Gulong Stay Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
I recently stayed near Gulong Canyon and had a wonderful experience overall. The area is surrounded by lush green mountains and rivers, so the views are absolutely stunning, especially in the early morning with mist in the valley. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and had a rustic charm that fit the natural setting.
The main attraction — the glass bridge and skywalk — was breathtaking (and a little scary if you’re afraid of heights). Staff were friendly and helpful, though English was limited, so having a translation app helped. Local food was fresh and tasty, especially the river fish dishes.
One tip: bring comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for some steep climbs. It’s best to visit on weekdays to avoid heavy crowds.
Would I come back? Definitely — especially to enjoy more hiking trails and maybe try the zipline next time.

This hotel near the high-speed train station is super convenient for getting around. It's less than a 10-minute walk from the station. Great value for money, and they have a large free parking lot. The facilities are comprehensive, and the service is exceptionally good.

Traveling through Baise on my trip to Yunnan, I saw Wyndham in my search results and it looked good, so I booked a king room to share with a friend. It was a bit quiet and empty when we checked in, but all the staff at the front desk were very welcoming and warm. It really brightened up my tiring journey! 😊 They even specifically gave us a room with a great view and location. The room itself was really spacious, and the bed was wide enough for two people to sleep comfortably, and super soft! There's an indoor heated pool and gym on the second floor, both free to use. The only downside is that there's no self-service laundry, but I heard the hotel is planning to add it. If I come back, I hope that service will be available – that would make it perfect! It's also very close to shopping areas. This place is great for a slow-paced, relaxing life. Highly recommend! 🥳

The room directly overlooks the artificial lake, which is absolutely beautiful. If I were to visit again in March or April when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, it would be truly magnificent. The breakfast was also quite enjoyable; I even got to make my own waffles, which were wonderfully fluffy and soft, just like the ones my grandma used to make back home. The environment here is also very relaxing and pleasant.

A Perfect, Peaceful Stay with Amazingly Helpful Staff. We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It's located in a quiet part of Yangshuo, which was perfect for us—peaceful yet still convenient.
The hotel itself is very clean and neat. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed. The highlight was definitely the rooftop terrace, which has a really amazing view. Next time, we'll book a balcony room for sure!
What truly set this hotel apart was the staff. They are incredibly helpful and do their utmost to communicate and solve any issues. Their standout moment was helping us arrange a private car during the busy Spring Festival holiday at a very good price, which was a lifesaver. They also helped us hire e-bikes easily.
We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Yangshuo. Highly recommended!

This hotel boasts stunning scenery, offering an unobstructed view of the Li River. We stayed in a room with a terrace, where we could relax on a recliner and watch the sunrise and sunset – truly deserving of its spot on Asia's most beautiful hotels list. The room was spacious and well-equipped, featuring a smart toilet and fast hot water. The bedding was comfortable, and the room was clean and tidy. The staff were all very enthusiastic and provided excellent service. You can also go fishing by the river on the ground floor, and in the afternoon, there's cormorant fishing where you can take free photos – a great experience if you're with kids. Plus, the hotel's central location makes it convenient for visiting many attractions.

This hotel is perfectly situated right by the Two Rivers and Four Lakes Scenic Area, directly opposite the Sun and Moon Pagodas. It's also next door to the pedestrian street and only about 300 meters from Elephant Hill Park. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and the breakfast was both plentiful and delicious.

Facilities: The rooftop infinity pool is incredibly photogenic, and there's a children's park right outside the door that my kids absolutely loved. The room even had children's books, which they were instantly engrossed in.
Cleanliness: The room was spotless, and the bedding was super comfortable—I slept like a baby.
Ambiance: The decor was very whimsical and kid-friendly; the floor mat and tent in the room were my children's favorites.
Service: The front desk staff were friendly, responsive, and paid attention to the small details, making for a fantastic experience.
I was so satisfied with my first stay that I immediately booked another hotel from the same brand for our trip to Yangshuo the next day.

The entire stay was a terrible and frustrating experience. First, my takeout order arrived at the ground floor at 8:20 PM. After waiting about 25 minutes for it to be delivered to my room, I politely called the front desk. They told me it was being delivered by a robot. I waited another 5 minutes and still didn't receive it, so I called again to inquire. Only then did the front desk actually confirm that the concierge on the ground floor hadn't placed the order in the robot. It took three phone calls from me and 40 minutes for one takeout order to get from the ground floor to my room. Second, my reservation included late check-out, and I confirmed this at check-in. On the day of check-out, the front desk called to say I had already exceeded the check-out time. Only after I reminded them did they bother to check my booking details. In both instances, they offered a verbal 'we are very sorry' – probably knowing that as a guest, I couldn't really do anything about it. But in reality, one problem led to another, and the entire system, from central coordination and communication to the front desk service, completely fell apart. I originally chose The Luxury Collection over Shangri-La. Now, I've learned my lesson and will choose Shangri-La. There are many 'cloud' hotels (referring to high-end hotels) everywhere, but not every one of them is as annoying as The Luxury Collection.

HHaoyunlailyyThis hotel in Yangshuo was such a pleasant surprise! You get amazing mountain views right from your room. The rooftop 'Sky Mirror' offers stunning panoramic views of the winding Li River – it's like a built-in filter for your photos, every shot looks professional! The hotel's location is excellent, right next to West Street, making it super convenient for exploring and dining. Plus, there's free parking, which is a huge bonus if you're driving.
They offer a complimentary buffet breakfast, and the rooms are spacious. I loved relaxing on the balcony sofa during the day, just unwinding and enjoying the mountain scenery, and then watching the sunset in the evening – it felt like time just slowed down. The room I booked even had a soaking tub, and bathing while looking at the mountains was incredibly relaxing! For anyone looking to escape the city for a bit, a weekend here is truly rejuvenating!

GGuest UserI was really satisfied with the hotel I stayed at during this trip. The room was very clean, had no strange smells, and the bed was comfortable, so I slept really well at night. The bathroom had plenty of hot water, which made showering very convenient, and all the toiletries were provided.
The front desk staff had a good attitude and check-in was quick. They were also very patient when answering our questions. The location was decent too, making it easy to go out for meals and shopping. The room size was appropriate, with good lighting and ventilation, and the soundproofing was acceptable – I wasn't disturbed by any noise.
It offers great value for money, with no hidden fees, making for a worry-free stay. Overall, there were no major downsides, and I would definitely choose to stay here again if I'm ever in the area. I truly recommend it to everyone.

AAbuzabi-kakaMy first time in Guilin, and my ten-day stay here has been wonderful. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuine care from every single staff member.
My day always started pleasantly with the buffet breakfast at 'Li Café' on the first floor. They offer not only a rich international feast but also authentic Guilin rice noodles and other local specialties. Nick Liang and his team are always hands-on, ensuring the restaurant runs smoothly.
Disy Chen from the Horizon Club is incredibly enthusiastic, always anticipating guests' needs, and her attention to detail makes you feel like family.
Anna Quan from housekeeping on the 7th floor exemplifies Shangri-La's meticulous service. Her thoughtful and detailed care makes the room a truly relaxing sanctuary.
Concierge staff proactively open doors and handle luggage, always with a genuine smile, as if welcoming a family member home from a long journey. The service is seamless.
Our hotel boasts a massive 'Twin Camphor Garden' right by the river. The gardening staff not only maintain the plants beautifully but also greet guests with a warm smile, making you feel very welcome.
The back garden also features a mini zoo, which is cleaned meticulously every morning with no unpleasant odors, showing the hotel's care for every little creature.
If you're looking for a warm and genuinely touching place to stay in Guilin, this is absolutely the ideal choice.

GGuest UserAbsolutely enjoyed our stay at Qingshan Yunshe, earth village in a group of 2 families with 3 kids. Simple clean rooms as shown in pictures, a big projector, loaded with cartoon and movie content. Kids also loved the KTV, small childrens play area and video games arcade area. Super freindly and helpful staff at front desk addressed all our queries, arranged massage, scooter rental. Can arrange taxi rentals and tours too. Laundry, ironing, snacks, bottled water, traditional dress and afternoon tea were available for free. Convenient location, just 10 mins walk to west street. Supermarkets on the opposite side, a resturant that could cater to our vegan needs right below the hotel. Its a great budget friendly choice to explore Yangshou!

GGuest UserThis hotel in Chongzuo is truly a hidden gem and absolutely worth it! ✨
The environment is incredible, surrounded by lush greenery, making it incredibly healing and relaxing.
The breakfast is both beautiful and delicious, I looked forward to it every morning and was always super satisfied.
Even though the room rate is a bit on the higher side, the experience makes it completely worth every penny. There are so many free activities daily, staying for 4 days felt anything but boring. It's not just for families; even adults without kids can have a fantastic time here.
I've already recommended it to friends with children – it's a great place to bring the kids.
And a huge shoutout to our butler, Doris! She was incredibly thoughtful and professional. She reached out before we even checked in, and was always responsive to all our requests throughout our stay. Her service was outstanding!
Having such an amazing butler truly elevated our travel experience. I'll definitely be back!
SSeet-HutterThis hotel directly overlooks the picturesque Li River where you can witness the fishermen's bamboo rafts with their cormorants anchored to the promenade. It's a popular spot for tourists in their hired period costumes trying to achieve the most photogenic shot of Yangshuo's world-renowned karst mountains. The hotel's roof terrace on the fifth floor offers uninterrupted vistas of this stunning landscape. The hotel's buffet breakfast is great value for its price and comes highly recommended. The hotel rooms are spacious and even those which face inwards look out to a leafy courtyard with pretty fountains. The staff, from the chambermaids to the lady at the guest laundry, were all super helpful. Special thanks to Maya/沫沫 at the front desk who devised an excellent itinerary for our private excursion with a driver. Equally outstanding was Lacey/橙子, also at the reception. She was very accommodating to the multiple requests of hotel guests, and in a truly earnest rather than perfunctory manner. Both of them are assets to the service industry. The hotel's attention to detail in terms of its interior design is laudable : the concept of Yangshuo's landscape is visually captured throughout the hotel - from the nameplate at its entrance to the signage of the room numbers, they all feature symbolic silhouettes of those iconic karst mountains and the fishermen with their cormorants. One suggestion to the hotel's management is for them to provide an English language news channel on their television : in view of the increasing foreign clientele, it is indeed glaring that even their national CGTN news channel is not available.

SSurewin27We chose this hotel to escape the busy West street area, and in terms of scenery and overall environment, it delivered. However, the stay had a mix of comfort and frustrations that future guests should know.
We arrived around 3:45 pm but our assigned room wasn’t ready. I had confirmed an 8th fl room the night before, yet we were initially offered a 6th fl room. After a 15 mins wait, we got 806. Not a major issue, but not a smooth start.
Room Experience:
The room itself has a beautiful mountain view and a comfortable bed. There was a strong vinegar-like cleaning smell when we entered. Soundproofing is quite poor—you can hear neighbors clearly (spitting, talking, etc.)
During our stay, there were frequent firecrackers due to the Qingming Festival. Laundry room is a plus (washer + dryer available). Gym is very minimal (only 4 machines).
Wi-Fi was a major downside: very slow (single-digit Mbps), only 2.4 GHz. Power outlets are limited and inconveniently placed. Most staff were friendly, but English is not spoken at the front desk. We noticed some perks (like dining discounts or small entertainment offers) were shared with other guests but not proactively mentioned to us—so it’s worth asking directly. Our 8th fl room was also near a photo spot, so there was noise from people taking pictures and chatting. At checkout, we saw other guests receiving small gift bags. We only received ours after asking—it included luohan guo, a local specialty for tea.
One interesting note: we observed guests being encouraged to leave 5-star reviews in exchange for a small incentive: a 20 RMB prop which may explain the high ratings.
Final Verdict:
A solid option if you want a quieter location with nice views, but the hotel falls short on soundproofing, Wi-Fi quality, and consistency in service. Set expectations accordingly, and don’t hesitate to ask about available perks.
