"This hotel/guesthouse is absolutely fantastic! It's very close to Mingsha Mountain, and the Mogao Grottoes are just a 15-minute drive away. The lovely guesthouse owners prepared welcome apricot tea, and they do an excellent job maintaining the place. Our room was spacious and clean, and the triple room had a balcony, though we didn't use it much. The common areas, both on the rooftop and the ground floor, are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the breeze in the evening – very comfortable."

"Overall, it was decent and the price matched the conditions. The pros are the good location, spacious room, and nice breakfast. My first issue is I don't understand why checking in was such a hassle, especially since it's not a holiday like National Day or Chinese New Year. They told me at past 4 PM that my room wasn't ready yet. Second, after I finally checked in, the front desk staff told me I could have booked through their mini-program, and the price would have been 20% lower than what I paid. I was speechless. Saying that in front of my friend completely undermined me, didn't it? Either don't say anything, or help me rebook at the lower mini-program price on the spot. Why did they have to expose me in front of others? My third point is also about the front desk. When checking in, they said the mini-bar drinks were complimentary. But when I got to my room, there were only two bottles of mineral water. When I asked the front desk, they replied that this was the standard for my room type, but they could provide more if I wanted. This response left me not knowing whether to laugh or cry. If that's the standard, then they shouldn't have said the drinks were complimentary in the first place..."

Guest UserOn a self-driving tour, I decided to stay here last minute and was pleasantly surprised! As soon as I turned into the parking lot, a staff member came over to guide me. They helped with my luggage every step of the way, and everyone I encountered greeted me proactively. The front desk gave me a sand protection neck gaiter and a voucher for congee in the evening. In the room, there were welcome snacks, yogurt, and plenty of water. They also provided free chargers and a humidifier. There's even a foot bath at the self-service laundry room, with disposable bath bags for hygiene. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, definitely 4-star+! So many varieties, better than many 4.7+ hotels in the city. They also offer shuttle service. I'll definitely be back!

Guest UserThis was my first stay at the Holiday Inn Express Zhangye. Usually, when I'm in Zhangye for business, I just pick any hotel, but this time I chose it because a friend told me how beautiful Ganzhou Fucheng is and that there are lots of great food options to explore. So, I picked the Holiday Inn Express that's really close to Ganzhou Fucheng. As soon as I walked into the lobby, the staff greeted me warmly and quickly helped me check in, even upgrading me to a room with a view of Ganzhou Fucheng. The room was incredibly spacious and quiet. From my room, I could see the entire Zhangye Wetland Park and the Ganzhou Fucheng night market. After work, I went to the Ganzhou Fucheng night market, browsed around, and even had some delicious Fried Bola. The hotel room was clean and tidy, the staff provided excellent service, and the breakfast was incredibly rich and varied. They even offered me a complimentary late check-out. This stay was absolutely perfect, and I'll definitely come back if I have the chance!

The hotel location is excellent and not so far for Mogaocave, the dunhuang night market, Mingsha Mountains..
The hotel room is super clean, wide, and has comfy.beds.
Also, the hotel provided everything necessary
Especially the hotel staff are very friendly and responsible for guests.
We stayed there for 3 nights 4 days and the staff always helped us for traveling.
They called a taxi for us to travel to tourist spots
Even if they don't speak English , we communicate by translation application on the phone.
They also bring us to pharmacy and supermarket.
How they are wonderful and thankful.
If we go there again, we will definitely stay there again.
I traveled all over the world for 20 years, but I never met like the hotel and staff.
Totally never forgetable hotel and staff.

The location is fantastic – just cross the Dunhuang Mother River in front, and you'll find all sorts of restaurants with good prices. They have a laundry room, making it incredible value for money. Plus, with the desert heat, having unlimited bottled water was such a thoughtful and considerate touch. A truly caring hotel!

However, as it's an older property, the facilities show some age, particularly the split-unit air conditioning in the rooms, which doesn't quite meet star-rated hotel standards. The lobby was also undergoing renovations during my stay. Thankfully, the AC units seem to be new, clean, and perform well. There was an issue with the TV that required multiple service calls before it worked correctly, indicating that service could be improved in terms of response time and attitude. Still, I appreciate the complimentary room upgrade. Moreover, the lobby service when I checked out was excellent, with staff holding the door open for me until I left – a really thoughtful touch. Overall, it was a good stay.

BoluonaixihetaozisuannaiI checked in on September 5th, and the price was almost 1300. I just want to say, it was extremely bad value for money. It felt like paying 1300 to stay in a guesthouse. Luckily, I only stayed one night; if I had stayed two, I would have demanded a full refund! The moment I stepped into the hotel, I had a bad feeling, and I was right! Firstly, the service was mediocre, just average. Secondly, we arrived at noon and ordered room service. A plate of vegetarian dumplings for over 30 yuan – I have good reason to suspect they were frozen. And they were served on a plastic plate! After charging a 20% service fee, couldn't they at least use a white porcelain bowl? That wouldn't cost much, would it? The other dishes weren't very good either. Thirdly, the bedding was truly unbearable! I brought disposable bedding, and I didn't need to use it at any other hotel, only at yours! It's genuinely worse than an economy hotel! The hotel is old, and the hardware can't be changed, but couldn't you at least use better soft furnishings? The bath towels were thin and old. Surely, it wouldn't cost much to get better quality ones. I've traveled a lot and I'm not very particular, but your bedding and bath towels were the first that I simply couldn't bring myself to use! Fourthly, I booked this hotel thinking it was close to Mingsha Mountain, worried about getting a taxi at night. But it's actually still a 15-minute walk. Plus, there are plenty of taxis and buses available from Mingsha Mountain at night; outside of the summer holiday, staying in the city center would have been fine. The only praise I have is that the breakfast was pretty good. The beef noodles were freshly made, which I commend. Coffee was also offered.

Serena MandrileWe are an Italian family and we stayed at this hotel for around 10 days while we were fixing our motorhome in Zhangye. This hotel has the perfect position for us, near the beautiful and calm lake and with the city centre reachable with a short taxi drive. Our room at the ground floor had a private garden from which we enjoyed the sunshine every day, and my child was given a very cute camping tent that she loved to play with. One of the buildings in the hotel is a very nice restaurant that we enjoyed twice. Last but not least, the staff was so kind to us every day and extremely helpful with lot of things like ordering delivery food or receiving packages - as we don’t speak any Chinese at all, this was a blessing for us.

Guest UserI stayed at Dunhuang Yuntian International Hotel for two nights from August 23rd to 25th, and I absolutely have to give it a rave review!
I took the train from Lanzhou to Dunhuang. I had informed the hotel of my train number in advance, and to my surprise, they arranged a complimentary pick-up service. As soon as I exited the station, I saw the driver holding a sign waiting for me, and he even helped carry my luggage to the car. This start alone earned them major bonus points.
The hotel's location is truly unbeatable, right next to Shazhou Night Market, just a few minutes' walk away. In the evenings, after exploring the night market, enjoying some BBQ, drinking apricot peel water, and buying souvenirs, I could just stroll back to the hotel. No need to worry about finding a taxi or walking too far. The bus to Mingsha Mountain stops right at the entrance, and a taxi to Mogao Grottoes only takes about ten minutes, making it super convenient for sightseeing.
I chose a room with a humidifier. Dunhuang is naturally dry in August, and with the humidifier on, sleeping was so much more comfortable; I didn't wake up in the middle of the night with a dry throat. The mattress was a zero-pressure type; you just sink into it, and I slept incredibly well. The hot water came on quickly, and the vanity thoughtfully provided disposable facial towels, which is a nice touch for women. The front desk staff were also very friendly and check-in was fast.
Breakfast starts at 7 AM and includes freshly ground coffee, yogurt, fruits, and local snacks. It's great not to have to go out hungry early in the morning looking for food, especially useful for those heading to Mogao Grottoes early.
Overall, for this price, to stay in the city center with pick-up service, a rich breakfast, and a clean, comfortable room, the value for money is truly high. I genuinely recommend this place for solo travelers or those bringing family to Dunhuang. I'll definitely stay here again next time!
