Good value if you stay for 7 plus nights on a long stay rate. Was happy with the size and facilities in my Queen room, however it was very hot and the aircon didn't work. The hotel is set in different (linked)buildings and one of the buildings was noticeably hotter both times I've stayed there in April and May. Both times the hotel upgraded me to a room on the riverside which is much cooler (with working air con) and with a view of the river. The housekeeping staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Lots of choice for breakfast and buffet kept topped up. Really enjoyed my stay - both times. Great location too!

Beautiful location, I attended a friend's birthday party best service was received at the buffet restaurant in the evening and again in the morning by a younger blonde eastern European woman, she went so out of her way to help me both times, I wish I had asked her name. The buffet breakfast had everything you could possibly want, well worth the $17 cost.. I booked the Coleman Suite and it was beyond amazing, but the basic rooms some of my friends had seemed overpriced.. I should have used to pool, sauna and other amenities but there was no time with the party, I would recommend staying for at least 2 days next time. Wonderful stay, just too short.

The hotel staff I spoke to were great, room was ok - comfy beds, I actually slept all night once I was able to get off. The walls are paper thin though and I could hear the full conversation of our neighbours - this went on quite late for us. Spa is fab - when it’s all in working order, this is the first time we’ve visited when the hydro pool has been working - so you might want to check this if you’re planning to visit. The sauna had been switched off and unfortunately we weren’t in the spa long enough for it to heat back up, but we enjoyed the pool & jacuzzi. The food at the birdcage restaurant is delicious but the service lets it down - slow & sloppy! We had to get the attention of 3 staff members who had been stood in the kitchen talking for 5 minutes, just to pay our bill, as nobody was on the floor. They also have no communication - I paid to get £50 food allowance and the food was still on my bill - had I not checked I would have been out of pocket but the staff should know we have this as we booked through our room number. Its a real shame the place has these let downs because despite all of that I do actually enjoy coming here, but soon I think the bad may outweigh the good and make us venture elsewhere.

Enjoyed experience. Took advantage of a paid for upgrade and the room was excellent. Generally, the upgrades were great (free parking), however, as part of the upgrade we got drink vouchers (6 x drinks per couple over two days). This was a bit footery as the choice of drinks was very limited (either bottled beer or glass of certain wines). I prefer draught beer and my wife doesn't partucularly like wine so we struggled what to choose. Buffet breakfasts are either hit or miss and on this occasion our experience was plenty of choice but the hot Buffet was luke warm at best. That said it is a really good hotel in a great location and catered for all our needs

We stayed here along the way, traveling from Scotland to Lincolnshire. And was pleasantly surprised that this hotel location is right on the bus route which goes into the city centre (bus 20). Giving us an easy opportunity to visit the cathedral without the hassle of trying to park our car downtown. Very convenient! And hotel staff very pleasant and helpful, overall a nice overnight stay

What a wonderful stay for us girls, for a friends 60th. Beautiful boutique hotel. Lovely, decorated, different, double rooms. Good breakfast. Great location. Thank you Daisy for looking after us! You were very kind, helpful, friendly and professional. Thank you also to housekeeping services. Cleanliness second to none, ladies were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Will be planning a return trip, and to stay this time in outside rooms with jacuzzi baths.

One of the friendliness hotel inns ever ! we stay often at this hotel as my husbands family live close by. The staff here can’t do enough for you and it’s nice to be recognised each visit gives it a personal touch nothing is to much trouble such a warm abs friendly atmosphere every time we go .Hotel is kept immaculate shops close by on site to a perfect location ! We have recently had our wedding here and what a magical day it was! It was everything that we had ever dreamed of right down to the finest detail. The service was fantastic from all staff, they made sure everything ran very smoothly and on time. The room looked incredible, the food was lovely and they really couldn’t have done anything more for us from start to finish. We booked our wedding 2 years prior to the date and from then on Clare was always on hand for any questions and ideas. We also booked burns cottage for the weekend for both sides of the family to stay in. It was so spacious, clean and really handy for everyone to have their own space. Huge shout out to Clare, Kellie and Andy for making our day so perfect we could never thank you enough! 💕 Mr & Mrs Race

Stayed for 2 nights at The Village Inn. Room was spacious and clean. En-suite shower was adequate shower temperature not great. But for £24 per night was great value. Can’t comment on other aspects of the hotel as it was all shut due to covid regulations.

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent restaurant facilities. Previous reviews focus on the lovely setting and wonderful customer service. I was conscious not to book during a wedding event as it was just a anniversary stay for the two of us and reservation staff assured us this was the case. Delighted by experience as the evening meal was also of a high standard. Only area to improve are the leisure facilities which would make it a 5/5 experience.
