1️⃣ Osmanthus Fragrance Handmade Noodles This was recommended to us by our taxi driver 🚕, and it's truly excellent. You can order a two-person meal directly, plus the hand-pulled lamb dish for one, which is definitely enough for 2-3 people. 🍜 Beef and Lentil Noodles—this is a must-try! It really surprised me. The mushy noodles are filled with a rich, filling topping, and the aroma of red beans and other legumes, plus the sturdy, chewy beef morsels—even kids can enjoy it. If you like it spicy, you can add chili peppers 🌶️, but we didn't even think about it after we finished eating because the plain flavor was so good! 🥙 The scallions were really interesting—tender and crispy without any onion flavor. 2️⃣ Handmade Spicy Noodles I bought them casually on the street, and they turned out pretty good—not too spicy. Don't overbuy; we bought a 6-yuan bag, and the two of us couldn't finish it in two days... 3️⃣ Xiao Yang Pingliang Steamed Bun Shop While walking around, I noticed many locals buying pancakes and steamed buns. I tried it too. They have all sorts of fried cakes and soft twisted dough sticks. They were so delicious I bought them again the next day, and my mom even said she wanted some to take to the desert. 🏜️… The twisted dough sticks come in many different flavors, and they're all delicious. They're huge, and only 3 yuan each! Two for 5 yuan! The prices are quite good, too. 4️⃣ Xi Apo Congee and Cake Shop I was initially drawn in by the "yogurt porridge" sign at the entrance. I thought it was a bit of a culinary culinary quirk, but it turned out to be quite good! The porridge options here are all very interesting. Many of the sweet porridges are available hot, but the yogurt porridge tastes better at room temperature (cold). The shop looks large, but you don't have to be embarrassed to just have one bowl; the staff are very friendly. 5️⃣ Ma Weicheng Ethnic Barbecue I've seen so many recommendations, and I was surprised it was right next to our hotel. The value is actually pretty good. A selection of small skewers of beef and mutton are 40 yuan each, and you can grill 5 skewers individually for a non-spicy option, which is great for the kids to enjoy! I think it's worth stopping by on the way. 6️⃣ Mushan Hand-Pulled Lamb This is a dish recommended by many locals. The hand-pulled lamb is truly delicious, served with chili flakes 🌶️, vinegar, onions 🧅, and garlic 🧄. The noodle soup is also delicious, and the pancakes are irresistible to the kids. The lamb trotters are a bit strong, so I recommend ordering one to share and then ordering more as you can. The other specialties are great for trying new dishes. 7️⃣ Others Because goji berries are a Zhongwei specialty, you can try a box of fresh goji berries for 10 yuan. But children shouldn't eat too much, just 3-4 a day! The fruit here is also worth trying, including the tomatoes 🍅, which are very fragrant and have a distinct tomato aroma. You can buy yogurt from the uncle at the entrance of Xiangyang Snack Street. It's relatively cheap, and they give you a "Zhongwei" check-in sticker. Zhongwei truly amazed me. The food was so delicious that I couldn't finish it all in a day or two. I haven't even tried the ice-cooked lamb or grilled fish yet. The portions here are really huge.
