I want to take a moment here to describe one of my best moments with the staff from this establishment. Not only this place is located neitherly next to the fall for the best view; but they were always there to provide mewith the best care I also never experienced before from giving me a private tour around from themselves willingness, give me free liquor or drinks even if I didn’t want to some time.🤗. I got dressed up from his brothers shop; for me was an honour to be like having their cultural outfit for the day, show me the best restaurants around to taste the rich flavours of the region. And off course the incredible view at night from my balcony is unbelievable. This pale can receive sigle, couple and families. The room are rusting and very warm. It’s for me a 5 stars of the personality of the place and base on luxury. You won’t regret it! 👍🏼💝🙏

The location is fantastic, a quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, very close and convenient to the city center. You can drive right up to the entrance, unlike some hotels in the absolute center where it's super noisy and you have to drag your luggage for ages. The room was very quiet and clean, and the river view was stunning. I could sit by the window and zone out for an entire afternoon – a truly wonderful experience! I wouldn't recommend the free Miao village; I highly recommend Dehang Miao Village instead. The Dehang Grand Canyon is incredibly beautiful, and taking a car up and walking down is a pleasant and effortless way to enjoy it.

I stayed here with my sister and we absolutely loved it! The owners were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help us and make us feel welcome even though they didn’t speak English! We stayed here 3 nights but wish we had stayed longer! They took care of booking all of our activities for us and even messaged us when we were out to ensure that we had found our way alright! The location was also excellent with beautiful views from the roof deck of the mountains as well as a washer/dryer free to use! We even had an amazing view of the mountains from our room!

I have no words. Truly the best stay ever. I loved the breakfast, the view, the rooms, the pick up service was a great help and they even wanted to drive us around in case we needed pick up after we were done with exploring. They also offer help with getting the tickets for the city and the tea and snacks gift was most welcomed. I cannot wait to be back here.

I specifically chose a guesthouse with a direct view of the waterfall for my trip to Furong Ancient Town, and it truly exceeded my expectations! As soon as I opened the window, there was Furong Waterfall. In the restaurant, I could see the mist rising, and when the sun was out, I could even spot a rainbow. At night, the lights on the waterfall made it feel like a magical fairyland – the night view was absolutely stunning, a hundred times more beautiful than during the day! I could hear the sound of Furong Waterfall right from my bed, and I slept incredibly well. The guesthouse itself is decorated in a super authentic Tujia style, with beautiful wooden elements that give it a lot of character. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was just right (not too soft, not too hard), and the air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly. The owner was incredibly welcoming, and breakfast was also fantastic.

The hotel is very near the ancient scenic area and has the modern amenities. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They helped us with the luggage and even upgraded our room when we said we prefer 2 beds. Breakfast was delicious and the 2 elderly couple were very warm and accommodating. They make sure you are full and try to make conversations deapite the language barrier. Overall, this hotel is a 5 star for cleanliness and the staff. We highly recommend this to those who are on a budget but wants superb service.

I was a bit disappointed of the Hotel. Good thing was, the room was very big, therefore enough space. But I booked the Hotel because of their advertised picture on Tianmen Mountain. Unfortunately there is a big construction side right in front of the windows. Also my room was rocked down a bit. Other rooms I could have a look in were a bit better then mine. Also this is not just a big Hotel. It's a 17 Stores big building and on every floor is another Hotel. Overall I can not recommend it.

The place is genuinely clean, and the layout ensures privacy from other guests. For this price, the value for money is absolutely outstanding. Typically, cheaper places have cleanliness issues, and more expensive ones are just too pricey. Here, you pay for a standard hotel but get a villa-like experience. You can spend an entire afternoon relaxing, enjoying the scenery with a cup of tea. The laundry room has both washing and drying facilities, so no need to queue like in a hotel, and there's even a butler service. They also have a mahjong room and a bamboo grove for barbecues. Thumbs up!

This hotel offers a perfect room for a family of three. The hygiene is excellent, and they provide disposable towels. The breakfast is also very delicate and thoughtfully prepared. The location is fantastic, right next to the Maglev station. When we checked out, the owner even drove us to the high-speed rail station, which was incredibly convenient. From the window, you can enjoy a quiet night view, as it's far from the noisy bar street. It's very peaceful. There are a few great restaurants if you walk towards the ancient town, though getting in and out of the ancient town itself is a bit of a walk.

Extremely pleased with this hotel! The check-in process was efficient and quick. The front desk staff were all smiles, and our butler, An Yu, was particularly welcoming. He proactively greeted us, thoroughly explained the hotel's facilities and dining hours, and even sent thoughtful reminders for meal times. The hotel's decor is a beautiful New Chinese style, creating a very cozy and inviting atmosphere. Watching the city lights at night from our room was incredibly relaxing. Cleanliness was impeccable. The mattress had the perfect firmness, ensuring a wonderfully restful night's sleep. The facilities are top-notch: the shower had excellent, stable water pressure, and the hot water was instant – perfect for washing away the day's fatigue. Both breakfast and the late-night snack were abundant and delicious. I especially recommend the freshly prepared rice noodles and fresh fruit, which truly recharged us for our day's activities. The location is also incredibly convenient. Overall, it was a nearly perfect stay. From the amenities to the soft services, everything exceeded my expectations. The value for money is exceptional; it's absolutely worth every penny. Next time I visit this city, I will definitely choose this hotel again and will wholeheartedly recommend it to friends and family!

GGuest Usereasily the best stay ever, from the location to the to the whole experience of the stay, from the friendly staffs who were so accommodating to our requests, to being greeted by their friendly companions (shoutout to wang wang and dudu, two super adorable dogs). 4 nights there was such a dream, the view of our room overlooking the mountain, to the whole ambience that foggy valley offers, seriously stunning. not forgetting their restaurant, the dishes offered are of a variety, and it tastes so homely! and the breakfast offered also serves a huge variety, you won’t get sick of it. overall, we made a superb decision to stay at foggy valley as our stay in ZJJ, after a full day of walking and climbing and touring ZJJ, this is the kind of stay you want to come back to ☺️

CChaya🇨🇳 Ho Perfect if you're entering via the East Gate! Beautiful rooms, amazing service. Keep this in mind for your trip! 📌 🛏️ 1. Exactly as pictured & Great value for money - The room is fantastic, very new, and spotlessly clean. I booked a room with a bathtub and got the 4th floor. It looked exactly like the photos. The price in late March was amazing—less than $30/night (getting a bathtub at this price is super worth it!). The furniture looks brand new. - The bathroom is great, with clearly separated wet and dry zones. It has a smart toilet with a heated seat and auto-flush! - Amenities are quite complete. However, the hotel provides disposable towels. If you have a larger build, they might not cover you completely (I'm petite, so it didn't bother me), but the material is highly absorbent. - Good to know: the building has an elevator, but you do have to carry your luggage up a few steps to reach the entrance, so it's not 100% wheelchair accessible. But once inside, you can comfortably use the elevator without carrying your bags up to the higher floors. 📍 2. Quiet location but easy to get around - The hotel is slightly tucked away from the busy, bright areas, making it very quiet and perfect for a good night's sleep. - Getting to the park is super easy. You can catch a Didi to the East Gate, and it’s very cheap—only about $0.70 per ride. - As for food, even though it's not right next to convenience stores or restaurants, you can easily order food delivery. If you want to eat out, you can take a Didi or walk to the restaurant area. It's not far, less than 1 kilometer away. 👩🏻💼 3. Friendly owner & Excellent service - The owner manages the reception herself and is extremely hospitable. She gives great advice on exploring the park. Whether you plan a 1-day or 2-day itinerary, she can recommend the perfect walking route. I planned a 2-day trip, so she suggested entering via the East Gate on the first day and the South Gate on the second day. - She is always in a good mood and genuinely seems to love her work. Her bright energy makes talking to her an absolute joy 🤣 I was so impressed! - Her English is okay for basic communication, but for convenience and speed, we used WeChat. The translation feature made it smooth, and we understood each other perfectly. 🎟️ 4. Better ticket discounts through the hotel - I highly recommend this! If you need tickets, let the hotel book them for you—the prices are actually better than booking through popular travel apps. - Whether it's the national park ticket (she also helps book your entry time slot for every day you plan to visit—though if you want to change the time, you need to ask her to update it for you), Baofeng Lake, or the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, she can get them at a cheaper price. - Another perk is the unpredictable weather in Zhangjiajie. Letting her book day-by-day or close to the date means you don't have to risk booking too far in advance. I changed my plan easily because of fog and rain, and it was completely stress-free. 🚑 5. A personal note of gratitude (why I'm writing this review so long) Late at night on March 25th, I had a medical emergency. I reached out to the owner, and she was incredibly helpful. She actually left the hotel counter to take me to the hospital and helped sort everything out 😭🙏 (I truly apologize to the other guests staying that night!). I was so touched and grateful, and didn't know how else to repay her, so I wanted to write this review to pass on the good word. Summary: This stay was super comfortable and truly heartwarming. Not only because of how much she helped me, but the rooms and facilities are genuinely excellent. If you're looking for a place to stay, please keep this hotel in mind! ❤️

EEduarda Carvalho[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app. The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one. You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station. [ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations. The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends. There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village. For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate. About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan. Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

GGuest UserI especially want to commend the hotel's shuttle service! The hotel contacted us in advance and arranged for a driver to wait for us punctually at the station. They even proactively helped us with our luggage, so we didn't have to scramble in an unfamiliar place – that seamless transition felt absolutely fantastic. The breakfast was an even bigger surprise; it was a buffet with a rich variety of options, including both Chinese and Western dishes. The ingredients were fresh, and items were replenished promptly. We could always leave full and ready for our day of exploring, which even saved us lunch money! In terms of service, everyone from the driver and front desk staff to the restaurant team and housekeeping aunties was incredibly warm and polite. All in all, this is a very thoughtful hotel!

GGuest UserZhangjiajie Idyllic Pondside Timber Lodge feels like a quiet retreat designed for people who want to slow down and reconnect with nature. From the moment you arrive, the setting stands out—lush gardens spread across the property, carefully maintained yet still natural enough to feel authentic. Walking paths wind through greenery, leading you past tranquil ponds where the water reflects the surrounding trees and sky. It’s the kind of place where even a short stroll becomes part of the experience. The ponds are a highlight. They’re not just decorative; they create a calming atmosphere that carries throughout the lodge. Sitting by the water in the early morning or at sunset is especially memorable, with only the sounds of birds and the occasional ripple breaking the silence. The rooms continue that same sense of comfort and simplicity. Built with timber elements, they feel warm and grounded rather than overly polished. Inside, everything is thoughtfully arranged—clean, spacious, and equipped with the essentials for a relaxing stay. Large windows often bring in views of the gardens or ponds, making it easy to feel connected to the outdoors even when you’re inside. The service was outstanding. All my needs and questions were answered promptly. What really defines the lodge is its balance: it offers comfort without losing its natural charm. It’s not trying to be flashy or luxurious in a conventional sense—instead, it succeeds by creating a peaceful environment where the surroundings take center stage. Overall, Zhangjiajie Idyllic Pondside Timber Lodge is ideal for travelers looking for a calm, nature-focused stay. Between the gardens, the serene ponds, and the cozy rooms, it provides a refreshing break from busier, more commercial accommodations.

DDoudoufei625The hotel's location is super convenient, right on Qifeng Square, with the shuttle bus stop directly outside. You can see the hotel as soon as you get off, and it has the most prominent facade in the vicinity. Upon check-in, we received complimentary fruit, and when we checked out, we were given a small souvenir. The room was equipped with a smart assistant (XiaoDu) that controlled the curtains and TV. Breakfast was quite substantial, offering freshly made rice noodles, scrambled eggs, pastries, and desserts. It was served from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and even if you woke up late and arrived closer to 9 AM, there was still plenty of food available until everyone had finished eating. It's just a few minutes' walk to Hongqiao. If you go down the stairs to the right of Hongqiao and then turn right again, you can catch the night boat tour. It's worth pre-booking a combined ticket for the scenic area. The night tour lasts about 25 minutes, and the illuminated scenery is stunning, with performances like Cui Cui along the Tuojiang River.

GGuest UserThe room was very clean. There's also a self-service washing machine and dryer on the fourth floor. The soundproofing could be better, and the 'stargazing room' effect wasn't great, though most people probably aren't booking it for that. Overall, it's pretty good, and it's not far from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.

GGuest UserA comfortable base near Tianmen Mountain — great value for 2 nights! We stayed for two nights at the Suxin Tianmen Yinlu Hotel and were pleasantly surprised by its comfort, location, and service. It’s an excellent choice for travellers planning to explore Tianmen Mountain and the surrounding area. Location: 8.5/10. The hotel is conveniently located just a 15 minute walk from the entrance to Tianmen Mountain National Park and the Tianmen Cableway station. This made it easy for us to start our day early and avoid the busiest crowds. The hotel is a bit old, but it’s well maintained and clean. Our room was quiet and comfortable, with everything we needed for a good rest after long days of exploring. The staff were incredibly nice and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They gave us useful tips on the best routes and timing for Tianmen Mountain, helping us avoid long queues. A special mention goes to the breakfast they prepared for us. Despite the hotel not having a formal restaurant, the staff took care to arrange a hearty and delicious breakfast each morning. It included local specialties and some Western options — exactly what we needed to fuel up for a day of hiking. Value for money: 9/10. For a 2‑night stay, the price felt very fair. You get a clean, comfortable room in a strategic location with exceptionally kind and helpful staff — exactly what you need when exploring Tianmen Mountain. Minor notes: the hotel’s design is a bit dated, but this didn’t affect our comfort in any way. The focus here is clearly on practicality and hospitality rather than modern aesthetics. I would definitely recommend the Suxin Tianmen Yinlu Hotel to anyone visiting Tianmen Mountain for 1–3 nights. It’s not a luxury resort, but its convenient location, clean rooms, and wonderful staff make it a practical and welcoming choice.

RRachchelloThis hostel is 40min drive away from the high speed rail station but conveniently located 5 min drive away from the west gate, which allows one to escape from the queues. We were here during the Easter holidays and even then, didn’t have to queue up for the cable cars or eco buses. Most tourists entered via the East/South Gates thus we traveled from a counter direction. There isn’t much around the hostel so be prepared to fully immerse into the quietude of village life and the songs of roosters and birds. The nearest “town” (a few supermarkets and maybe two village restaurants)is also 5min drive away and Xiaozhao nicely offered us a drive on the Buggy. There isn’t any taxi around. The ride from here to downtown ZZJ or the high speed rail station would cost around RMB200. I like most the scenery from our spacious veranda, with a view to some classical zhangjiajie landforms, and equipped with a huge tea table and a jacuzzi. It was raining often, but I had fully enjoyed my waiting time till the sky cleared up. Xiaozhao took meticulous care of us - he quickly tended to any requests and offered great recommendations on travel routes. The compound is deeply surrounded by trees and offered good privacy. Food is a little overpriced but taste is good. Drawbacks…as they position as a high-end boutique hotel, the facilities and decors are a bit aged. TV screen was small by current standard and they can do better with the coffee.
