Our stay at the Shangri-La Jinan was a fantastic experience. We decided to visit Jinan on a whim and, trusting the Shangri-La brand, booked the hotel on the very day of our arrival. The front desk attendant kindly upgraded us to a room with a better view. Overlooking the cityscape of Baotu Spring and Quancheng Square, the room offered an amazing view. The hotel is situated in the prime location of Quancheng, right across from Quancheng Square. Baotu Spring and Wulongtan (Five Dragon Pool) are within walking distance, and Daming Lake and Kuanhouli are also very close by, making it extremely convenient to explore Jinan's core attractions. In addition, all the staff we encountered were very friendly. We arrived late at night, and when we needed temporary children's amenities, extra pillows, and blankets, housekeeping delivered them promptly. A really great experience.

My partner and I escaped to the seaside in Yantai for the weekend and stayed at the Hilton Yantai Golden Coast. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our experience. The hotel is located right by the sea, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped, offering plenty of picturesque spots for photos – you can snap great pictures just by strolling around. Our room had excellent natural light, was clean and tidy, and the facilities were well-maintained. The mattress provided just the right amount of comfort, allowing us to rest well after a day of exploring. Anina, a staff member, was very friendly; she always greeted us with a smile when we passed by and patiently answered all our questions without making us feel awkward. The breakfast offered fresh ingredients and a wide variety of choices. We loved sitting by the window, enjoying our meal while gazing at the distant sea view. The hotel's gym and pool were also very clean. Just a short walk from the hotel, there's a beach. In the evening, my loved one and I took a walk along the coastline, feeling the sea breeze – it was incredibly atmospheric. The hotel has a generally peaceful and romantic vibe, without any sense of hustle and bustle, making it convenient whether you want to relax and watch the sea or head out for activities. It's perfect for couples looking for a holiday, creating easy and sweet travel memories. We'd love to come back again the next time we want to see the sea.

The hotel boasts a grand architectural design and numerous rooms, reflecting the style of an established star-rated hotel. Upon entering the room, there was a noticeable musty smell. However, the mattress was very thick and incredibly comfortable to sleep on. We ran out of tissues in the room, but the housekeeper promptly brought some when we requested them. There were no disposable bath liners for the bathtub, and they weren't available for purchase, which is an area where service could definitely be improved. Given its large scale, the hotel could consider offering childcare services similar to Club Med. A kids' play area with soft play structures, slides, and a ball pit would be a great addition, allowing parents to relax. There was no buffet available. With such a large property, inter-departmental communication seems to be an issue. The information provided by the housekeeper for the 1928 Beer Bar's dining options was incorrect. After checking out, the housekeeper asked for a good review. I provided some suggestions, but the housekeeper, 'Dabaitu' (Big White Rabbit), never replied. It feels like the service in northern China is often a 'do-it-because-my-boss-told-me-to' mentality, and any extra requests from guests are seen as an inconvenience. I really liked the breakfast buffet where many of the attendants were older, creating a very harmonious atmosphere, like being cared for by parents while away from home. The breakfast selection was extensive. There are two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor. Cat petting costs 19.9 for children and 29.9 for adults, with single entry and unlimited time. Feeding animals costs 10 yuan, which includes one portion of feed. **However, if you write a good review for 1 yuan, you get fewer carrots than the 10 yuan portion. The animals seemed a bit pathetic, with the little horse constantly kicking the wire fence.** There are two swimming pools, both indoor and outdoor. The buffet at the 1928 Beer Bar is more Western-style. Many people might not be used to it. We tried it, and the quality of the desserts was excellent! There's a beach right behind the hotel, with some rocks, but not too many. You can go tide pooling in the early morning and at night. It's too hot during the day due to strong sun, and there isn't much seafood to find then either. The package included access to the Haiquanwan Hot Springs, but I must mention: it was dirty. There were no tissues or disposable combs in the hair-drying area (only a few scattered combs for everyone to share). With this level of service, I won't be returning. The hotel's location is indeed a bit remote, making it suitable for self-driving. There's a Shandong University cafeteria and museum nearby, which I'd give five stars!

We had a wonderful stay! Matt provided attentive and thoughtful service. The hotel is in a prime downtown location, right by Exit E of the May Fourth Square subway station, making it very easy to get around. We were a group of six traveling over the Golden Week holiday and booked three rooms in total. We contacted the front desk in advance to request that our rooms be on the same floor. Despite the hotel being fully booked for the holiday, The Westin went above and beyond to accommodate us—including flexibly upgrading one of our deluxe suites to a studio suite with partial sea views on the same floor. We were thoroughly impressed! The front desk staff, restaurant crew, and housekeeping team were all warm, welcoming, and greeted us with smiles throughout our stay. They even sent complimentary local Qingdao specialty drinks to our rooms, truly living up to 5-star standards. The swimming pool was not crowded at all; the water temperature was comfortable, and there were several warm whirlpools—perfect for an evening workout or just unwinding. The breakfast buffet was decent: the dining area was spacious, and seating was well-organized. However, given the price point, it would have been even better if there were more pastry and dessert options.

The first impression was that it was clean, beautiful, and the room was exceptionally quiet and cozy. The front desk staff were very warm and provided excellent service, thoughtfully letting me know the breakfast time and even giving a considerate heads-up about the bird repeller. The housekeeping staff were also great, and the ladies were very welcoming. I will definitely stay here again in the future!

The hotel's location is excellent; you can walk directly to the beach from the ground floor. The room we were assigned faced the sea, offering unbeatable ocean views. The seafood and BBQ restaurants nearby are also great, and getting around is convenient. Highly recommended.

We chose this hotel after a lot of searching for our trip to Qingdao with the kids. Its location is fantastic, very close to the Olympic Sailing Center and May Fourth Square, and you can even see the sea. The hotel service was excellent; we arrived quite late on the first day, and the staff were very warm and friendly. They even upgraded our room! The room was spotless, and the soundproofing was great – unlike some hotels where the hallway noise can be an issue. They also gave us vouchers for complimentary drinks. The only minor downside was that one side of the bed didn't have a working charging port. Overall, though, it was a really good stay.

During the National Day holiday, I stayed at Shangri-La Qingdao with my family. The most delightful surprise this time was meeting our butler, Nina. After we checked in, she proactively added me on WeChat. Later, when we inquired about the buffet restaurant's operating hours and dining details, she promptly and thoroughly responded to all our questions. On the morning of our departure, Nina specifically messaged us to remind us about collecting our farewell gift and extended National Day wishes – full of thoughtful details. Due to an unexpected change in our itinerary, we encountered traffic on our way back and planned to have the buffet at the hotel before checking out. After explaining the situation to Nina, she was incredibly understanding of our arrangements. Her communication was gentle and patient; she didn't rigidly adhere to policies but fully empathized with the inconvenience of traveling with family. Many hotel services are just routine, but Nina's genuine dedication was truly palpable. After a tiring journey, this kind and thoughtful service brought our Qingdao trip to a perfect close. If I visit Qingdao again, I will definitely stay at Shangri-La once more, and I look forward to meeting Nina again! We hope to see Nina in Harbin too!

This hotel brand reminds me of when the economy was booming. Back in 2017, I stayed at the Wanda Vista in Hefei for my wedding – it was a super five-star hotel then, though it's been sold and isn't called Vista anymore. This time, I brought my kid to Huangdao and tried the Wanda Vista there. The facilities, location, and decor are good, but to be honest, the hotel is definitely showing its age in the details. It's convenient for drivers, with easy parking and EV charging. Breakfast had a good variety and tasted nice. I'll come back again, next time I'll try the Vista's restaurant. This trip was a quick 'special forces' run, a two-day round trip from Xuzhou to Huangdao.
