The hotel's location is excellent, offering panoramic views of the entire bay. The hotel shuttle bus is convenient, running twice an hour. Breakfast offers a rich variety, including a flavorful miso soup made with fish bones and kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot). The dining area is spacious, and the staff tries their best to seat guests at tables with good views. It wasn't crowded during meal times either. We had dinner at the hotel both nights of our stay, trying the fish set menu, steak set menu, sashimi, and the splendid alfonsino set menu. All were exceptional, especially the sashimi, which was beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. Paired with local beer, it was a fantastic experience. For guests staying more than one night, if you choose to forgo room cleaning, the hotel provides a 1000 JPY voucher that can be used at the hotel's convenience store. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Izu.

The facilities are old but clean and there are many restaurants around and free parking and the staff are very friendly. If you go to Sun Valley Iznagaoka (= main building), there is a very large large bath (7 minutes walk, free shuttle is available at any time). The fatigue of the day is completely washed away. Breakfast is also very delicious to go to the main building. I walk when I come and go, so it digests and it's really hard. I'll go back.

I had a great stay at this hotel! It’s located just a short walk from the beach, which made it super convenient for relaxing seaside moments. The view from my room was absolutely beautiful — I could see the ocean clearly, especially during sunrise and sunset. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. For the location and the view, I think the price was very reasonable. It’s a perfect choice for anyone looking to enjoy a beach getaway without breaking the bank. I would definitely stay here again!

The sea view is unbeatable, and it's a 5-6 minute walk from the station. They offer a shuttle service to the station upon checkout, by appointment. A centipede ran into my room... but they changed my room when I requested it, which was fine. I stayed for three days, and the breakfast was decent. The service was typical Japanese, meaning you couldn't really find any fault with it. The biggest surprise was on the day of checkout: there was a huge typhoon in Izu, all trains were stopped. While we were feeling helpless at the station, a hotel front desk staff member arrived! They told us that because we had previously booked a shuttle, they were taking us to the larger Izu-Kogen station! I was so touched! That's truly Japanese service, solving an urgent problem! Overall, it was really good!

It's a bit out of the way, a 10-minute walk from the bus. However, the owner was very friendly and proactively asked guests if they needed to go to the convenience store or attractions. The room was spacious, and there was a saltwater hot spring to soak in. The breakfast buffet offered both Japanese and Western options, but reservations were required. It was delicious and highly recommended!

The location is right in front of the beach and it is the perfect place to stay if u are going to the Shirahama beach. Cleanliness is perfect too but I gave it 4/5 because the rooms are not soundproof. We can hear the footstep from the corridor and above room. The service is perfect too. There is a shuttle bus for the hotel and they let us in from 2:30pm although the actual check in time is 3pm. The staff will wait for u at the front door to give you towel when you come back from the beach. As for the amenities, they have massage services (need additional cost), pool, onsen and etc. But we didn’t use most of the, so don’t know about their quality. So I gave it 4/5.

This is a very old hotel with dated facilities and an old-fashioned Japanese layout. Despite this, it's quite popular with Japanese guests, especially elderly Japanese who choose it for their holidays. The hotel has many rooms and is incredibly quiet. During my stay, there were also two local study camps present. While the hotel advertises a scheduled shuttle service to the station, in practice, you need to book and confirm with the front desk in advance, as the vehicle is small and can easily get full.

There's a bit of history. The large suite room is large, comfortable and hygienic. It is fully equipped, and the best thing is the large window in the room. The view is okay. Of course, it is best to enjoy the independent hot spring in the room, but the price is really expensive because it does not include breakfast and dinner. The room may be newly renovated so it's relatively fresh and clean, but other places really need to be renovated. The fish tank in the lobby has an unpleasant smell. The staff's service attitude is very good and they are very helpful.

HHahuhehuhumaoThere were very few Chinese guests, mostly Japanese families on vacation. We were probably among the rare Chinese guests at this hotel. We chose the Horizon room type, which comes with two private onsen baths. They aren't huge, but they are impeccably clean. Dining was at Ocean, about a 15-minute walk away. The upside is that it's perfect for a leisurely stroll back to your room after dinner to digest your meal. Atami feels like a mini-Chongqing, with very genuine and friendly locals. I'd definitely visit again.

Vvodka17This was my second stay here. The hotel is nestled on a small hill, offering a very quiet environment. I booked the pet-friendly tatami room, and during my stay, I could take out pet supplies, making the tatami area convenient for dining and tea. The room service dining experience felt more comfortable and relaxed than eating in the restaurant, which was a plus. Breakfast was just average, though. One area for improvement: the forks provided with room service meals were too dull; it was difficult to spear meat. I suggest replacing them or using the same type of forks found in the restaurant for breakfast. The hotel's location is quite central on Izu Island, making it ideal for a driving tour around the island. Additionally, there's a small but convenient laundry room on the first floor, on the way to the main public bath. It costs 300 yen per wash, and there's also a dryer available.

GGuest UserBeautiful onsen — our favorite stay in Japan with my family! The traditional breakfast was delicious with a very large selection of dishes. The rooms are gorgeous, quiet, and spacious — and everything was exceptionally clean. The cleaning crew truly does an amazing job. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, making us feel warmly welcomed. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, and having a washer and dryer available for guests was a big plus. Highly recommended — we would love to stay here again!

VV_TripsWaking up to see the Mount Fuji from the room is the highlight. Hot spring is also available in the room. The hotel rooms are spacious and located over the hillside - the most convenient way to commute between buildings are via car/ shuttle bus; walking may take much longer. Lights in the room are a bit too dim to us. Limited amenities are available, with no toothbrush/ toothpaste in room. Futons are available, but self-serve. Access to Laforet and Izu Marriott public hot springs is available. Unfortunately towels are not available in the public bath of Laforet - towels need to brought from hotel room. Standard dinner / breakfast buffets are available.

SSYXFA heaven for car lovers, and I'm lucky to be able to visit this place, and also enjoy the drive experience with a top-up. Location is slightly away from everything so you are stranded unless driving (you should be), and you're just minutes from Gotemba with so much choice for food and drinks compared to the hotels choices that were in my opinion limited and costly. Lastly, as the hotel was a part of the museum, it was a bummer that we had to pay to enter the museum despite the high cost of the hotel.

MMiasmileKanto-Izu Trip in September 2025~ For this Izu trip, we stayed at Atagawakan. After exiting JR Izu-Atagawa Station, I was about to walk to the hotel with my luggage when I saw Atagawakan's shuttle bus pulling up right outside, so I hopped right on. Over the next few days, I noticed the shuttle runs very frequently – I wonder if it's timed with the JR train schedule? It's not actually a long walk, but there are some inclines and declines, which can be a bit tiring. The front desk at Atagawakan always has staff who speak Chinese, making communication very convenient. The overall environment is also excellent, grand and tidy. Although it has the classic layout of an older onsen hotel, it's quite comfortable and cozy. The room was spacious enough, with a balcony directly overlooking the ocean and offering sunrise views. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night, I slept wonderfully. I've had a few experiences with Japanese-style rooms in onsen hotels before, and they were usually quite average, and I didn't sleep well. So I was surprised that here, even with the sound of the waves and direct sunlight from the sunrise early in the morning, neither affected my sleep. The hot springs are on the 4th floor. There aren't many baths, but there are both indoor and outdoor options. I went late, so I practically had the whole place to myself every day, which was very comfortable. There are a few restaurants near the hotel, not a huge selection, but the ones I tried had excellent ingredients, and I was very satisfied with all of them. They are definitely worth trying.

SSaaaaaasaaaaaOnly 9 minutes from Atami Station, no stairs all the way down the slope, check out there is a shuttle bus up the mountain. Guests staying can choose their preferred yukata style. Breakfast is a buffet form, dinner is more old-fashioned Japanese food package, the taste is quite satisfactory. The hotel has more Japanese guests than foreign guests, who may only have 3 or 4 groups. The rooms are spacious and offer tatami-laying services, the sea view is excellent. The day of the fireworks festival will also open the rooftop for guests to watch, the rooftop is completely unobstructed very clear!

GGongchangdelinFacilities: The hotel clearly shows its age, giving off a 'dreamcore' vibe. From the lobby to the room design and style, it felt like stepping back into 80s-90s Japan. The facilities are comprehensive, making it very suitable for families. Cleanliness: Very clean, nothing to fault. Environment: Located on an uphill slope, surrounded by residential areas, it's very quiet. You can also see the ocean horizon from the room, which is beautiful. Service: The service is very Japanese and thorough, they try their best to meet your requests. The front desk staff's English is also good, and they explain the hotel's facilities and restaurants in detail. Food: The buffet at the restaurant is quite good. Summary: A very satisfying stay.

Ggeore_chengThis hotel is perfectly located right by the sea, offering a fantastic environment. Transportation is also quite convenient, with a shuttle bus running between the hotel and Kawazu Station. The breakfast was just okay. If you plan to have dinner, it's definitely best to book in advance. We didn't make a reservation this time and ended up being turned away by both restaurants because they were full. There was nowhere else to eat nearby, so we had to resort to instant noodles.
