Pet Friendly Hotels in Hainan, China

This is a decent, standard airport hotel, very close to the airport. They offer a shuttle bus every half hour, though you can actually walk to the terminal. There's also an outlet mall next door for shopping and dining. The facilities are relatively new and have all the necessary amenities. Most of the staff are dedicated and helpful, though a very small number had slightly poor attitudes, which I can understand if they were on a night shift. Special thanks to the housekeeping staff, who were very warm, hospitable, and went out of their way to help guests, even providing a charging cable to a guest next door, which wasn't even part of her job. There was a faint lingering smell of smoke in the room when I entered, but that's not the hotel's fault; it's due to a previous guest violating the no-smoking policy.

Let me start by praising the service. First and foremost, our butler, ”Blue Cat,” was incredibly service-minded, always looking out for guests' interests and proactively checking in on various matters. Beyond that, everyone at the hotel, from the front desk to the concierge and the cleaning staff, provided excellent service. They all served with a smile and greeted us warmly. As for the rooms, I still think Marriott's maintenance is much better than the two hotels next door. Sanya definitely offers a fantastic vacation vibe. I found the breakfast to be both varied and delicious – highly recommended. While the public areas next door might be slightly better, it's worth noting that they're all interconnected, so you can access them anyway. Overall, it was the best experience among the three hotels.

Hotel has connecting family rooms available for booking. Hotel does not restrict smoking in non-smoking rooms. The rooms at level 8,9,10 had guests smoking in their rooms that affected ours via the aircon vents. Level 7 where laundry room is located, is also the same level for hotel members’ mahjong room = smoking rooms. 4 washer and 4 dryers + iron + board. Level 6 is the restaurant where breakfast is served. Typical Chinese cuisine breakfast. There is no gym room at this property. Location is alright though eatery is a distance away. Walking distance of 10mins to reach Waika International Hotel area where minimarts, fruits and restaurants can be found.

I've stayed at four Hilton hotels across Hainan, and this one definitely feels a bit old. Seriously, two or three outlets in our room (3517) were broken!?! And while the public areas are by the sea, they're not particularly beautiful and lack that relaxed, resort-like vibe. The pool isn't great either, and only one was open, so I didn't even bother using it. Breakfast was especially bad – they must be cutting corners too much! My husband even pointed out that their Hainan specialty 'Zaopo Vinegar' didn't even have any seafood in it! Also, I have to speak up for the little animals. Those few squirrels are quite pitiful; their activity space is too small. It feels a bit like animal cruelty. They should be released; it would be a truly meritorious act!

My stay was initially quite pleasant. The front-line staff were consistently warm, attentive, and thoughtful throughout. When a small issue arose with our travel photos, the hotel promptly communicated and resolved it, which I appreciated. I thought I was going to have a wonderful experience, but it was completely ruined by one utterly unprofessional staff member, plummeting my satisfaction! While riding the shuttle bus, we politely asked the shuttle driver about the hotel's attractions and photo spots. The driver was halfway through explaining when another person nearby suddenly interjected and answered for him! Her attitude was extremely rude, cold, and dismissive. She was sarcastic the entire time, even accusing us of not speaking clearly. We were just asking basic, straightforward questions about attractions, and I truly don't understand how we could have possibly expressed ourselves more 'clearly'. When we politely asked about photo spots, she flat-out said there weren't any, and was incredibly impatient. Yet, later we saw clear signs for photo spots all over the hotel. We got zero useful information, only a belly full of frustration and anger! Afterward, the hotel told us this person was a 'secondary employee' and wasn't on duty, which is why she wasn't wearing an ID badge. I completely reject this flimsy explanation! Why was she wearing a uniform, riding a guest shuttle, and casually interjecting to address guests if she wasn't on duty? It's one thing to be unfamiliar with hotel operations and lack service awareness, but she didn't even have basic human decency. She seemed to be working with a chip on her shoulder, acting condescendingly, as if we, the guests, were accommodating her bad mood! In stark contrast, all the other shuttle drivers were kind, friendly, patient, and enthusiastic, creating an incredibly jarring difference! The hotel's reputation, carefully built by its front-line staff, was completely destroyed by this 'secondary employee' who showed no rules, no professionalism, and no respect. The hotel merely offered a casual explanation of her identity without any indication of intending to improve. Such tolerance for employee misconduct is truly disheartening. I will never recommend this hotel, nor will I ever stay here again!

While the hotel exterior didn’t quite match the photos on the booking platform, our actual stay was very pleasant. The highlight was the exceptional customer service. We had an issue with cigarette smoke drifting into our room, but the lady duty manager went above and beyond to move us to a room of our choosing. The location is excellent - surrounded by cafes, bakeries, and restaurants - and perfect for anyone wanting an authentic local experience. A heads-up for international travellers: breakfast is strictly Chinese cuisine with no Western options (coffee, tea, or bread). Would be good if hotel can improve smoke control, particularly in the elevators and lobby area. Overall, a recommended stay for service and convenience!

I stayed in a garden view suite, which was on the first floor of Building 5. It wasn't far from the lobby, just a two to three-minute walk, and there were on-demand shuttle carts if I didn't feel like walking. The room was spacious, and the amenities and facilities were all excellent. The staff provided great service; any requests could be made via WeChat to the butler or by phone. I often saw planes flying overhead, but it didn't disturb my sleep at all at night; it was actually a unique sight. The public areas were also beautiful, and I had a fantastic time at the swimming pool, which catered to both adults and children. I even caught a bubble bath by chance! Oh, and there's a beach very close to the hotel, just a three-minute walk away. It wasn't crowded, and while the waves were a bit big for swimming that day, it was perfect for kids to dig in the sand and enjoy the breeze. The hotel is also very close to the airport, making travel convenient. I'd definitely come back again if I have the chance!

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the environment. The hygiene was impeccable, and the facilities were complete and in good working order. The room was well-ventilated and airy. The front desk staff had excellent service attitudes, and it was quiet, not noisy. It was a great stay, and I'll definitely be back next time.

Service: First, I want to commend Lesly Huang for her enthusiastic and professional service. On the day of check-in, she arranged a room upgrade for us and seamlessly joined the twin beds, which made for a very comfortable sleep – truly the biggest bonus of this stay. The pool staff were also excellent, patiently accompanying the children to switch the water slide on and off, even under the hot sun. The restaurant staff were equally warm and accommodating. Kudos to the Sheraton Haikou for its excellent service! Cleanliness: Standard five-star hotel level, no issues there. Environment: See the pictures for details. The pool has large slides, separated for children and adults (operating during specific time slots daily), and there's a hot spring pool in the evening (very relaxing). One minor complaint: the hotel clearly has East and West wings, and the restaurant also has two entrances, but only the West wing entrance was open. We walked all the way from the East wing to the restaurant door, only to find a 'closed' sign, forcing us to turn back (either by going up and down floors or walking around the perimeter under the scorching sun). I suggest clearer signage on the path from the East wing to the restaurant. Facilities: Although the hotel is a bit older, the room equipment is generally well-maintained. Only some rooms have TV casting capabilities, so if you need this, inform the front desk in advance. The breakfast restaurant's tableware was the biggest letdown of this trip. For a five-star hotel's noodle bar, all the bowls were chipped. On the first day, I almost cut my mouth. Over two days, I picked up 4-6 chipped bowls – even an ordinary restaurant wouldn't do this. See the pictures for details. Not only was it unappetizing, but it also posed a safety hazard. I asked the restaurant manager, who said it was a quality issue with this batch of bowls, purchased only three months ago. It's unacceptable for a Sheraton to still be using bowls in this condition after three months. PS: The hotel is directly connected to the beach, no need to cross any roads. It's a 5-minute walk through the hotel grounds from the lobby to the sea. It's convenient for digging in the sand, and the beach is managed by the municipality and seemed quite clean. So, for a family vacation in Haikou, the Sheraton is still recommended.

The Internet-famous pool lives up to its reputation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Seriously, this pool is incredible! You get to witness the sunset and the ocean right from the hotel pool 🌅. Imagine soaking in the crystal-clear water while the pink and orange twilight paints the sea in soft hues, with the scent of the ocean even in the breeze. The infinity pool design is absolutely stunning; it creates a seamless horizon where the sky meets the water, making you feel like you're floating in the ocean's embrace. Every photo you take looks like a professional vacation shot. There are also super fun water facilities for kids, so both adults and children can have a blast. It’s truly an ideal seaside vacation experience! We struck gold with this hotel for our family trip; their pool truly understands what families with kids need~ The huge infinity pool directly faces the sea. My child had a blast on the water slides while I relaxed, enjoying the sea breeze and the view – it was pure bliss to have my hands free! The pool water is clean, and the lifeguards are very responsible, making us feel completely at ease playing in the water all day. We were utterly captivated by the hotel's ocean-view pool! The infinity pool directly facing the ocean, with the gorgeous pink and blue sunset sky, was beyond beautiful. Water play, photos, and ocean views – all in one place, making the vacation vibe 100% immersive. The water facilities are also super fun, perfect for both relaxing and letting the kids run wild. We'll definitely choose this place again for our next beach getaway! Service:⭐⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️ The front desk service was a huge plus! Check-in was quick and thoughtful, with the staff being enthusiastic and attentive throughout. They even proactively offered many useful tips for local attractions and restaurants, helping us avoid several pitfalls. Any issues we had during our stay were addressed promptly by the front desk, and their attitude was consistently excellent. The overall experience was absolutely fantastic. Seafood Buffet⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Even my friend who doesn't usually like seafood raved about it. The ingredients were impeccably clean, and the chilled section maintained a consistent low temperature, keeping everything fresh. There wasn't a long wait at the live cooking stations, and the servers proactively helped change our plates – the service was incredibly attentive. That feeling of being so full you can barely move, who understands it? The variety of seafood was overwhelming, with unlimited crab, snow crab legs, and all sorts of shellfish. Everything was fresh, and getting things cooked on the spot was incredibly satisfying. Choosing this seafood buffet for our family was definitely the right decision! All the ingredients in the seafood section were clearly labeled, and there was a dedicated live cooking area where kids' favorites like shrimp and fish could be prepared fresh, which was clean and reassuring. Besides seafood, there were also many hot dishes and desserts that kids love. My child had a great time, and I got to enjoy unlimited seafood – it was perfect! Kids' Club⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have to praise the hotel's newly upgraded and expanded kids' club! After the expansion, the facilities are much newer, and the age-specific zones are more thoughtfully designed. The soft play area for younger kids is great, and there are plenty of activities for older children too. Most importantly, it's clean and safe, with staff who are incredibly responsible throughout. I finally got to relax peacefully nearby, and now I don't have to constantly chase after my child during our family vacation – it's a dream come true! I was so happy to discover that the hotel's kids' club had been upgraded and expanded this time; the experience was so much better than before! Not only is the space larger, but many new and exciting activities have been added, and all the facilities are brand new. The soft padding and protective measures are also much improved. My child was completely engrossed in playing. The kids' club will definitely be a must-visit for our future family trips here! Room Cleanliness⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The room was meticulously cleaned, overall neat and comfortable, with items neatly arranged. It was a very pleasant stay, and the attention to detail was excellent.
