My wife and I were extremely satisfied with our stay at Hard Rock Hotel Maldives. The experience started smoothly even before check-in. We had arrived in Malé late the night before, and the Hard Rock team contacted and coordinated directly with the hotel we were staying at, making our transfer to the resort very easy and stress-free. All of the staff we met were friendly, polite, and welcoming. As an Accor Diamond member, I had originally considered staying at the Pullman or Sofitel, but after researching the different resorts, we felt that Hard Rock offered the experience that suited us best—and we were very happy with that decision. One of the biggest surprises was just how much there was to do. The resort offered many complimentary activities, entertainment, and shows. We first met one of the instructors, Pensi, during another dinner/show, and because she was so friendly and enthusiastic, we decided to join her hammock/silks class. It ended up being a lot of fun. She also performed in her own show the following day, which was amazing and became one of the highlights of our stay. My wife and I are not really into water sports, but we decided to try kayaking and were very glad we did. It gave us some beautiful views of the resort and surrounding water, as well as some great photos. Cycling between the connected islands was another simple activity that turned out to be surprisingly memorable and gave us some amazing photo opportunities along the way. Breakfast had a huge selection and everything we tried tasted great. We also ordered in-room dining, which was very easy through the resort's dedicated app. Getting around was simple as well. We could book a buggy through the app or use the bicycles that were available around the island. We stayed in a Platinum Overwater Pool Villa, and the room was clean, modern, spacious, and very comfortable. We could watch the sunrise from our private pool and also step directly from the villa into the ocean below. It was exactly the kind of Maldives experience we had imagined. We came expecting beautiful scenery, clear water, and amazing photos and videos, and Hard Rock certainly delivered all of that. What we did not expect was how much the activities, recreation, entertainment, and shows would add to the experience. They made the stay much more enjoyable and memorable than simply staying at a beautiful resort. We also appreciated seeing the resort manager attend Pensi's show and personally speak with guests. It gave us the impression that the management team genuinely makes an effort to engage with guests, listen to feedback, and make everyone’s stay as comfortable as possible. Overall, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives gave us everything we had hoped for from our Maldives trip, plus much more than we expected. We would be very happy to stay again.

We booked a water villa, and the layout and functionality were incredibly convenient, with excellent service. We only had a few minor regrets: The water villa's private deck leads directly into coral, which is quite close to the surface, making serious snorkeling difficult. You can really only float around the steps to see the coral and fish, which is a bit of a mixed bag. The bathroom floor in the water villa becomes extremely slippery when wet; there were signs warning about it, but it was still hard to avoid. You can see the 'rubbish island' from the south side of the island (our water villa on the north side couldn't see it). If the wind blows from the south, you can smell burning trash on the island. However, the wind doesn't blow in the same direction all day, nor is it the same direction every day, so during our three-night stay, we only smelled burning trash intermittently on our first half-day. According to the restaurant staff, our assigned butler, Riya, is one of the best. However, communication might have been more efficient if we had WhatsApp to contact her; my phone only allowed WeChat, and her replies were occasionally delayed. Overall, for this price point, the resort service was excellent, and we were generally satisfied.

Read this before you book 👇 Mid-September stay, two adults and two young kids, Beach Villa with kids' room (4 nights). A very good experience overall, but families should know a few things. 🚤 Arrival We landed at 5:30 PM and waited until 7:15 PM, since the speedboat runs roughly every two hours. Tough with kids after a long flight. The ride itself is only 10 minutes. The jetty welcome felt flat with no drums, but check-in was quick and we got a tour from a staff member who spoke our language, a great touch. 🏡 The Villa Clean, brand new and very private. The minibar is weak: soft drinks, two low-quality juices, spicy nuts and a small Pringles, so bring snacks. The kids' room is tiny, more of a dressing room; the cots were in the living area. 🍽️ Restaurants 🥇 Cocoon — 10/10 The best by far. The lamb ribs and wagyu mini tacos are outstanding, and you get four courses instead of three. 🍕 MIDI — 8/10 Our daily lunch spot. Great pizza and pasta, but the burger is a 5/10. 🍳 Baraveli (breakfast) — Good Solid buffet, though we were tired of it after three days. 🍜 SOI (Thai) — 6/10 Decent. 🍣 Bō (signature Asian) — 4/10 The biggest letdown. The duck and mixed meat dishes were below par; only the sushi starter stood out at 7.5/10. Staff at every restaurant were cheerful and great with kids. ⚠️ For families: one kids' menu for lunch and dinner across all restaurants, with only 4–5 dishes, and you can't order from the adult menu for your child, unless you pay. 🧸 Kids Club — Weak Small with limited toys. The outdoor area is unusable in the heat, and the slide burned my child. The man and young woman on staff were excellent, but the older woman was harsh; I saw her shouting at a little girl whose parents weren't there. 💆 Spa — 6/10 Spotless, but the massage is average if you've been to Bali or Thailand. 🛺 Buggies: fast and polite drivers. 🚨 Late Check-out — Most Important I asked for one extra hour and was refused: a flat $300 for one to six hours, no flexibility, poor attitude. At 11:58 they knocked for our bags, and housekeeping came in ten minutes later, despite the resort being quiet in low season. Also note: the last scheduled boat leaves at 2:30 PM, after which a private boat costs around $450. With an evening flight, you'd pay both. The departure lounge fits about 8 people; everyone else waits in a lobby without AC. ⭐ Overall: 7/10 for the price A new, beautiful resort with some excellent restaurants, but I wouldn't return with kids.

This is a perfect place for a good holiday! The hotel is really clean and brand-new. The rooms are very cosy, cleaned every day, the view from the balcony is really nice. Talking about the food, it can seem simple, but actually it’s very tasty and nutritious, you never feel hungry. The desserts are also really nice. The working team is very friendly, they always try to do their best. We also went fishing from the hotel, guys were really helpful, everything was amazing. If you’re not sure about this place because of some reviews, I should tell you, that if a person wants to find something bad, he definitely will. Island is small, yes, but that’s good, not so many people are there, the beach and water is clean, you still have some shops with everything you need. We have never smelt any smell from the trash burning mentioned in the reviews. We would definitely recommend this place, it has been one of our best experiences with sea holidays so far. What can be improved for the hotel: if you have an opportunity, add more sun beds to the beach with the umbrellas. It’s not that bad, but probably not always enough for all your tourists. All the rest was just amazing! We would like to come back!

Actually I never write BAD REVIEWS , just because one people “That Woman on Receptionist” Start from Arriving (check in ) I paid for speed boat & tax fee she looked me from up with empty eye glaring of coz with no smile like usually hotelier specially in reception. Go to room , my room have AC dripping ( floor wet ) my porter quickly call engineer ( thank you both of you so nice and quick job to handle ) but AC still dripped for 2 nite I stay ( but I don’t complain so ignored and put towel under AC ) And just realized my Room Key Card only has one , put side door for automatic lights your room so when you go out you need take out and all room is turn off. So on dinner time I go to reception and ask for spare key so when I back I have AC. That woman staff said “ NO WE ONLY HAVE ONE FOR GUEST, YOU CAN ASK US AND OPEN DOOR FOR YOU WHEN YOU EVERYTIME YOU BACK TO ROOM “ With Jaw open seriously? She strictly say YES ( and of coz without smile only glare ) So after dinner am ask her for call other staff open my room , need wait outside room 10mnt when Male Staff come I say to him “ did you have other options for open door without call you everytime I go outside?” Thank you for Him , he take seperate card for my door so I have key when I go outside. Last for CHECK OUT : my flight on 8:30pm so I booked my speedboats on ARENA , they said I boarding on 5pm and later she change on 4pm. I’m asking again can’t I have late check out for 1hr so I don’t need outside to much long because so hot. Straight say NO , because guest arrive on 1pm no options only say you can put luggage at reception. Woww .. no I don’t argue just said really ? That’s why I cancelled my speedboats back airport ticket ( not yet paid ) I said I don’t need speedboad , and I go to KAANI PALM HOTEL , they offer me Lounge for $10 ( you can shower to ) so can relax inside with AC and I booked speedboat with KAANI PALM HOTEL. Overall, the value for money was decent. However, the water pressure in the room was very low. The Chinese butler's service attitude was perfunctory, cold, and of a very low standard. Don't expect her to enthusiastically help you solve any issues immediately; she'll stall for a while and then tell you to figure it out yourself, perfectly embodying the 'Chinese people must exploit Chinese people' tradition. Although the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it was passable. For snorkeling, it's best to stay in an overwater villa as there are more fish. The weather was excellent with hardly any rain, but it was very windy, and many things got blown away. I quite liked the simple meals at Breeze restaurant, but surprisingly, the pizza and pasta were a bit too salty. The scenery is quite average compared to many other islands. Almost no one participated in water activities. Watching the sunset by the pool was great.

We had stayed at Bandos Maldives before, so coming back felt a little like returning to a familiar place. Overall, we had another very enjoyable stay and would happily recommend the resort. One of the biggest advantages of Bandos is its location. It takes only about 15 minutes by speedboat from Malé Airport, which is incredibly convenient, especially after a long flight. The downside is that you do sacrifice some of the feeling of isolation. Malé is clearly visible from the island and has grown considerably since our last visit, and you can also see other islands around Bandos. So if you are looking for the feeling of being completely alone in the middle of the ocean, this may not be the best choice. For us, however, the All Inclusive package made the whole stay exactly the kind of holiday we needed. We genuinely didn’t have to think about anything. We didn’t have to plan activities, worry about where to eat or constantly think about what to do next. It was a real mental reset — slow, peaceful and completely relaxing. The package also included a good selection of activities and drinks at the bar. The food was definitely one of the highlights. The restaurant has changed since our previous visit, and we were very impressed with the quality and variety of the food. Everything was fresh, well prepared and genuinely delicious. The house reef is another great advantage of Bandos. There is plenty to see, including colourful fish, turtles and sharks. However, the best snorkeling is concentrated on one side of the island. Other areas have more damaged coral, and some parts are quite shallow, so swimming is not always possible. During our stay in June, the wind was also very strong, creating large waves around the breakwaters, which made snorkeling difficult even for a confident swimmer. We stayed in a Garden Villa. Everything was clean and housekeeping was good, but the villa, especially the bathroom, is starting to feel a little tired and could definitely benefit from renovation. The staff were friendly, attentive and always willing to help. Overall, Bandos remains a lovely island with great food, a beautiful reef and a relaxed atmosphere. We were happy to return, and for anyone looking for an easy, comfortable and genuinely relaxing Maldivian getaway, especially with All Inclusive, Bandos is a great option.

Saw lots of sharks,fish, sting Ray ,few turtle near by the water villa .every thing you can eat , drink . No extra fee. Traveling with my child, I opted for an island-view twin room. The first thing I noticed upon entering was a strong musty smell. I initially thought it was normal due to the humid seaside environment, but when I upgraded to a water villa later, there was no smell at all. If you're sensitive to smells, definitely avoid the island rooms. While the island rooms are further from the restaurants and pool, they open right onto the beach, which is convenient for kids to play. Secondly, the hot and cold water labels in the room were reversed! Is this acceptable for an established resort? This led to one of us taking a freezing cold shower. We told the butler, and they said someone would come fix it the next day. However, someone knocked on our door to fix the hot water after we had already gone to bed. Speaking of which, I have to complain heavily about the butler. I only saw him once upon arrival and never again. His replies to messages were always delayed by four or five hours, and his answers were completely irrelevant, solving none of my problems. When I asked about upgrading my room at my own expense, he didn't reply. I ended up having to contact Trip.com customer service, and they were the ones who resolved it for me. (I regret tipping him immediately upon arrival, as there was no service whatsoever. Our luggage was delivered half an hour late after being told it would be five minutes.) There were no toothbrushes or slippers in the island room for two consecutive nights, and housekeeping didn't replenish them. I initially thought the hotel was being eco-friendly, but the water villa had everything. Trip.com's page also indicated that island rooms should be equipped with toothbrushes and slippers. When I asked the butler, his answer was again evasive. Here's another very useful piece of information: although the island advertises seven restaurants, very few are open for dinner. You won't have a choice of seven; it's more like two or three. During my stay, the dinner buffet was completely unavailable, and the other six weren't open every day. Some also require reservations, and if you're late, you won't get a table. So, if you've booked three meals a day, pay close attention to what's actually available for dinner. On our first night, the butler didn't even remind us that we could go to dinner. We arrived at 7:30 PM, and dinner closed at 10 PM, so we essentially wasted a dinner. I only found out about this by checking myself. I asked the butler if we could exchange it for lunch on our departure day, but I received no reply until I left! The restaurant information online and from the hotel is vastly inconsistent. Even their official website states the buffet is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Trip.com's page says there's a dinner buffet. The information simply doesn't match up. Bring extra snacks! Aside from the butler and the restaurant opening times, all the other staff members were incredibly, incredibly, incredibly good! When I wanted to check out, my boat was scheduled for 3:30 PM, but I said I wanted to leave sooner. They immediately arranged a boat for me. Every single staff member was smiling and enthusiastic. If you come here, please avoid the butler Ali; he was terrible! I've truly never encountered such a butler. Having this kind of experience on vacation was a huge disappointment.
