jxsjasA road trip with kids to Hulunbuir, a feast of delicious food that made me gain three pounds.
**Food Crash (All 5-star rating)**
For four of us and three children, the most expensive meal was the Russian meal, over 400 yuan. Everything else was under 400 yuan, sometimes even under 300 yuan.
-Shabu-shabu: Manzhouli Aishang Hotpot, generous portions, and excellent value! Hailar Baiweixian, the fresh produce we ordered was fantastic.
=Russian: Masha Western Restaurant. My kids still rave about the beef short ribs, and the two men, who aren't big fans of Western food, were delighted with every dish (except the borscht).
Mongolian: Hailar Menggen Chulu Tea Shop. We ate there twice, and the whole family fell in love with the Buryat steamed buns!
Genhe Morning Market: A hearty breakfast experience. I loved the various tomatoes (they seem to call them persimmons) and the fresh pine nuts from the pine cones. Crispy Leba + Yogurt: Hailar Liu's Leba Shop (netizens highly recommend the curd-filled Leba, but I personally prefer the crispy Leba); Shiwei Leba (freshly baked, fragrant).
Shenwei Mia Restaurant: We had the steak and beef bone soup pot on our first day and were so satisfied. We had lunch there before leaving the next day and ordered hand-pulled pork and fish. The hand-pulled pork was also excellent.
Genhe: We ordered the 288 steak hot pot set meal at Zantun Iron Pot Stew and couldn't finish it. The vegetables were also delicious! We had been wanting to try Lao Ma's Halal Pie Shop, but gave up because they couldn't take individual pies to go. Ergun: Xiaofang BBQ, finally had some grilled skewers. The taste was pretty good, perfect for our Sichuan palate!
Hailar: After days of beef and mutton, we finally had some Northeastern cuisine at Grandma's Whole Grain Restaurant. The portions were astonishing! The braised pork ribs, sweet and sour pork, flatbreads, and cold dishes were all incredibly delicious! [Color]
Hailar Jinconi Coffee: On our last day, we visited the museum and explored the cafe. The sofas on the second floor were perfect for lounging. There was even a corgi in the cafe, which our little one loved! #InnerMongolianFood

When you come to Manzhouli, which borders Russia, you can't miss tasting Russian food. If you want to eat a full meal without being extravagant, and most importantly, it must be authentic, this Masha Western Restaurant is worth a visit. Ukrainian soup, two slices of black bread, a rice salad (with vegetables, pickles, sausage cubes, cheese shreds, etc.), plus a portion of Simidan (similar to cream, but not as greasy as cream) spread on bread. Meat, vegetables, milk, and soup are all available, especially the Ukrainian soup has the unique sour taste of tomatoes, and there is beef, which is particularly delicious. The meal cost only over 60 yuan, what else do you want? It is not recommended to order skewers, because Russian skewers are particularly large, almost catching up with a dish, suitable for eating separately when there are many people.
