Room with bed was very comfortable and cozy. Check in queue was long at 4 plus but we had 2 welcome drinks to knock that out Some mild stains on the surface of the study desk and toilet counter top. Conditioning shampoo, body soap and hand soap from ink+water. Instant tea and coffee from bon tea and nescafe was underwhelming. A sealed carafe of water was thoughtful and filtered water dispensers were available on both ends of the common corridor. We booked with free breakfast and looked forward to the raved nasi lemak but that too was disappointing as they only had chicken in gravy or lamb in gravy and the chicken was sadly on the dry and overcooked end. Selection at breakfast was limited and minimal. Pasta sauce and soup from the live noodles station were both sadly tasteless. The sunrise by the windows at breakfast made up for the disappointment. The breakfast crowd looked a bit unmanageable after 8am and we overheard that someone sneaked in and sat down for a free meal after complaining that the hotel staff missed out to give him a ”occupied” tag for his table. The front desk has a note to remind you on the peak hours for breakfast and will recommend that you go before 8 so you won't have to wait in the long queue for a table to be assigned. The gym was well equipped like what many mentioned and something we both enjoyed. Pool was minimal and suitable for dipping. Overall a good stay! Connected to the mall, clean and comfortable space with polite staff everywhere.

Our stay was exceptional! The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. The room was spacious, spotless, and the bed was remarkably comfortable. The location near major landmarks was perfect. Highly recommend friendly staff, clean/comfortable rooms (beds, decor), convenient location, good amenities (tv, Wi-Fi), and overall value of money. It’s not just our first time stays here but many time. And booking again soon.. thanks Fuju 🙏

Might have over expectation for this hotel. Check in late that night after late dinner. Bathroom water heater was not working, maintenance team came over spent an hour and didn’t fixed. Was told to leave the shower tap and basin tap open for 30-40mins, still warm/hot water are not available for shower. Didn’t manage to get to change my room due to hotel was full that day. Room 16-46 So end up that night, shower with cold water. Toilet seat was dirty too. 🥲 Overall clean, but some hidden areas are dirty.

Great location! Few minutes walk to malls and eateries including bakery. Service staff were great as well. Hotel is secured as entrance door is magnetic locked during night times and can be unlocked with your room keys. Carpark lots is via lift and staff uncle is nice to guide the cars into the lift and also floor level. There are gym and business Center, however it lacked breakfast possibly due to lack of space and plenty of options near hotel. Overall, price is really worthwhile and the value is great! This hotel will be my top consideration whenever I am staying over in JB.

Hotel was conveniently located nearby KSL Shopping Mall, which meant plenty of foods nearby. However, the room was not soundproof as you can hear the people along the corridor and the next door neighbour. Moreover, the room had a few ants on the table. Lastly, this hotel does not have a moveable showerhead in the toilet, but only a rain shower. However, service provided by staff was good.

I chose Opero Hotel Southkey for my recent trip to Johor Bahru, and I was very satisfied with the overall experience. It's a hotel with excellent value for money. 📍 The location is incredibly convenient: The hotel is right next to Mid Valley Southkey Mall, just a few minutes' walk downstairs. Eating, shopping, and buying things are completely hassle-free, making it perfect for short trips or weekend getaways. 🛏️ Room Experience: The room was clean, with a simple and modern design. The bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, so it was quiet at night. The bathroom had stable water pressure and plenty of hot water. The overall maintenance was excellent; it didn't feel like an old hotel at all. 🍽️ Full Marks for Lifestyle Convenience: * The mall offers a huge variety (restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, massage, beauty products – you name it). * It's super convenient for late-night snacks, coffee, or buying daily necessities. * No need to take a special taxi to the city center; you can still have a great time. 🚗 Transportation & Getting Around: * From Singapore, you can take a Grab directly after clearing CIQ. * The hotel has parking spaces, so it's convenient if you're driving. * Taking a taxi to the city center, KSL, or City Square is also a short ride. 💬 Service Experience: The front desk staff were friendly, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. Responses to questions were quick, which was reassuring. ✨ In summary: If you're looking for a clean, quiet, super convenient hotel near a mall in Johor Bahru, you really can't go wrong with Opero Hotel Southkey. The breakfast was delicious too. It's suitable for couples, friends, or short weekend stays. I'd definitely stay here again on my next visit to JB 👍

The environment here is beautiful, it's just a shame the swimming pool upstairs is a bit damaged. If that could be fixed, it would be absolutely perfect. The security is also very professional, with security guards patrolling 24 hours a day.

I had a fantastic stay at Capri by Fraser JB. The location is great, it’s just a quick Grab ride from the CIQ. Being so close to City Square Mall and Komtar JBCC was very convenient for shopping and dining. The staff were incredibly welcoming and check-in was smooth. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a stress-free stay near the border.

I’m giving this hotel 3 stars because it delivers exactly that — a textbook 3-star experience. If you’re walking from JB CIQ, take a moment to pray for your luggage wheels. The cobblestone pavement on the way is a certified durability test for any suitcase. The reception staff, to their credit, were professional and efficient, setting the stay off on a positive note. There’s no air-conditioning in the corridors on the way from the lobby to the rooms, which makes sense once you feel the lobby itself — it’s cooled to near polar conditions, possibly at the expense of the upper floors. The lobby even has a convenience stall with tables and chairs — great for a quick snack or late-night instant noodle run. The fact that they sell noodles complete with disposable bowls almost makes it feel planned. I stayed on the 19th floor in a room that could politely be described as functional. It came with two sockets, a few hangers in an open closet, and no mini-fridge, so don’t bring anything perishable unless you plan to eat it immediately. The vinyl flooring showed signs of wear, and a quick look under the bed revealed a generous collection of dust. The AC was the old-school fan coil type, and thankfully, it worked perfectly fine. The bathroom, however, turned into an adventure of its own. The shower head was fixed in place, the glass partition far too short, and the result was a small-scale water park after every shower — fun only if you enjoy slipping hazards. The toilet needed a two-flush routine, and the bidet hose leaked enough to make using it a careful balancing act. Then there was the Great Towel Shortage. Despite two guests, we received one face towel. There was no hand soap either — only the all-purpose shampoo dispenser in the shower. When housekeeping came, they simply rehung the used towels instead of replacing them. The lone face towel, which I’d pressed into service to mop up the flooded floor, was removed and never replaced. We ended up with just two towels for our second night. I was too tired to argue. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise — the buffet was reasonably priced and had a good range of options. Overall, this hotel is best suited for travelers who can adapt and aren’t thrown off by a few inconveniences. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys finding creative solutions when things don’t go perfectly, you might even appreciate it here. But if you’re after consistent comfort, you’ll probably want to look elsewhere. Staying here is a bit like driving a reliable car with no seat cushions — it gets you where you need to go, but the ride won’t be entirely comfortable.

location is prefect on top of paradigm mall, only carpark is a bit confused on the 6th floor which entrance at the 2nd gate, need to ask security exact location, hotel is very new and spacious, all staff are kind and polite, facilities only swimming pool and breakfast, buffet on Sat only, yet the mall has all everything archery, movies, roller, virtual game, roller skate, pet shop, KKV, food of all kinds.
