"My main concern about this hotel stay was the towels in the room; almost every single one had hair and dirty marks. The faucet had to be turned on manually because the pull rod directly opposite it was completely unusable. Slippers and toothbrushes can be requested from the front desk. It would have been perfect if the cleaning staff had cleared the cobwebs near the window and ensured the towels were clean. Also, the room was on the 5th floor, requiring an elevator ride to the third floor and then climbing two more flights of stairs. The front desk staff were quite patient, though."

GGuest UserWe booked two lovely ”King” rooms - very clean and comfortable, in superb settings. The hotel is very conveniently located to allow a short walk into the town.
We stayed for two nights, and there were busy weddings on both days - but there was minimal noise, and the wedding guests added to the lovely atmosphere.
The hotel appeared to be almost fully booked for both days, so finding that only ONE lift was working was less than helpful (we were told that the other lift had been out of action ”for some time”, due to the hotel ”awaiting spare parts”?)
Annoyingly, the one working lift only went up to the 4th floor, so to reach our room on the 5th floor we had to hump our suitcases up the stairs - minor inconvenience, but unexpected from such a prestigious hotel.
Our biggest gripe was (a.) the lack of available parking spaces (one car park had a huge marquee erected on it for a function) and (b.) being told when checking in that there was a parking charge of £18 per night - even though there was no mention on the website or on the booking details. It felt rather ”cheap and petty” for a hotel to have to stoop to fleecing their guests for parking fees to park at their hotel! We estimated that there were around 150 cars - so guests with cars are subsiding the hotel by over £2500 per night.
All-in-all, a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a lovely hotel set in lovely surroundings - we would definitely stay there again.

GGuest UserYes the room was dated, and yes the room was hot. However the room was clean, comfortable and a fan was provided to help circulate the warm air. The windows have restricted openings most likely due to H&S but with the fan it was enough to move the warm air out and allow cooler air in.
Check up was chaotic but the lady apologized and explained they had a member of the staff off sick. She worked her way through everyone as quickly as she could giving everyone the same warm welcome.
Breakfast was enjoyable and the spa area was a delight offering everything you need.
After checking out I realized I left my sunglasses in the room. The cleaning team were so helpful allowing me access to retrieve them and to double check I had everything

GGuest UserThe room was spacious, perfect for two adults and a child, and they even arranged an extra bed for us in advance. The outdoor balcony was quite comfortable, and they provided complimentary snacks. Out of the four hotels we stayed at during our UK trip, this was the only one that didn't require a deposit. Highly recommend!

GGuest UserLocated within a golf course, the hotel boasts a tranquil, peaceful, and comfortable environment with beautiful scenery. However, it's quite far from the city center, about a 30-minute drive from York's Old Town. If you're not traveling by car, it's not the best choice for accommodation. But if you have a car, it's an excellent option as parking is free.
The hotel has two restaurants with good food, but they are very expensive and the portions are small – typical fine dining. If you don't want to spend too much on food, it's best to eat in the city before entering the hotel.

GGuest UserWe’ve stayed at Delta Hotels York multiple times now, and it continues to be a fantastic choice every single visit. This was our 6th stay, and once again, it was a solid 10/10 experience.
The hotel is always spotless—super clean and tidy throughout—which makes a big difference the moment you walk in. The room service is top-notch, and everything feels well thought out and well maintained. We especially appreciated the welcoming amenities in the room, including a great selection of coffee and the Ninja coffee pod machine, which was a lovely touch.
The rooms and bathrooms are impressively spacious, with plenty of room to relax comfortably. It never feels cramped, which really adds to the overall experience. The staff are consistently friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful, making every stay smooth and enjoyable.
Another big plus for us is the leisure facilities—the jacuzzi and pool are a great bonus and perfect for unwinding. On top of that, the on-site parking is safe, convenient, and reasonably priced, which is one of the main reasons we keep choosing this hotel when visiting York.
Overall, a reliable and welcoming place that never disappoints. We’ll definitely be back again.

Amazing
GGuest UserEverything about the whole experience was amazing from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble at all. The staff were all very friendly and could not have obliged any better that. We went out on the Saturday evening into York and the hotel booked us a taxi. Upon return we had a night cap to finish off a beautiful day. The General Manager was interested to hear how the day and evening had been and stayed with us for about 15 minutes. The dinner we had on the Friday night and the breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday were lovely. We will definitely return at a later date..

GGuest UserMy wife and I had a wonderful 4 days at Gamekeepers Inn. The accommodation, service, location, cleanliness, staff, food, rooms, leisure centre and... well... EVERYTHING was of such high quality. All the staff were lovely and really looked after us, especially Dan (the manager) who very quickly and generously improved my accessibility needs when he learned I had Parkinson's Disease, which I had forgotten to mention when booking. A huge thank you to the staff, and to Yorkshire for being so beautiful! Can't wait to return in the future.

GGuest UserI booked this as a surprise for my partners birthday and he was definately surprised. We were upgraded on arrival to a Junior Suite from our executive room which was simply amazing. We were greeted with a bottle of champagne in our room and some other complimentary goodies which was also very lovely.
We ate in the Orchard Restaurant and again he was welcomed by the Restaurant Manager and given a Birthday Card. The food was delicious and the atmosphere with the live band playing was perfect.
A really lovely stay and would look forward to going again.
