The hotel's public areas are nice, but there's no beach. If you're looking for a beach, you might want to consider other hotels. The rooms were a bit humid overall, but apparently, all hotels in Kota Kinabalu are like that. The service was pretty standard, nothing special, just like any other hotel. A convenient feature is that there's a jetty right at the hotel, which is great if you're heading to Mantanani Island, as it's very close.

I had a really pleasant experience as a solo traveller. The service was excellent—staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The facilities were well-maintained and clean, which made the stay very comfortable.
I especially enjoyed the amenities, which exceeded my expectations. Everything was convenient and easy to access. The atmosphere was relaxing and felt safe for solo travel.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay here again!

This hotel is always my choice whenever I travel to Kota Kinabalu. It’s located in the heart of the city yet perched on a hillside, away from the busy roadside noise. You can even hear the calming sounds of nature from the surrounding forest. The rooms are equipped with basic amenities, which are sufficient for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is provided and is good enough to start the day. However, during this visit, the gym and swimming pool were undergoing major renovations. Hopefully, the upgrades will make them even better, and I look forward to seeing the transformation on my next visit.

The room is clean and spacious, with well-equipped kitchen utensils and excellent amenities. The sea view is breathtaking, and the location is very strategic—within walking distance to the market. Overall, it was a superb experience!

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and the front desk service was incredibly slow. It took a full 40 minutes just to check in. I arrived at 4 PM, but my room wasn't ready until past 6 PM, by which time the sun had already set. To make matters worse, the buggy service was suspended due to heavy rain, and there was a long queue just to borrow an umbrella, leaving guests to walk back to their rooms in the downpour.
However, the beautiful sunset made up for it! The sky's colors were even more stunning and vibrant because of the rain. Many non-hotel guests even came specifically to watch the sunset.
The breakfast spread was plentiful, and even though it was crowded, they refilled dishes promptly. There were also performances during the dinner buffet. Overall, the service attitude was excellent.

The location was great, with a supermarket and Burger King downstairs, and close to Gaya Street with many popular restaurants and drink shops nearby. The room was also lovely; the sea view from the floor-to-ceiling windows was beautiful. The facilities were good, too; you needed a key card to access the elevators, and there's a swimming pool on the 6th floor. The room was clean and tidy, and they even provided water and drinks. Service was excellent; the host contacted us in advance, and both check-in and check-out were smooth, saving us a lot of time.
It was my first time to Semporna with my friends. After landing, we chose a forest resort homestay with a good reputation in the town and stayed there for two nights. Before checking in, the boss set up a group to communicate in advance about the pick-up, which made us feel particularly at ease~ The small wooden house we stayed in was clustered in the natural environment of the palm forest and I loved it. During the stay, the boss provided a lot of local tips. We went to the seafood market every night to buy seafood and returned home with a lot of seafood. I never thought that one day I would be full of two mantis shrimps. Sisters, if you live in the town, you can go for it and don’t step on thunder.
The experience at Semporna Sky Water Villas exceeded all expectations! My friend and I stayed in the Starlight Villa for two days, and it was truly beyond what we imagined. As soon as we arrived on the island, we were stunned by the scenery: the crystal-clear glass-like sea shimmered with various shades of blue and green under the sun. The wooden boardwalk, flanked by lush greenery, blended beautifully with the seascape – every photo we took looked like a postcard. The view from the Starlight Villa was simply incredible, with our balcony directly facing the ocean. In the evenings, we watched the orange and pink sunset paint the sea like a masterpiece, and at night, we could lie on the terrace and gaze at the Milky Way and countless stars. It was so romantic, we were speechless. The room facilities were clean and thoughtful; the wooden floors and furniture had a subtle oceanic scent, and both the shower water temperature and bedding comfort were perfect. The staff's service was truly top-notch, from their warm welcome upon arrival to actively recommending local specialties during meals, and even thoughtfully reminding us of the best time to catch the sunset. Every detail reflected their warmth. Whether it was a morning stroll on the boardwalk listening to the waves or relaxing on the terrace in the afternoon breeze, it allowed us to completely unwind. Half of the beautiful memories from this trip came from Semporna's sea, and the other half from this perfect water villa. We're already planning our next visit!
We booked the most expensive Dragon Ball Family Room, which was on the third floor with no elevator. Luckily, a bellhop helped us with our luggage. The room facilities were decent; the mattress was quite comfortable. However, the kettle had a layer of paste, probably from a previous guest cooking instant noodles. Breakfast was very simple, and by the time we went down at around 8 AM, there wasn't much left, just some noodles. I was quite unhappy at first, but after talking to the owner, a very enthusiastic person from Northeast China, he immediately promised to have the staff check it tomorrow. He had a good attitude.
