The hotel is conveniently located among many of the city’s most popular attractions, making it easy to explore the area on foot. Although the staff were not very talkative, they were incredibly helpful and always willing to assist us whenever needed.
The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We especially loved the traditional architecture, which added a unique charm to our stay and made the experience feel much more authentic. Definitely worth trying if you’d like to experience a classic local-style accommodation.

I first heard about this place on Instagram and thought it was so beautiful. Its incredible structure is just as gorgeous when you see it in person.
The staff were very accommodating and attentive. It was so cool because they had a machine that translates different languages depending on what you speak. This was the first time I’d ever seen anything like it and found it very helpful as I don’t speak Mandarin.
Breakfast isn’t included but you can purchase their set meals for 37 yuan and have it while looking out at the beautiful courtyard. If you need train station transfer, you can easily ask for it for 80 yuan per way which made my check in and check out process smooth.
They also allow you to try on their cultural costumes for free. If you need hair, makeup and photography services than it’s 499 yuan. As a solo traveler, I decided to try it out. They were very nice, however I definitely struggled with the very white makeup since I myself am very tanned. In their defense they did their best with trying to give me something darker and in the makeup room it seemed fine. But with the different lighting outside and the camera flash, when I got my pictures back I basically had a ghost face 😞 The foundation also wasn’t applied to my neck and arms, so it was very apparent. I’ve asked the photographer to help standardize my skin so hopefully that helps whenever it’s done. You receive a total of 9 retouches photos as part of the package. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup or are traveling with others then they can take pictures for you instead.
The place is very convenient for finding restaurants and if you’re primary goal is the visit the old town. It’s very close by, so I was able to explore easily and then return to the hotel for breaks when needed.
Lastly, you can use their laundry machines and get laundry pellets for free. Ideally this is great. But I will say the drying part is dreadful. The instructions say to do the 2/3 rule. However, even when I followed and put a small batch of clothes in it never dried. I tried once for 1.5 hours, then again for another hour, and still nothing. That was probably the only real part that was frustrating.

Stayed here for 2 nights, but in two different rooms, so I got to experience both.
Overall, the hotel has a great view and a generally comfortable stay. It is a bit far from most main attractions, although it is relatively close to the railway station. There is a nearby bus station (Line 6), but getting to the Ancient Town and other popular areas is still quite far, so using Didi is often the easier option. The lobby also provides tea, coffee, and water, which is a nice touch.
My first room was on the 2nd floor and felt very modern and new. The bed was especially comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well-designed — I really liked this room.
My second room was on the 5th floor, and there is no lift in the building, so carrying luggage up the stairs can be quite tiring. The staff kindly helped me, which I really appreciated, especially since it was quite a lot of effort. This room had a nice view, but it felt a bit older compared to the first one, especially the bathroom.
If I had to choose, I personally preferred the first room for its newer feel and comfort, but both stays were still pleasant in different ways.
This guesthouse is located right at the best viewing spot for the Duoyishu Rice Terraces. However, due to its geographical location, the parking lot isn't directly in front of the property. You'll need to arrange for the guesthouse's van to pick you up and drop you off. If you've finished exploring the nearby terraces and don't have your luggage, it's just a few minutes' walk back to the guesthouse by taking the stairs down from the side. The room looks exactly like the pictures, no discrepancies at all – it's really beautiful! Stargazing at night was also absolutely amazing. Great value for money, highly recommended!

We had the best stay at MuKa Pastoral Manor during our Yunnan trip.
The property has a true resort-like atmosphere, complemented by exceptional butler service. Upon check-in, we were added to a dedicated WeChat group with the hotel team. Since there is no telephone in the room, guests can simply send any request or question via WeChat, and the staff respond almost instantly.
The hotel also uses the group chat to share daily reminders about breakfast hours, afternoon tea, the complimentary photoshoot, tea sessions, and the nightly bonfire activities. It made communication very convenient and personalized.
One experience that really impressed us was when we had to leave before breakfast hours for an early sightseeing trip. We asked if they could prepare something simple for us, and they thoughtfully packed bread, boiled eggs, milk, and local snacks. It was an unexpected gesture that we truly appreciated.
We stayed in a Level 2 duplex-style room with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, making it perfect for a family or a group of four. The room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with an oxygen supply system and a dehumidifier. The butler also took the initiative to explain how to use the oxygen system and shared useful advice on managing altitude sickness, especially after learning about our previous and upcoming destinations.
The afternoon tea and nightly bonfire experience are held on Level 5, which also features a cozy mini library. While most of the books are in Chinese, guests are free to browse and enjoy the space. We particularly enjoyed the traditional yak butter tea experience around the bonfire in the evening.
Although the property is located about 20 minutes by Didi from Shangri-La Ancient Town, transportation is very convenient and ride-hailing services are readily available. The hotel also provides complimentary transfers to and from Shangri-La Railway Station, which was a nice added benefit.
What truly sets MuKa Pastoral Manor apart is its outstanding hospitality and beautiful natural surroundings. The farm, courtyard, and open spaces create a peaceful retreat close to nature. My favorite part was waking up each morning to breathtaking views of Shika Snow Mountain (石卡雪山) right outside the window.
Overall, this was one of the most memorable stays of our trip. Between the attentive service, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and stunning scenery, I would highly recommend MuKa Pastoral Manor to anyone visiting Shangri-La.
I speak highly of the place, but if there is one area for improvement, it would be the breakfast selection. Given the overall standard and level of service they provide, I would have expected a slightly higher-quality breakfast offering. It felt somewhat underwhelming, with very basic Western options (bread, egg, jam) and Asian offerings (Mi Xian), along with milk, coffee, and juice. The juice also did not seem freshly prepared, but rather packaged.

I had a wonderful stay here and truly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere is warm, peaceful, and beautifully decorated in a ******* style, giving the place a unique cultural feeling.
The owner is very kind and welcoming. Although they cannot speak English, they made a great effort to communicate and help with everything, which made me feel very comfortable and well cared for.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well designed with clearly separated areas. Complimentary tea was provided, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The location is also excellent — close to the main walking street and surrounded by many delicious restaurants.
Another highlight is the free pick-up and drop-off service, as well as the tasty snacks provided by the hotel. These thoughtful details made the stay even more memorable.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with local charm and a genuine ******* atmosphere. Don’t miss the chance to try yak meat while you are here! 😊

I've always loved staying in Chinese garden hotels and have experienced many across different regions, but this one's environment is by far my favorite. The Pine Garden is the most beautiful, grand and elegant. With a clear blue sky and sunshine, it truly surpasses even the landscapes of Jiangnan. In the morning, the light streams through the windows facing the courtyard, filling the room with warmth. At night, the silhouettes of the pine trees resemble graceful Dai dances, which is quite charming.
I had originally planned to visit a famous garden cafe outside the ancient city after checking in, but then I saw how much better the hotel's own backyard was—it was truly exceptional. So, I immediately went back to my room, grabbed my Zitao tea set, and brewed coffee and black tea under the Ligustrum trees. My family and I enjoyed the gentle breeze, listening to the rustling leaves and gurgling water, admiring the blooming magnolias and the swaying goldfish. This became the highlight of our slow-paced Jianshui trip. I also saw other guests reading on the traditional 'beauty's rest' benches and observing the fish pond with great interest. This, I thought, is what coming to Jianshui is all about—letting time slow down a bit.
The room included a private small courtyard, a small living room that doubled as a tea room, a bedroom, and a very spacious bathroom. There were also Jianshui cultural books by Chen Lei's comic team, which you could finish in half an hour to learn about Jianshui. In the evening, we received welcome fruits, and the morning's caya rice noodles were as good as, if not better than, those from external vendors. The room was incredibly quiet at night—we were truly in the heart of the ancient city, yet just a wall away felt like a secluded paradise.
The intangible cultural heritage performance directly opposite the hotel starts at 8:30 PM. It's high quality, great value for money, and definitely worth seeing. The hotel is also very close to the Confucius Temple.
It's really fragrant to come to Lijiang to play here! It's convenient to eat, drink and play! The clerk is super caring and helps with luggage! The room is clean and beautiful, the toiletries are complete, the bedding is soft and comfortable to sleep, and the stay is as relaxed as home, and the price/performance ratio is directly full!

The hotel's hot water for showering is very hot and very comfortable. I stayed in too many hotels and B&Bs along the way, and the shower experience at night would be very bad. This one has a large amount of water in the shower room, and the whole shower process is very enjoyable. The hotel also has a laundry drying area, which is very user-friendly. Parents and children travel with their children's clothes. There are more accumulated here, wash and dry them in one go, and then prepare for the next stop. I also want to thank the management here. The child had stomach discomfort, and the store manager took us to the health center for injections by bike. The pick-up and drop-off service is very considerate and also considerate for us
Five-star recommendation for Snow Mountain Wake Up Homestay! The rooms are spotlessly clean, and the bedding is soft and pristine, making for a truly comfortable sleep that washes away travel fatigue. The staff are attentive and thoughtful, always on hand to help with any issues, which was both considerate and heartwarming. The homestay's private terrace offers an exceptional view, perfect for snapping amazing photos of the snow-capped mountains – the photo-op rate is super high! Every evening there are complimentary fireworks displays, and they also organize various special recreational activities. Both the scenery and the experience are top-notch, making the entire stay impeccable. It's my top choice when visiting this area, and I'll definitely be back. The picture I uploaded was taken from the hotel terrace, it's absolutely beautiful!

AAnonymous UserSu Ye Homestay offers Wabi-sabi style rooms with old wood, rough pottery, and natural stone, complemented by autumn floral arrangements. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and every photo turns out beautifully. The room is well-equipped with storage, drinking water, and tea/coffee facilities. The bathrobes are soft, the lighting is gentle, and the smart home system is easy to operate. Overall, it's clean and peaceful, and after a long day of traveling on the plateau, returning to the room is incredibly therapeutic. The attention to detail is evident everywhere, the service is attentive, and the stay was a wonderful experience!
GGuest UserThe staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They confirmed my check-in details and the hotel's location in advance. Upon arrival, they immediately offered to help with my luggage and even assisted with purchasing tickets for the Song Dynasty City show (I didn't realize discounted tickets needed to be bought a day in advance, but the hotel managed to get them for me). They were consistently warm and welcoming whenever I saw them.
The breakfast was plentiful and, more importantly, delicious, with a fantastic view from the restaurant.
The room was spacious and modern, featuring a double vanity and a large dressing mirror, perfect for two women to get ready simultaneously. My friend was extremely pleased.
Initially, I was a bit worried based on some user-uploaded photos on Amap, but thankfully, the hotel's photos on Trip.com were accurate and trustworthy, not misleading. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.
GGuest UserI've lost count of how many times I've stayed at Meishan Inn. It's truly my favorite inn in Dali Ancient City!
The location is superb, extremely close to all the fun spots around Renmin Road and the ancient city, yet it's incredibly quiet at night, not noisy at all. The owner's service is incredibly thoughtful and meticulous; any questions or requests are handled perfectly. The inn itself is beautifully decorated, making it a perfect place to unwind and relax. I could easily spend an entire afternoon doing nothing but sitting in the courtyard. I genuinely recommend everyone to stay here!
AAgathe2This hotel was the best stay of my trip in Sichuan / Yunnan. I cherish the countryside and i was apply to go out of the city to enjoy the slow life, the real life with nature and animals. This stay gave me everything!
The owners, 仁安 里 and Jiren, welcomed me like a was family. I was starving and they invited me to have dinner with them. It was really nice and i felt really included into their community.
The room was spacious, luminous, and confortable with a huge bed ! I really loved staying on the sofa in the morning, when the sun was blazing. The breakfast was good and generous.
My favorite day was to discover the surrounding of the hotel, walking in the village, seeing all the cute animals (cows, baby cows, dogs, cats, poneys, roosters).
The owner was so considerate to me, he drove me to Shangri-La city center because no taxis were available. Visiting the old town, i was so happy to have chosen a hotel away from this touristic place. He also picked me up and drop me off at the train station.
I would absolutely recommend and return to this hotel. I loved it very much. It gave me the opportunity to relax, discover ******* culture and amazing people, and live the slow life.
Thanks again, and Tashi Delek !
PPaipaidaiwangCielComing to Shangri-La, the luckiest thing was staying at this incredible guesthouse! Opening the window, you're greeted by misty green mountains – the wilderness vibe is absolutely immersive. The room was clean and comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling window offered stunning views. The lawn in the courtyard, along with the adorable pets, made for fantastic photo opportunities 📸.
But the biggest surprise was the evening! The owner was incredibly warm and invited us to join them for a bonfire, BBQ, and singing. The charcoal sizzled, and the evening breeze carried the songs as everyone clinked glasses and chatted, laughing. Any sense of unfamiliarity instantly melted away; it was so warm and relaxing.
More than just accommodation, this felt like a cozy haven in Tibet. The scenery, environment, service, and human touch were all perfect. If you're traveling to Shangri-La, you can't go wrong choosing this place – it's a guaranteed winner! 🌿
GGuest UserTook my mom out for a trip and saw Aling's live stream on Douyin. She came across as very practical, genuine, and unpretentious, so we decided to stay for a few days. Overall, it was a really good experience. As soon as you enter the courtyard, there's a water feature with koi fish, which gives a vibrant and lively feel. The two young men working there were incredibly attentive and patient in answering our questions, and their demeanor was very refined. We also had the good fortune to meet a compatible travel couple, Sister Liu and her husband, at Aling's place. It felt like such a serendipitous encounter for people from the north and south to meet here. In the evening, we gathered in Aling's courtyard to chat, drink tea, and share our travel experiences. It was truly delightful. Thank you, Aling, for bringing us all together!
GGuest UserThe view from the accommodation is absolutely stunning! It’s located right in the ancient town, making it super convenient to get around, with endless food options nearby. You can easily take a stroll around the old town at night. Most importantly, the staff provided exceptional service—I was beyond impressed. If I could give them a million stars out of a hundred, I absolutely would!
The staff were incredibly helpful. They carried our luggage for us (which was a lifesaver since dragging bags through the ancient town is quite tough) and even helped us plan our itinerary to find the most convenient routes. Their recommendations were spot-on! On top of that, they made us delicious tea every single day, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing.
If you are visiting Lijiang, I highly recommend staying here. It’s truly wonderful!
RRenjian1989I had a wonderful two-day stay in Yuhu Village, and the guesthouse I booked by chance turned out to be a fantastic surprise! It has a lovely courtyard, not too big and not too small, with an olive tree standing gracefully in the middle. A few cats laze around in the courtyard, looking incredibly content and not at all afraid of people. One even waited for me on the wall when I woke up in the morning! The guesthouse's location is excellent; it's right by the Yuhu Village Square, just a short bus ride from the visitor center. Yuhu Village also offers a variety of activities, making it convenient for horse riding and hiking. I really enjoyed sunbathing and feeling the breeze in the courtyard, chatting with the owner by the fire in the lobby, drinking tea during the day, and having a nightcap in the evening. I wish I could have stayed a few more days.
