"The Jinling Hotel Asia Pacific Tower is located in the heart of Xinjiekou. Deji Plaza is right outside, and it's very convenient to take the subway. It's not far from the Presidential Palace and Nanjing Museum, about a 20-yuan taxi ride, making sightseeing very easy.
The hotel has a more classic design, with warm yellow lighting and wooden interiors. From the high-floor, floor-to-ceiling windows, you can overlook the city. The bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing in the rooms is good.
As an established five-star hotel, the service is excellent. Check-in at the front desk was efficient. Staff escorted us from the Jinling Tower to the Asia Pacific Tower and thoughtfully introduced us to the dining options around the hotel.
Breakfast is on the 56th floor and includes their signature Jinling steamed buns and duck blood vermicelli soup. On the 4th floor, there's a pool and gym, both free to use.
I needed a firm pillow, and the hotel provided one upon request. When housekeeping cleaned the room, they specifically arranged our skincare products neatly on a small towel. Any requests were responded to quickly."

GGuest UserThe hotel environment is decent, but the check-in experience was just so-so. Besides the room phone, it was difficult to find someone to ask questions, and a certain front desk staff member wasn't clear in their communication. I booked a Lijing Twin Room, and it was very inconvenient traveling with a child.
First: Upon arrival, there were no directions on how to get to the lobby. I had to park in the parking lot and then carry my luggage to the lobby. The room assigned and the lobby were in two different buildings, requiring me to lug my bags up and down. With no directions or map, it felt like a maze trying to find my way around.
Second: I extended my stay for one night, but I still had to go to the front desk to reactivate my room card. The first time, they were busy, and I said I'd go back to my room and they could process it over the phone. They said that was fine, and didn't mention I absolutely had to come to the front desk. Later, when I called, they said it wasn't possible and I *had* to come in person or add them on WeChat. Even by check-out, my WeChat friend request hadn't been accepted!
To get to the front desk, I had to take two elevators or walk outside in the rain. The corridors were also very winding and long, making it inconvenient to get to the lobby and restaurant. There were many self-service aspects, and they didn't explain the parking rules, which resulted in me being charged when I drove out.
In short, they only answer if you ask; otherwise, you get no information.
All the so-called 'special features' or 'unique activities' were chargeable, and the travel photography was just a joke.

Check-in at the front desk was efficient and the staff were friendly. The location is also convenient for getting around, and it offers great value for money. The hotel is located right in the heart of Shantang Street, which makes it very convenient for shopping, sightseeing and exploring the area on foot. However, there is an important drawback: cars cannot reach the hotel directly. You will need to drag your luggage for several hundred metres along a rocky path to get there.
To reach the hotel, you also have to walk through its front shop, which functions partly as a silk shop and museum. During peak hours, this area can get extremely crowded and hectic, making it quite difficult to navigate with luggage. This can be particularly inconvenient for families with young children or those travelling with large or multiple suitcases.
**Room:**
The room was relatively clean and spacious, with a bathtub. However, the view was disappointing as our room faced a 民宿/local residential buildings rather than the river. The room came with basic amenities.
**Service:**
The front desk staff, Xin, Summer and Xiao Ma, were helpful and friendly. Fish food was provided for the kids to feed the koi while we waited for check-in, which was a nice touch. The staff also helped carry our luggage to our room and, during check-out, helped bring our luggage to the designated pick-up point where our driver could meet us.
**Breakfast:**
Breakfast was a set meal consisting of noodles with bamboo shoots and meat, a hard-boiled egg, corn, pickles and grapes. It was very simple and, honestly, not very tasty. We ended up leaving most of it untouched.
**Add-ons / Extras:**
Apparently, the minibar is complimentary, but this was not mentioned to us during check-in. Some snacks also appeared to be provided for free, although again, we were not informed about this. We also did not receive the welcome fruit mentioned on the booking website.
There is a complimentary 30-minute photoshoot that includes three free photos, with the option to purchase additional photos. Unfortunately, our experience with the photoshoot was very disappointing. The photographer appeared inexperienced and struggled to find flattering angles. Many of the photos were overexposed or captured awkward facial expressions. We were quite surprised by the overall quality of the photos.
**Overall:**
The hotel's biggest advantage is definitely its location — being right on Shantang Street makes sightseeing extremely convenient. The staff were also helpful and accommodating. However, the difficult luggage access, crowded entrance, disappointing breakfast and poor-quality photoshoot were significant drawbacks, especially for families travelling with young children and large luggage.

GGuest UserThe hotel was undergoing renovations during my stay, so the lobby and restaurant were temporarily relocated, which was a bit inconvenient. However, the hotel's service was excellent. The butler proactively contacted me to confirm my room preferences, and everything was perfectly set up when I entered the room. Although the restaurant was moved to a smaller area with fewer buffet options, they offered a la carte service. Dishes like eggs Benedict and scrambled eggs were beautifully plated and presented, which was fantastic!

BboboksrThis is my fourth time staying at the Taicang Karuizawa Onsen Hotel, and I'm still extremely satisfied. This time, I came for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday with my mom, husband, and son. The hotel's overall environment is quiet and comfortable, the rooms are serene, well-equipped, and have a quality feel. The hygiene has always been excellent, making for a very reassuring stay.
My favorite part is still the hot springs – warm, comfortable, and very authentic. For me, the cleanliness of the hot spring area is particularly important, and Karuizawa consistently meets expectations in this regard. Each soak leaves me feeling relaxed both physically and mentally, making it perfect for a short holiday getaway.
The hotel's surroundings are also ideal for a vacation. It's about a 15-minute drive to Shaxi Ancient Town, which has lots of delicious food. Nearby is JinCang Lake Park, with its excellent ecological environment, perfect for a family stroll and relaxation. We drove from Shanghai, which took about an hour and a half, so the transportation is very convenient. That's why for the past two years, whenever a holiday comes around, we think of staying here for a few days.
During this stay, the hotel service also felt very warm. The staff were friendly and thoughtful, and the restaurant service was especially attentive, proactively caring for and asking about our needs. When they learned my mom had a sensitive stomach, they even specially added plain congee, which was truly thoughtful. Because we've stayed multiple times over the past two years, the hotel even offered a complimentary private hot spring this time, making us feel their full sincerity and a truly welcoming atmosphere.
In short, the Karuizawa Onsen Hotel has become our family's go-to for short holiday getaways. Everything from the rooms, hot springs, hygiene, and service to the surrounding environment leaves us very satisfied. We'll definitely be back if we get the chance in the second half of the year.

AAnonymous UserBefore checking in, there's a dedicated service butler who adds you on WeChat. It's a very human and friendly customer service team. I’ve included screenshots from WeChat where they helped chase up afternoon tea, brought welcome gifts, and even helped with food deliveries. This was really thoughtful, especially since deliveries usually can't reach the hotel during the day at the Expo Garden, which was a concern for me. I’m so grateful to the service team for their quick assistance in getting my delivery! ❤️
Also, the breakfast service was very proactive and attentive to detail. There was a staff member dedicated to making coffee, complete with latte art. I ordered two cups at different times, and both had beautiful latte art. They didn't let the service quality drop even when it was busy, which is fantastic and truly sets them apart from traditional five-star hotels. The service software is impeccable, and the staff are all genuinely friendly and warm.
I typed every single word of this review by hand because the dedication of the service team deserves every bit of my feedback. Wishing them all the best! I'll definitely be visiting more Banyan Tree resorts in the future. For hot spring hotels in Nanjing, Banyan Tree is top-tier, no doubt about it.
