The hotel is located in the city centre right by the harbour, with magnificent view of the opposite coast, the Arctic Cathedral, and the surrounding mountains. Thanks to the downtown location, it is easy to get to the hotel by bus from the airport. (The airport express bus stops right outside the hotel, while the local buses stop 2 streets away.) There are numerous restaurants, shops and supermarkets within a 10 minute walking distance from the hotel. The check in and check out processes were fast and the staffs were efficient. My room is clean, comfortable and quiet. Hot water came quickly in the shower, and the WiFi is easy to access. There are water dispensers beside the lift lobby on every floor. While the room rate is not cheap, the rate of this hotel is slightly less than the rates of similar hotels in the vicinity.
The room wasn't huge, but it was perfectly adequate for our needs. We booked a sea-view room on the highest floor, the 10th. The two large windows offered a truly stunning view, with distant snow-capped mountains and city lights clearly visible.
Downstairs, the lobby provides complimentary tea and coffee. Conveniently, there's also a Best Arctic office right next to the lobby. We booked all three of our day tours there, and the departure point was very close to the hotel. All in all, the location is excellent and incredibly convenient.
Check-in was a bit slow, so be prepared to be patient.
I stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of October 2025, and I have to mention that I saw the Northern Lights from the hotel lobby rooftop both nights! There's a supermarket right next to the hotel that even sells sashimi-grade salmon. The room view was also beautiful, and the hotel lobby offers panoramic views, which was fantastic! We walked to and from the airport; the weather was good then, and it took about 20 minutes with our large suitcases.
The room was spacious and new, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing – the best and most diverse we had on our entire trip, even better than the Radisson Blu in Oslo. It was incredible value for money. My only minor concern was that the door automatically locks itself one minute after being closed, which felt a bit less secure when leaving the room.
The room was small, and there were very few power outlets. The USB socket on one side of the bedside was broken, but I was able to borrow a power strip with three outlets from the front desk, and they told me there were more outlets under the bed. Without that power strip, there would only have been two outlets plus one USB port available by the window.
If you leave early, the hotel front desk offers a simple breakfast, which was decent. During normal breakfast hours, gluten-free options are also available.
The shower stall in the bathroom was very small, making it a bit awkward for a woman to shower comfortably. The floor tiles in the shower had a steep slope for drainage, so I had to really grip with my feet to avoid bumping into the right-angled, double-door shower enclosure.
The front desk staff member who checked me in on the first day was quite good; she informed us that the aurora would be very strong that night and the next, advising us to keep an eye on the sky.
The room was given to us on the first floor for convenience of carrying our luggage. The nearby sea view is very beautiful but very clear. The room is also very big, but the hot water is not hot enough and the bath water is lukewarm and cool. So you have to take a bath early, otherwise you have to wash it the next morning. Maybe there are too many residents and everyone shares the hot water, so The hot water is not hot enough. Breakfast is very basic and you can eat a little before heading to the airport. The neighborhood is actually quite nice and leisurely.
Stayed at Tromsø Cabins during our trip twice. The location is excellent — by the river, with mountain views, yet only a few minutes’ drive to the city. Our cabin was warm, clean, and practical, with a small kitchenette for simple meals. Parking was free and convenient, and there were plenty of EV charging points available, which made our road trip much easier. A cosy and quiet place to stay, perfect as a base for exploring Tromsø and the surrounding nature.
This is the northernmost hotel I have ever stayed in. I flew from Oslo to Tromso early in the morning. Although I arrived at the hotel very early, the front desk lady was very enthusiastic to check in. The room facilities are very complete, especially the bed and interior decoration are very comfortable and warm. In the morning, you can see the beautiful scenery of the town covered with snow when you open the curtains, which is simply refreshing. The breakfast also impressed me. There are many choices, and you can feel the local characteristics and care in every bite. Especially the hot dishes and freshly ground coffee provide full energy for the day's journey. In addition, the hotel is also very conveniently located. You can walk to the main attractions of the town, and it is also very safe to walk around at night.
Overall, this stay experience is very pleasant and it is definitely an unforgettable memory! Looking forward to the opportunity to come here for vacation again next time.
This room wasn’t as expected as I stayed in room 703 before. This room 225 was small for 3 adults. No space to open luggages. Lack of charging port. One charging point next to entrance of the door and placed so high that our cables wasn’t long enough to reach we have to pull a chair (see photo luggage height) The tv is spoilt too, u have to adjusted up and down to get TV to be working!!! You have to informed reception to open door to parking so that you can park your car inside, just pay a fee. I love the breakfast buffet.
The hotel environment is very good, the most impressive thing is that the breakfast is very rich, far exceeding expectations. The only fly in the ointment is that there is no free parking space, but parking nearby is also very convenient.
