The hotel felt really upscale, a true sea-view room. Downstairs, there's a seafood street, and you can even set off fireworks on the beach – it's incredibly romantic, with half sea and half lake. The only downside was the hotel's swimming pool; the indoor one wasn't heated, so it was freezing when I got in. The outdoor hot spring pools were too crowded. Everything else was great.
The room's cleanliness was generally good, but the hotel's location is quite far from the city center, which is really inconvenient without a car. It was hard to get an Uber, but thankfully the front desk staff were great; they helped me call taxis a few times and were very patient, which I appreciate! The hotel is part of a resort. I had fried chicken downstairs, but for other meals, I took a taxi to the city, which cost nearly 100 RMB per trip. If you're staying at the hotel, you get a 10% discount at Ocean Play; remember to mention your room number when buying tickets at the front desk. It's divided into a sauna and a swimming pool. I mistakenly went to the outdoor area of the sauna, thinking it was the famous Instagrammable pool, but there are still outdoor hot tubs there.
This is an absolutely amazing hotel! It's very pleasant and has a fantastic view. The front desk staff are incredibly kind and polite. They're also very responsible. After I checked out, they found my lost item and called me to say they would send it by mail. I had been so upset, blaming myself and feeling anxious, so you can imagine how grateful I was for that call. The Monogram Gangneung hotel staff are truly wonderful and responsible. Thank you so much!
Everything was clean and the staff was so polite. They didn’t rush me out of the room. The photos match the actual room so I was happy about that. The pool and views were amazing. Thank you so much. Will come again. I also loved the location as it’s easy for travelers without cars. I didn’t get a chance to have breakfast as I woke up late but hopefully next time 😊
I had a very comfortable stay for three nights in Gangneung, thanks to how clean and well-maintained the accommodation was.
The breakfast was fairly simple, but more than enough to start the day, and I especially appreciated the sense of space, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and comfortable.
Getting around was easy whether by bus or taxi, and the location made it convenient to visit nearby attractions like Ojukheon and Jungang Market. For those travelling by car, the spacious parking area is definitely a big plus.
There’s also a lovely pine forest path just behind the property, perfect for a quiet stroll. The ocean view from the room really added to the holiday atmosphere, and being able to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset was one of the highlights of staying at Shilla Monogram.
The location was great! The walking trail was nice, and when you go down the walking trail, you can find Wiongchi Port, where you can eat crab and raw fish set. It was delicious. It was a shame that I only stayed for one night. That's right, the sauna was nice. Next time, I want to go long~~🥳💞
Excellent stay. Better than expected. I was worried that it would be crowded at the lobby/ common areas due to proximity to casino which was not a preference. The lobby of convention hotel is grand, peaceful and modern.
I was also worried that it would be inconvenient to reach the ski slopes however the shuttle buses were frequent and you can get to the slopes quickly. The bus stop drop off point is right outside the ticket office for ski passes
Hotel service was welcoming and superb from check in/out to housekeeping. As foreigners we received discount coupons for ski rental and pass. View from room was nice and loved the cream and shower gel etc. Room service was quick and portions are huge. Also how it was delivered was really good too with the robot.
Overall very good and comfortable stay.
The price per quality is not hotel strong point, we paid around 250 USD per night, which can only be attributed to hotel location as the rest is quite mediocre (both in terms of amenities and size of the room). Can be described as a basic 3 star city hotel with self check and check out. There are no coffee shops in the same building so you need to go outside if you want to get some nice coffee (or drink capsules coffee in the room). The check in time is 4 pm which is later than the standard time in South Korea. The view is good though.
Hotel is clean and fun. Our family enjoy much. They have treasure hut and uncountable lego blocks in the room. My girl loves this hotel the most in the whole Seoul trip.
My girl enjoyed the little game in room, the swimming pool, a small warm pool, indoor children playground very very much!
For car parking, we followed the naver map arrive the hotel. When we got there, they didnt allow us to park in front of the hotel, and we need to drive back to their specific parking area, and took shuttle bus back to the hotel again. This action wasted us an hour to go and back, and even waited around 30mins for check in. If they allow us to put down the luggage and do check-in first, and park the car later, that would be much better. It is sad for the 1st impression. And I found the locals would ask the staff to park their car for them to the specific car park. How come this could not be the same to foreign guests?
One more is not good about the dinner buffet. This was paid, W90000. When we got there after swim, around 8-8:30pm, the food left not much. But they close at 9:30pm. They refill slowly slowly.
The elevator was uncomfortably hot because the air conditioning wasn't working, and it felt especially cramped when it was full. This definitely needs improvement. However, the facilities were excellent and very comfortable, and the overall layout was well-designed. What's more, unlike the heated pool in Sokcho which had an unpleasant odor, Samcheok's was perfectly clean and odorless. I'd definitely love to go back.

Very Good
EEEErikaaaTraveling with a 2-year-old child
It was nice that there was a children's playground, an indoor pool, and a large hot spring bath. The child was very satisfied.
The dinner buffet had delicious snow crab and sashimi.
There were various activities on site, as well as a convenience store, restaurant, and cafe, so we could enjoy ourselves all day at the resort.
About 20 cm of snow fell in the middle of the night, but the staff worked hard to shovel it away, which was great.
There were mats laid in the pool to prevent slipping, but they were not all over the place, so the tiled parts were slippery, so please be careful if you have small children.
I asked for bed guards when I checked in, but they never came to install them.

GGuest UserThe ocean view room was truly breathtaking. The rooftop observation deck offers stunning views of both Seoraksan Mountain and the East Sea. The gym boasts ocean views and even doubles as a dance studio. The mango smoothie in the 4th-floor lobby was delicious. A game room in a hotel was a first for me! It's only a 10-minute jog to the Sokcho Ferris Wheel, and right behind the hotel is a port famous for its fresh seafood and crabs.
LLeia K.The Orchid Hotel was everything and more as described on their website and the reviews. I stayed in the superior room with 1 king bed which was very comfortable. The air conditioner is adjustable to your preference. The hotel was very clean, spacious, very friendly staff (24hr lobby staff)and in the perfect location. They provided robes, slippers, 2 bottled waters, clean towels daily. The bathroom has a bidet which is separate from the shower area. They also have a pot to heat water instantly and they provide coffee and camomile tea bags. There was a large desk area in this room and a large television. The location is right across the street from a large shopping mall that also has restaurants and walking distance to Musil (restaurants, cinema, shopping). They do have a pool and has pizza and beer every evening at rooftop bar. All your needs are very close to this hotel. The bus terminal is ~6 minutes walking distance and train is ~ 10 minute taxi ride. Approximately 2 miles is the outdoor market (food/shopping). Considerations: make sure to bring international chargers, translate app and if get Wow pass can top up with cash at 7/11 or CU. I did make several attempts to top up on Wow pass app with credit card and was having difficulty. The bus terminal and taxi’s accept international visa credit card. The bus terminal does not accept T card. I highly recommend this hotel. Thanks to the staff and cleanliness.
GGuest UserThe room is spacious, has 2 bathrooms and toilets make usage convenient for a family. We stayed there because we went skiing in Elysian so it’s 15 min drive. I don’t think it’s very accessible by public transport.
Interior design is a bit strange, combining colorful and traditional wooden bulky furniture, the wall is painted black and there is only one small window in the big living room so the feeling is dark, and the led light hanging on the second floor fence don’t work. So I would say facility and hygiene is just ok , but the price kind of explain this, so it’s acceptable.
GGuest UserSooooooo niceeeee!!!! We will definitely come again for a skiing trip. We took a 2 bed-room with kitchen unit facing the skiing hills. The view is awesome. As a guest staying at VivaldPark, we got a 10% discount for the Snowyland Ticket. Unforgettable memories.
GGuest UserThe room I entered on the first day was very unclean.
- Only the bed was clean!
- Stains on the table as they were
- Hair all over the floor... Same with the bathroom
- Traces of something eaten on the sofa...
Since it was early morning check-in and the luggage had already been moved,
I explained the situation and asked to change the room.
The front desk said that they would only clean one night out of three, and asked if they would clean it tomorrow...
(????) I didn't clean it... Considering that it would be difficult to change rooms at dawn, I asked them to change the room the next day.. Why did they clean it tomorrow as if it was a favor...?
After talking to them again, they decided to change the room the next day,
and fortunately! The room I changed to was clean.
* On the third day, I was sleeping and heard a knock saying that the room was being cleaned, and they were trying to open the door right away,
so I was startled while sleeping and told them not to come in because they didn't have to clean it, but they kept coming in and said they would just tag my card..
They said they had to tag it to get paid...(??)
I travel a lot for business and often stay at hotels,
but this was the first time I've seen something like this...
I was half asleep and didn't understand what they were saying,
and I was in my pajamas and a mess,
so I told them not to come in because they kept coming in..
They didn't come in,
but it's still absurd to think about later.
The hotel system seems strange....
I stayed twice for 3 nights,
but every time I went, I was never satisfied with the cleanliness, front desk, and various services, as if it were a 4-star hotel...
I used it because of the location and facilities, etc., but...
Well... I'm not sure about the future.
* The photo is only a small part, there are also hair stains here and there that are not visible in the photo...
적적절한 타협가There are two accommodation providers in one building:
(Sota Suites and Urban Stay)
I booked through Urban Stay and checked in via their website.
The lobby on the 2nd floor does not assist with check-ins for the other provider.
Parking Facilities
There is ample parking space, so there are plenty of spots available even late at night.
Cleanliness
There were flying insects on the balcony, but since I did not open the door, there were none inside the room.
Nearby Facilities
There is a variety of restaurants and several convenience stores nearby.
Breakfast
I did not use the breakfast. For that price, there are plenty of restaurants within a 10-minute walk.
Swimming Pool
They provide two swimming pool tickets per night.
I received four tickets for my two-night stay.
The staff there were very friendly, and the water is shallow, so it is not dangerous.
However, the water is on the colder side, so if you have children, I recommend having them apply sunscreen during the day. If there was anything bad about it, it was the air conditioner control function.
It doesn't maintain the temperature even after you set it.
It just turns on when it starts getting really hot and you're exhausted from the heat.
It doesn't adjust even when it gets extremely cold, so I woke up several times.
It seems to have a ”windless” function, but it only turns the air conditioner on and off.
HhinnemaimThe surroundings were nice, but the facilities were a bit more outdated than I expected. Perhaps because the Chuseok holiday had just passed, there were fewer guests, so it was quiet. However, the distance to downtown was quite long, and the welcome lounge was empty at first, so I got a little lost. Anyway, I had a good rest.
