GGuest UserThe open-air bath was amazing! The changing room, shower room, and balcony open-air bath were all connected, which was great. The air purifier and the corners of the room were a little rough, but it wasn't too bad. The staff were very helpful and polite when I checked in! There were some shops open until around 10 PM, so I could go for a walk even after relaxing at the hotel! I couldn't go this time, so I'll save it for next time. (T_T) I was shocked that the room service I ordered was cold. The room didn't have a microwave, which was a problem! The food was delicious!! There was also a snack and drink set that looked delicious! Thank you so much!

AAnonymous UserWe used this hotel as a family celebration trip. The facilities were beautiful and lovely, but what really impressed us was the warm and wonderful service from the staff. Due to the earthquake in Russia, trains were stopped and we had no means of transportation, but they extended our check-out time and were very accommodating. The food was delicious, and each dish was carefully prepared. The breakfast buffet was also very satisfying, with so many options, including Japanese and Western cuisine, that we couldn't finish it all. We signed up for morning yoga, and started the morning off right in the open space surrounded by greenery on the property, listening to the birds chirping and feeling the breeze, which was a wonderful way to start the day. Next time we visit, we'd like to enjoy a cruise or something similar.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very overpriced for an old facility.  We booked an oceanview room but the windows are blocked with bars and can barely be opened.  Our room on the second floor could barely see the ocean.  Furniture and decoration scream OLD.   Most front desk workers are not Japanese.  They claim to have an ”international crew” but the problem is they don't know much about Japan.  When we asked the doorman about taking trains, he didn't have a crew because he just got to Japan from another Asian country.  On the other hand, the restaurants only have Japanese workers and no one speaks English.  We booked an 8-course dinner.  The chef was going around to explain the dishes to guests but just left us when he found out we don't speak Japanese.  The menu is in Japanese only.   This hotel also charged us at 135:1 foreign exchange rate while all other hotels charged 142-144:1 JPY-USD.  It's not a foreigner friendly hotel and way overpriced for what it is.

GGuest UserThe view from the bath was great. The breakfast was also substantial and delicious. Compared to other luxury inns, it is reasonably priced, but the service and facilities were satisfactory enough to make me wonder how low the score on Google Maps was. I would like to stay again if I have another chance.

Outstanding
GGuest UserBooked this as a side trip from Osaka to escape the city and have some quiet time. Set in a tiny village in the middle of a mountainous & forested area alongside a beautiful river with tons of waterfalls, very picturesque and perfect for walking around. The hotel itself is immaculate with great amenities including large bathing areas. Food was incredible and service was top-notch with staff that were always friendly, helpful and eager to please. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting an authentic Japanese-style onsen hotel in a tranquil setting.

Amazing
RRonThe hotel suite is 100m2 and is huge . Our suite was with 3 futons, perfect for 3 gentlemen. The huge bathroom was well supplied with the nicest cosmetic amenities and fluffy towels. Everything in the refrigerator was free, even wines. However we did not consume any. The Club lounge on the fifth floor was already well supplied with all kinds of snacks, beverages and wines, open from morning to late night. We had a Japanese breakfast on day and a western breakfast on the second day. Both were excellent.

LLobbAs expected from a hotel with such history and tradition, it's truly wonderful. The service is, of course, excellent, and the French dinner was superb. Breakfast is a buffet, and it can feel a bit rushed due to the crowds, but there's plenty to enjoy. The onsen (bath) is a bit of a walk, but it's very good. I was surprised by how many foreigners there were, and it was interesting to see them all wearing yukata and seemingly accustomed to the onsen experience. The photo is of Toba Bay, visible from my room.

GGuest UserStay for one night to visit the Shima Spain Village. The location is a little bit far from the main station. However, the hotel have shuttle bus service and we could arrive the destination smoothly. The room is clean, the free hot spring (onsen) is good, the buffet-style breakfast is not bad, and the staff is very friendly. Overall, it's a nice stay.

BBaixuanThis was my first Aman experience with my mom. We departed from Tokyo and it was pretty smooth. The hotel provided pick-up and drop-off. I highly recommend booking a half-day pearl diving experience and Ama hut with the hotel. The hot spring and infinity pool were also super perfect. The service was even better. I also encountered a lot of wild bayberry trees growing in the hotel while riding my bike. They were pollution-free and pesticide-free. I had a lot of fun picking them with my mom! It was a very unforgettable two nights. I loved staying there. There happened to be fireworks on the two days I stayed. I was so happy.

GGuest UserI used it well at a reasonable price :) From the looks of it, I'm not sure how things will change since interior construction is scheduled to begin in May, but the breakfast was delicious too! If you go under the hotel, you can also find a delicious eel rice bowl restaurant!
