GGuest UserI first went to Panyu Hotel, queued up for check-in, but after several minutes, neither of the two front desk staff acknowledged me. It felt like waiting in line at a bank. So, I turned to my phone, searched for nearby hotels, and found Grand Mercure with good reviews. Here's my experience: The good parts: 1. They have 4 EV charging stations, and I didn't have to wait to charge (probably because I arrived late), which was one of the reasons I chose Grand Mercure. 2. Plenty of parking. I noticed there was a conference on the 6th floor these past few days, but there were still plenty of empty parking spots, so no worries about finding a space. 3. There's an outdoor swimming pool, and guests can swim for free. The pool hadn't closed when I arrived, but it was raining, so the staff said they'd wait for the rain to stop before opening it. The next morning, it wasn't raining, and I spent some time by the pool (didn't bring swimwear or a cap). Even though it rained the day before, the water was still very clean. 4. Customer service representative Xiao Mai (MAI) told me my room was on the 6th floor and that there was a conference upstairs. Concerned I might not find my way, she personally escorted me to the room and helped me adjust the temperature and lighting. Her service gets a perfect 10. 5. The room was quiet. Willow at the front desk, when I checked in around 6 or 7, offered me choices: a room with a pool view, a bathtub, or a balcony. I picked the one with a balcony. Although it didn't overlook the hotel pool, I could step out to get some fresh air and feel the breeze (thankfully, I had sprayed insect repellent beforehand; Guangdong mosquitoes can fly up to the 6th floor and fly high after a blood meal!). The mattress was soft and comfortable, not lumpy. The carpet looked old and faded but was very clean, probably having been recently cleaned. 6. Good greenery and abundant plants. The fountain turns off at night, so it doesn't disturb sleep. 7. The hotel has three interconnected buildings forming a '凹' shape. There are elevators in the connecting areas. If you're on the 6th floor, taking the scenic elevator down to your car is quite convenient, saving you a trip to the main lobby. 8. The Chinese restaurant on the first floor didn't seem to be open. Guihua recommended nearby Shun Jing Ming Lou, Shui Yun Jian, Da Shu Tou, and Hua Xi Yu (which sounds beautiful, and I ended up going there) for Cantonese cuisine. The prices in the vicinity aren't as high as in Shenzhen, so they're acceptable. Areas for improvement: 1. Every time I need to exit the parking lot, I have to scan a QR code or call the front desk to enter my license plate number, which is quite inconvenient. The hotel should consider upgrading its parking system, similar to Chimelong's, where you input your car details at check-in, and it's valid until check-out the next day. 2. The cakes at afternoon tea were not very refined; they were too simple. 3. If it's your first time and you're staying on the 6th floor, I'd recommend having someone escort you, as it can be a bit confusing to navigate. For me, the pros outweighed the cons. It really depends on personal preferences.

JJS.LifeAbroadMy family and I recently spent a weekend at the Kenmore Art Hotel Residence, and it was, in a word, exceptional. We were looking for a place that offered more space and character than a standard hotel, and this property delivered beyond our hopes. Our Two-Bedroom Residence was impeccably designed—spacious, clean, and filled with natural light. The separate living area gave us room to spread out, and the well-equipped kitchenette was ideal for preparing small meals. But the absolute showstopper was the master bathroom. The deep, freestanding tub positioned by the floor-to-ceiling window, offering panoramic city views, was a daily luxury we all adored. It transformed a simple bath into a serene, memorable experience.

YYYDS0112Five-star rating, absolutely fantastic! The sea-view room I booked was even better than the pictures. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows offered an unobstructed panoramic view of the entire ocean. I could lie in bed and gaze at the blue sea and sky, wake up to the sound of waves and the sunrise in the morning, and watch the sunset over the sea from the balcony in the evening. The ambiance was absolutely perfect. The room's cleanliness was impeccable; every corner was spotless. The bedding was soft and comfortable, the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and all the disposable amenities were provided. The appliances were all new and worked great. The owner and housekeeper were warm and attentive, making the check-in and check-out process smooth. They were super quick to respond to any questions I had. It's a short walk to the beach, making it very convenient for getting around. Plus, it's incredibly photogenic! My beach vacation experience was absolutely top-notch. I'll definitely choose this place again next time. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sea-view getaway!

GGuest UserThe front desk staff was incredibly thoughtful and even upgraded my room for free. The hotel's location is quite good, with plenty of delicious food options near the subway station. The airport pick-up was also very prompt; no need to share a ride, I could go straight to the hotel as soon as I arrived. Once at the hotel, the room was very spacious and even included a massage chair. As it's a sleep-themed hotel, there were many thoughtful little touches, like music and sleep-friendly lighting. Overall, my stay was a great experience, and I'll likely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shenzhen.

SSang TuanLocation: 5/5 – Absolutely Strategic! The biggest strength of this hotel is its unbeatable location. You’re steps away from McDonald's and Luckin Coffee for quick bites and caffeine. A well-stocked mall is right beside the hotel, making it super easy to grab daily necessities. The best part? A lively night market is directly opposite the hotel! This makes finding delicious, affordable local food incredibly convenient any time of the evening. The whole area is very 热闹 (rènào - bustling/energetic) – perfect if you want to be in the heart of the action. Cleanliness: 3/5 – Okay for the Price, Manage Expectations The general cleanliness is acceptable, if you adjust your expectations. It's definitely not a 5-star luxury experience, but for a budget/mid-range stay, it's passable and reasonably maintained. Don't expect immaculate perfection, but the basics are covered. Room & Atmosphere: 2/5 – Persistent Smoke Smell The major downside, especially in the rooms and hallways, is a strong and pervasive smoke smell. It's quite noticeable and doesn't dissipate easily. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common issue in many hotels within the region, but it's definitely present and unpleasant here if you're sensitive to it. Breakfast: 1/5 – Strongly Not Recommended / Unhygienic Avoid the breakfast option. Hygiene standards here are very poor. I personally observed small cockroaches crawling on the tables in the breakfast area. This is completely unacceptable and a major health red flag. Do yourself a favor and skip it entirely. Thankfully, with McDonald's, Luckin, the mall food court, and the fantastic night market opposite, you have plenty of much better (and cleaner) alternatives nearby. Overall: This hotel is all about the location, location, location. If being in a super convenient, vibrant area with easy access to food, coffee, and shopping is your top priority, and you're on a budget, it serves that purpose. The cleanliness is tolerable for the category. However, the strong smoke smell in the rooms and corridors is a significant drawback, and the breakfast is dangerously unhygienic (cockroach sighting confirmed). Choose this hotel for the prime spot if you can tolerate the smoke and definitely plan to eat breakfast elsewhere. Who should stay: Budget-conscious travelers prioritizing an unbeatable, lively location who aren't sensitive to smoke smells and will skip the hotel breakfast. Who should avoid: Families with young children, travelers sensitive to smoke, those prioritizing high cleanliness standards, or anyone planning to eat the hotel breakfast.

SShiwodeyueliangSeriously unearthed a hidden gem! The environment is incredibly healing; opening the window reveals stunning views of green mountains and trees. The air is fresh, it's wonderfully quiet, and it's so relaxing to be away from the city hustle. The room was clean and tidy, decorated warmly and elegantly, and the bedding was super comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The host was very warm, easygoing, and provided thoughtful, meticulous service with great attention to detail. The surrounding scenery is absolutely breathtaking, perfect for photos. Dining and staying here were both very pleasant, and it offers excellent value for money. I'll definitely come back for my next vacation and highly recommend it to everyone!

RRafi Ahammed ChowdhuryExcellent location for business and sightseeing in Shenzhen. I had a very convenient and comfortable stay at Dongyuan Hotel near Shenzhen Grand Theater and Hongling South Subway Station. The biggest highlight of this hotel is definitely the prime location. It is very easy to move around Shenzhen from here, and many markets, shops, restaurants, and business areas are nearby. For a business traveler, the location saves a lot of time, and for tourists it is also a great base to explore the city. The hotel is simple, practical, and good value for money. The reception area was easy to find, and the staff were helpful during check-in. The room had the basic facilities needed for a short stay, and the environment felt convenient for anyone who plans to spend most of the day outside for meetings, shopping, or sightseeing. I would recommend this hotel to business travelers, solo travelers, and tourists who want an affordable place in a central area of Shenzhen. The access to public transport and nearby markets makes it a very practical choice. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would consider booking again when visiting Shenzhen.

AAmideeThis is a lovely place to go for a night or two to just relax. Also a pet friendly place, so that makes is ideal for me! The front desk are really helpful and you can add them onto your wechat to contact them directly anytime. They provide all essentials to be comfortable. I did ask if I could have a kettle for inside my tent, for coffee, which they were able to provide for me. Dinner options, you can choose chicken hot pot or the crawfish hot pot at their reception, which you can do yourself by your tent, or tell them you’d like to cook it in their dining area. Otherwise you can also barbecue your own things at your camp sight. It’s suggested to take your own food to bbq there, as their choices are limited. They did provide me with some sweet potato when I asked, and the chicken hot pot was really tasty and filling! The tent was clean, comfortable and has AC. We stayed in the smallest tents they provide, and it was perfect for what we needed. They have a swimming pool facility that is open from 4:30-6:30pm only. It would be nice if was available in the morning as well!! There’s not a lot to do in the surrounding area of the resort. You can do fishing, go for walks through the forest along the stream. I suggest to take some activity things to do like badminton or other board games etc. There are great play areas for kids, and fun slides are incorporated into the designs of some of the rooms. There are plenty different types of tent facilities and some have some really nice privacy looking onto the stream and have some outdoor hot spring tubs (plunge pool). The small tent porches don’t have privacy, but they are adequate for a short stay in nature. Getting there is easy by didi or hired car, getting back you just need to make your search on the app more wide because the location is a bit isolated from busy areas, but otherwise that’s also not a problem.
