LETE Hostel

8.9/10

Xining is a fantastic, vibrant city, and my biggest regret is not staying longer; it deserves way more time than just a quick transit stop thanks to its incredible food scene, night markets, and laid-back vibe. During my visit, I stayed at LETE Hostel, which serves as a solid, character-rich base for exploring the region. The top-floor communal space has real history and soul, beautifully flooded with sunlight, packed with green plants, a massive library, and even three cute resident birds. The ladies at the front desk are incredibly kind-hearted and welcoming, always doing their best to help out. Location-wise, it’s perfect - super convenient for the night markets, local food stalls, and bus stops, plus they offer safe bike storage for cyclists. For the price of a private room, the value and hospitality here are unbeatable, and I would absolutely stay again - and next time, I’ll be giving Xining the full week it deserves.

Good location near the park entrance. The place is fairly modern (to my surprise). The room temperature was comfortable when it was freezing outside and they have electric blankets which I didn't use. You can get a room of the mountains behind in my room on the 3rd floor and the have elevators. All the basically toiletries are there and the toilet is spotlessly clean The breakfast is pretty basic (3 veggies, egg and a bun)

I recently stayed at Lone Star with my child, and overall, the experience was quite good and I'd recommend it, though there are a few minor details I hope they'll improve. First, the pros: * **Environment and Cleanliness:** The hotel is located in the Gobi Desert and has a very futuristic design. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom had no odor, which exceeded my expectations. * **Observation Deck:** The observation deck offers excellent views. Stargazing at night was truly spectacular; there was no light pollution, and the Milky Way was clearly visible. My child was so excited they didn't want to come down. * **Children's Facilities:** There's a dedicated children's playground and that popular big slide. My child went down it dozens of times, completely wearing themselves out. It's very family-friendly. * **Front Desk Service:** A definite thumbs-up! When we checked in, the front desk attendant proactively told us that the price we booked at was higher than the current day's rate. She advised us to cancel and rebook on Ctrip, saving us several hundred yuan. Such honest service is rare these days, and I was very touched. * **Butler Service:** The overall attitude was great, and they were very responsive to requests, helping with luggage and delivering items promptly. Now for the shortcomings, mainly two points: * **Butler Response Time:** Perhaps due to limited staff, there were a few times when I messaged the butler on WeChat and received slow replies. For example, it took nearly half an hour to get a bottle of mineral water. I suggest increasing staff during peak hours. * **Outdated Shuttle Vehicles:** This was the biggest drawback. The hotel's shuttle buses and pick-up/drop-off vehicles looked old and worn. The seats were tattered, they rattled loudly when moving, and the brakes felt a bit shaky, making us uneasy. For such a stylish hotel, these vehicles are really out of place. I strongly recommend replacing them with new ones. In summary, the positives outweigh the negatives. The environment and experience were well worth the price. If they could update the vehicles, it would be perfect. I would consider staying here again if I visit Shuishang Yadan in the future, and I hope the hotel continues to improve.

The hotel is in a very convenient downtown location, and the front desk staff are excellent! Plus, there's free parking and a good breakfast. The only downside is that with several hotels sharing the same elevators, there's often a long wait. Overall, I'm very satisfied!

The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Yushu Museum. The atmosphere is cozy and features a distinct ethnic style. The service was attentive and warm; the owner even gifted us Hada scarves and ******* incense, and provided thoughtful airport drop-off service.

The hotel is strategically located, and several surrounding attractions are relatively close. The same hotel is cheaper than the surrounding area, and the price is really conscience. The boss has a very good service attitude and personally leads the way to help parking. The hotel has someone to help with luggage, the service attitude is superb, clean and tidy, and the bedding is white and clean. There are also disposable towels and disposable toilet pads. There is no smell in the room. It is quieter near the community at night. The boss also equipped the room with an electric fan. Must be all five-star praise 👍👍👍

The location is super close to Chaka Salt Lake. The young lady was very welcoming; I asked her to show us the rooms first, and she patiently guided us. I saw the rooms were really nice and clean, so we decided to stay. The price was excellent, and I was so happy with the environment – clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was also very good, and every staff member was enthusiastic. They refilled the breakfast promptly; it was delicious and very convenient. If you're visiting Chaka Salt Lake, definitely stay here – the price is just right. It was also a very comfortable stay, and the food was good too. I didn't take any photos of the hotel, but the environment is exactly as they advertised.

The room is OK, the standard of a comfortable hotel, but it is not soundproof and too noisy. You can hear people talking outside. However, the service attitude of the front desk is very good, and they also gave souvenirs to the children. The children are very happy. The price in summer is definitely more expensive than usual. This cannot be avoided when traveling with children. It is very close to Chaka Salt Lake. The Sichuan restaurant next to the hotel is delicious

I drove my car there, and the parking was awesome. The hotel’s location is right near the water, and has a very beautiful view (they gave me a free upgrade to a lake view). The staff treated me so kindly, and I don’t think they have many foreign guests there, especially coming by car and alone ! One of the staff there could even speak English!!! I was so surprised. Highly recommend this hotel, and also, I highly recommend paying the extra money for a Lake view….it is worth it !

Room is very spacious. There is no door to the dry area of the toilet, which makes it very open. the dry area is very spacious (seems like there used to be a bathtub) with no shelf or dressing table to put your stuff in the toilet dry area. there is glass doors at shower and toilet bowl area and its is very cramp. not sure why the space proportion is so different. Provides simple breakfast, amenities are well provided. Level 1 is a restaurant.
