The lady at the front desk was incredibly helpful. When she overheard me mentioning I didn't bring an umbrella as I was about to head out with my two kids, she immediately offered a foldable umbrella for us to use. She was so thoughtful and attentive, and always answered all our questions kindly and patiently. The housekeeping staff was also very polite when changing our towels. Three days and two nights just wasn't enough, and we even got a discount for extending our stay by an extra night. I'm so glad my first trip to Hualien with my kids was at such a wonderful hotel. Highly recommend!

The room facilities were quite new, and the staff were always friendly and smiling, making for a very comfortable and worthwhile stay. The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring local delicacies like roselle tea, and even included a vegetarian section, which was a great bonus!

Although it's a pet-friendly accommodation, it's very clean and the room is spacious. The staff are all very kind. Since we were on the second floor and had heavy luggage, a staff member thoughtfully helped us carry it upstairs. It was very quiet at night. Highly recommended.

The location is super convenient, right near Kaohsiung Main Station. Plus, there's the Zhengzhong Pork Chop Rice and Liuhe Night Market nearby. I dropped off my luggage in the morning and headed out to explore. Great value for money, definitely worth a visit!

I stayed here for a few days and can only recommend it! The train and bus stations are just a few steps away, and the city center is within walking distance. The room was spacious and comfortable, with many thoughtful touches such as free coffee, snacks, and even ice cream!
A wonderful experience, surrounded by mountains and streams, breathing in the fresh forest air and enjoying the natural scenery. The hotel's facilities were great, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Due to its secluded location, all meals were enjoyed at the hotel. The ingredients were quite unique, and I especially loved the blanched seasonal vegetables at dinner 😋. A pleasant fragrance permeated the entire hotel; I wondered if it was used to deter insects!

This was my first time staying at Mulan Motel in Taichung, and overall it was great! However, you can tell the room's decor and furniture are a bit dated. Before going to sleep, I accidentally noticed a mirror in the corner of the ceiling. It reflected the light fixture above the headboard, and I could clearly see a lot of dust. But I guess that's a spot where not many people would think to clean.
This trip to Hualien was mainly for Farglory Ocean Park, and this B&B is super close to it – within walking distance! I absolutely loved that I could see the ocean directly from my room. The Chinese breakfast provided was excellent, and the fact that it's pet-friendly is just a perfect 100 points. I'll definitely be back next time! ❤️❤️👍

The Japanese-speaking staff are very responsive to inquiries, kind, and provide helpful extra information. The hotel and rooms are spotlessly clean. On the first floor, there's a hot water dispenser with complimentary coffee, oolong tea, green tea, and jasmine tea. The location is excellent, with easy access to Taichung Second Market and Taichung Park. Miyahara, Chun Shui Tang (the original store), and Taichung Station are all within walking distance. The nearest convenience store is about 200m east across the street.
The downsides are that the bath towels in the room show a lot of wear, and the bathroom shelf is a bit crooked. There are no amenities, so you need to bring your own. A morning stroll to Taichung Park is lovely and makes you feel like a local.

The B&B is about a 10-minute walk from the Hualien Transfer Station. The area is mainly homestays, with a 7-11, supermarket, and breakfast shop nearby. Several souvenir shops are also nearby, making it convenient for shopping. Buses run from the station to the airport, Qixingtan, Taroko, and other popular attractions.
Check-in was easy, and the host was quick to respond. There's an elevator and drinking water on the first floor. Shower gel and shampoo are provided in the room, and the hot water supply is stable and plentiful. However, the faucets are stagnant, so you'll need to bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash cup. The TV offers a wide variety of channels, including YouTube.
The day after our stay, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake shook the entire bed, but the elevator was unaffected.

Wwszsmxiaoji****Extremely satisfied!
1. Service: All the staff at the hotel provided very thoughtful, meticulous, and attentive service. Everyone had a sunny smile on their face and was able to respond to our needs immediately at any time.
2. Facilities: The hotel room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the toiletries in the bathroom were also of good quality. The TV had many channels, and the KTV added another layer of fun for us.
3. Breakfast: It was incredibly rich and very delicious; we still can't stop thinking about it.
I will definitely bring my family to stay here again next time!
AAnonymous UserFirst of all, this is a very old hotel that has seen truly better days. While maintained well, it has retained it's original furnishings and decor from the 1980s and 1990s. Staying here reminded me of my childhood travelling with my family in the 80s. The actual room does not look anything like the ones shown on the website. The hard floors mean you should wear their slippers or bring your own room slippers. The hot spring water advertised is just hot spring water pipes that go into your bathtub. There is a step that emulates hot spa step in the bathtub.
The breakfast was good with nice braised meat and eggs that you can put over your rice or porridge. There's also hot soy milk. But no hot tea, only coffee. The staff look tired but hard working.
There was a grumpy older lady receiptionist when we checked in and she was pretty rough in the check in process. E.g. ”if you don't put a number here, and you leave things in the hotel, we'll just throw them away! Just to tell you first.”
Room was quite small or cosy, depending on your perspective. The only thing new was the air-conditioner. The TV set had all the settings for channels but none worked. Internet wifi was not quite working too.

GGuest UserThe location is fantastic, super convenient. The facilities are okay, but a bit pricey for what you get. It's not suitable for babies; the crib has metal bars that a baby could easily bump their head on, making it hard for them to sleep and causing them to cry a lot.

AAnonymous UserA beautiful, historic homestay near the port with excellent service. High-quality bedding and comfortable beds. Walking in and hearing Celine Dion made it even more quaint 😂
Jack was super helpful with information about the ferry tickets, and even made an extra trip back to the port because I Ieft my umbrella behind. And his mom was very kind and welcoming too.
A note to those who may be sensitive: there was a faint musty smell, which I’ve found common to many hotels and guest houses in humid climates like Taiwan. Earplugs are recommended for light sleepers, since you can hear courtyard and street noise in the room. Plan ahead for cash: nearby restaurants are cash-only, and the nearest atm is at 7-11, about a 20 minute walk away.
DDanieltrI loved my stay at Slack BnB. It is easy to find in the village. The facilities are very clean, everything is well-planned and guests have a lot of opportunities to rest. Very cosy Dorms with built-in Beds, which have a good quality. The guests are very respectful and quiet. There is a kitchen to provide food, slacklines in the garden, lots of space to hang out and a Beamer where you can watch YouTube etc.
The staff is very motivated to keep everything clean, this can be seen in various facets.
The staff and the owner are so helpful which I appreciated much. I can definitely recommend this hostel to everybody when visiting the island.
GGuest UserThe soundproofing in room 501 was terrible. The foreigners across the hall were so noisy and rowdy that I couldn't get any rest. At 10:40 PM, when it finally quieted down for a bit, I could clearly hear the beeping from the air conditioner next door, and then the noise continued late into the night. I was prepared for the hard bed, but not bringing slippers was a mistake. The water pressure in the sink was too strong, splashing everywhere, so I had to painstakingly use a tiny trickle of water each time. The only upside was the adjustable hot water in the shower (lucky, I guess?). For the price, this room really delivered, but one stay is enough for me. This time, I was here for the Baishatun Mazu Pilgrimage in Beigang on April 16th to respectfully welcome the holy sedan. I hope this review offers some reference for fellow pilgrims and kind-hearted people.
GGuest UserFor the price I think it is a decent option. Air conditioning works and bed is fairly comfortable. No staff but check in process is fairly smooth, just FYI they will probably text you the password for the door so need to provide a phone number or contact them ahead of time. Location is about 20 minutes from the station and about 30-40 minutes walk from the famous ”brown road.” You can also borrow their bikes though I decided not to. The ”Tofu sheet' place is close by.
LLi TzuA great B&B. It's very relaxing to stay in the B&B. The bed is very comfortable. The layout is also suitable for my brother and I. We can each have a bed and there is a partition in the middle, so there will be no interference when sleeping. The location of the B&B is very close to the old street and very convenient. The owner of the B&B also responded to the message promptly and actively solved our problems. It has achieved the holiday relaxation we wanted. 😎
AAnonymous UserThe room was fantastic, with a bathtub and a beautiful view. The balcony also offered stunning scenery. The ventilation was excellent, and the thoughtful addition of a heater and electric blanket made everything perfect. I definitely want to come back! Breakfast was also outstanding – hot and delicious. I loved it!
