Umhlanga.

I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Umhlanga, Durban and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is perfectly located, close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping spots making it very convenient whether you’re visiting for leisure or business. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made the stay even more relaxing. One of the highlights each morning was the amazing breakfast—fresh, delicious, and with a great variety to choose from. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional reception staff. They were incredibly warm, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. As a lovely surprise, they even upgraded me to a sea-view room because it was my birthday, which made my stay feel extra special and memorable. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great service, a prime location, and excellent hospitality. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Umhlanga!

Good stay menus is great location is great comfortable rooms

Anew Hotel has the best staff, amazing pool, wonderful landscape, and location. They are close to KFC, steers, fishaways- however the hotel itself makes the most delicious food and desserts. Thami , Sbo and Giraad were always helpful and did their best to welcome us and make us comfortable. Our room- 100A ( separate from the main hotel, which was amazing as it had the view of the garden and our own parking and space), did noy have wifi coverage. We had to walk to the hotel itself for network. If you do not have data or an SA Sim card,this can be an issue. We did the following activities which were all in a 20 to 30 min close vicinity of the hotel. 1. Big 5 Safari at Hluhluwe Game Reserve 2. Emdoneni Wildcat cat Sanctuary 3. False Bay 4. Bayete Elephant Interaction This was the best time of our lives as we thoroughly enjoy wildlife and the outdoors. Thank you Anew Hotel. We will be back !!
