"There's no front desk service in the early morning, so this place is more suitable for guests who drive. There are no shops nearby either. However, the view outside the window when you wake up in the morning is absolutely beautiful and puts you in a great mood. The bed is large, but the bathroom and bathtub are a bit old. The jacuzzi function on the tub is broken and unusable."

"The hotel is close to the sea but a bit far from the JR station. The room was clean, and the triple room had enough space for three suitcases. The bedding was comfortable too. For breakfast, you can choose between a set meal or a buffet, but there's a long wait for the buffet. We opted for the set meal both days, and it was quite good. The onsen offers nice views of Hakodate, which is a plus."

"I love the ocean and yachts, so I booked an ocean view double room. The harbor view directly in front of the hotel is absolutely stunning. The breakfast buffet area also overlooks the harbor. The facilities might be a bit older, but the room was spacious and very clean. The shower isn't thermostatic, so temperature adjustment can be a little tricky. Comfortable Living: Unlike many traditional stays, the room here was very spacious and exceptionally well-heated, which made for a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. "The hotels in the Yunokawa Onsen area are generally quite average, and Umi to Akari, which is a Four Points by Marriott, is no exception. However, its price is double what you'd expect. Perhaps I booked too last minute. To be honest, for this price, I'd choose other, higher-end options, and even taking a taxi there to enjoy the hot springs would be more cost-effective. This hotel does offer day-use hot spring access. Here's my experience from a few perspectives: 1. **Hygiene:** You generally don't need to worry about hygiene in Japanese hotels, and this place is no different. 2. **Dining:** I opted for the one-night, two-meal plan, and after checking in, I realized it was the worst decision. The food quality was truly average. Although there was a lot of seafood and unlimited crab legs, it was just… mediocre. I ate one meal and never went back. I'd rather walk across the street to ”Ichimonji” for Hokkaido ramen 🍜. Coincidentally, it was a Japanese holiday, and the breakfast queue was unbelievably long 🤪. 3. **Clientele:** This hotel primarily caters to tour groups. Buses kept pulling up, dropping off loads of tourists, if you catch my drift. 4. **Accommodation:** The bed and pillows were really uncomfortable. I'll spare you the details... 5. **Hot Springs:** Clean, and the quality of the hot spring water was good. It was slightly salty, and my skin felt silky smooth after bathing. There weren't many Chinese guests, and everyone was very particular about hot spring etiquette, maintaining personal space. This was a definite plus (especially with so many tour groups staying there)."

"The hotel is certainly up to the standard and conveniently located right by the cruise tour for whale watching. Price I paid is on par with the service received. Nothing to critique about the buffet and they are cooked to order. What I really like the most is their lounge with many drinks and snacks options available and I am quite surprised in a good way about that. Only thing I would suggest is, for those who want more privacy in the bath, book yourself a room with private onsen as the open air public bath is rather small and can be filled up very quickly. Having an onsen in the room can resolve this issue completely. The seafood don in the breakfast is very good and nothing to complaint. I would certainly come back next time in the winter."
