Hotels With Spa in Zanzibar North, Tanzania

The location and hotel facilities are great, awesome beach. Unfortunately I had stomach problems from the food provided at their restaurant, need to pay attention to hygiene. Was also surprised that they don’t provide amenities such as disposable slippers, toothpaste and toothbrush, these are basic things that can literally be offered anywhere, if it’s not in their policy best just to add the 1$ to the reservation price or have it in the stores inside their compound instead of letting visitors wander outside the hotel looking to purchase these goods .

Our stay at Double A Nungwi Hotel in Zanzibar was excellent overall. We were thrilled with our stunning room, which was made even better thanks to a complimentary room upgrade. The views were simply amazing, and the staff did a great job ensuring that vendors didn't hassle us too much during our stay. The restaurant served incredible food, though it was quite slow at times. This was only a problem when we had to catch a taxi home, and breakfast ended up taking an hour. Despite this, the staff were absolutely wonderful and accommodating. I can't believe the restaurant wasn't busier- we ate there for all of our meals for three days and weren't disappointed! Unfortunately, we did experience a disturbing incident one night. We heard the general manager verbally abusing his staff, yelling and using swear words- perhaps he didn't realize we were sitting outside of our room. It was a horrible experience that left us feeling uncomfortable. When we asked the staff about it the next day, they graciously laughed it off, but it didn’t sit right with us. He also was served (like a king) during the day- it was clear the power dynamic wasn't healthy. We sincerely hope the owner addresses this issue and ensures that such behavior towards the staff changes. Overall, Double A Nungwi Hotel offers a beautiful and enjoyable stay with some areas needing improvement, particularly in terms of management behavior.

The location of the hotel is very good, in the core area of tourism, there are various sea sports, and the white sandy beach is particularly beautiful The ecological environment is very good. You can see all kinds of marine life when you catch the sea. I even saw a family of sea anemones and clownfish. The disadvantage is that the room is relatively small and the facilities are relatively simple It should be noted that we found the legendary man-of-war jellyfish on the beach, so be careful not to step on it

We stayed in this hotel for one week and sincerely it was my best experience. I made a huge hotel in several countries and it restored my favorite. It is a hotel of a human size whose staff and owner really take care of their clients, and that is whatever the time of day or night. The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I thank Mr ALI in particular for having welcomed and taken care of making our stay pleasant, as well as his team MWINYI AND MWANTAMA, EMMACULETA, RAJAB (and its super pancakes), HASSAN, ABDULRAHMAN, and all the others I've not mentioned. I recommend it !

The hotel is large, the rooms are very nice, and the beach and swimming pool are very beautiful! It is convenient to include three meals, but the taste is not particularly suitable for Chinese people. Maybe because the hotel is too big and there are too many guests, the service feels a little lacking, but overall it meets my expectations. The beach is really beautiful!

We stayed here for one week in a superior bungalow in December over new years. The welcome was lovely and personally met by the guest experience manager with a refreshing cold wet flannel and a chilled fresh juice bought to you as well. Once the paper work is done you get shown around your room. Our bungalow was big and clean with a big comfortable bed, the room was cleaned and mopped and every day, in the evening a turn down service where they also sprayed the room and removed any rubbish. There was a kettle, fridge, coffee machine, hairdryer , a free safe with the key on your door key ring and fresh safe drinking water which is replenished every day as well as drinks in the fridge. We booked directly with the hotel and booked the experienced couples package which included 7Nts all inclusive, airport transfers, trip to the spice farm and stone town. Food is cooked to order you get a breakfast and lunch menu with specials at lunch and dinner is a new menu every night. All produce is washed in bottled water and ice is also made from it as well. The food is delicious but the service doesn’t match the standard which lets the experience down. We could be waiting up to an hour for food and drinks get forgotten so you have to re order again and again. It’s a shame as having this organised in a more efficient way would only improve their guests experience, there are enough staff but seem to hang around chatting or polishing glasses with their backs to the guests. The staff are lovely and genuinely seem happy at work and always have a friendly welcome and or smile for guests. Tips are in a box at reception and divided to all staff. Service is slow around the pool and we didn’t see any snacks or offer of them. The pool bar hardly ever has anyone there serving. The jetty is a lovely place to lounge as there’s a lovely breeze and even though the tide is way out they have made a pool to reserve sea water which is cleaned every 2 days, there is a bar at the jetty as well but again you only get service if it is staffed even though it says it’s open 11-17:00. They have a tip box at reception that gets divided among all staff so this is a good incentive for them to all do their best. They also have a basket for any donation for the less fortunate in the community which was lovely. I purchased some sanitary pads when we went to stone town and put them in there. There isn’t much outside the hotel so you can’t just go for a walk. There is no beach due to the tide and the mangrove it’s just sandy mud in the day and when the tide comes is it’s right up to the hotel. They do have a transfer service to and from a beach which is an 11 minute drive and you need to book it the day before. All you need to do is purchase a drink at the beach bar for the use of their beds. You take beach towels from the hotel to use there. My Blue Hotel is very beautiful and clean. The pool is the absolute highlight. From the pool you can enjoy the sunset super. At the beach there were always many free beds so you had a choice of place at any time. The staff distributed cocoa nuts on the beach daily. The staff is very friendly, food delicious and fresh, the evening program was varied, a very clean hotel. We would recommend it to everyone further. The location and the beach are superb. The hotel offers massages at a good price. We enjoyed the holiday in full trains. The internet was usually bad, however. In the room, there was little reception. This has potential for improvement.

Tui Blue Bahari is 5*+ There is space, good food, great private beaches, 5 restaurants, friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere. There were more sunbeds than guests when we stayed and towels are available poolside. There are bars in the garden, by the beach and at the pool, which are all manned with waiters and bar staff who are happy and efficient. The hotel has security and a private beach and the local tour sellers wait at the beach for you to engage. If you walk straight into the sea from the resort you'll find starfish, urchins and Dory fish. The room door we had wouldn't lock with a firm push and a couple times after the cleaners had been it was unlocked. Overall though 9.5/10 I'd recommend for any special occasion, or for those who want to safari in Tanzania, or swim with dolphins in Mnemba.

We stayed here for 8 days. The property is aging and trying to maintain its charm. The staff are generally friendly and trying to elevate the guest experience. However, our stay was less than stellar missing the mark for what we have come to expect at a Hilton property. The beach vendors are extremely aggressive and not deterred by the security, several bartenders are working deals to reduce bar tabs in favor of their personal tips, and hot water in the shower was unreliable - varied morning to evening with no determined pattern or schedule. The menu at the property was also a disappointment. It was the same menu at the various places to order food, and the supply chain seemed to suffer while we were there and menu items became unavailable while the remaining food quality diminished daily over the course of our stay. We actually opted to leave the property and eat elsewhere toward the end of the week. Beyond these issues, the lack of ability for the property staff to provide change was a constant issue. Everything on the property is tip based and local ATM and banks only distribute larger bills in local currency. This limits our desire to tip, or leave us overtipping with the available bills we could acquire. The property seemed to have no ability or desire to assist us as guests, just hoping we would use larger bills. Overall, we are disappointed with Hilton and would not recommend to stay at this property.

Perfect week, not having many bookings we had a free upgrade of our room, in front of the sea view beach, wonderful! The staff is super nice and available, manager Cyrus also organized a surprise dinner on the beach for us, very pleasant! The sea in front of the resort is amazing, subject to the phenomenon of the floods, often so it is difficult to bath, but walking along the sand languages that emerge the landscape is crazy! For the tours you can book on site with a local tour operator, Abdul is taking care of it, who has satisfied us in every request, also organizing private tours in such a way that they are free to decide on movements and timetables, It was nice and fun to spend time together! The position of Tanzanite is good, walking out c is a few steps the Baraka aquarium where you can notice with the turtles, and 10 minutes drive c is nunungwi beach, adding another 10 minutes you get to kendwa that are two of the most beautiful beaches of Zanzibar.

Our stay was truly exceptional, from the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. The resort has a great location two minutes walk from white sandy Beach with Crystal clear turquoise water. The staff was really friendly willing to assist in every request. They do assist you with transportation and booking you your required trips. The resort has two indoor pools and very nice rooms. I would give it 3/5 for breakfast, Other than that, they do have a restaurant right by the beach, which serves amazing food with beautiful sunset view and they do have entertainment every other night.

Very good resort. Facilities are top quality and well-maintained. Food was very yummy, although breakfast could offer more variety for a 5-star hotel (e.g. there was no smoked salmon for breakfast - I consider salmon to be standard at 5-star hotels catering to international clientele). Staff are well-trained and very professional. The resort also offers spa services as well as tour bookings, but we did not avail of these. For our travel dates the all-inclusive package on trip.com was by far the best value for money compared to booking directly or through any other website. One potential area for improvement is the provision of a mini rack on the balcony/veranda where guests can hang up wet clothes after a tour - would be a nice thing, which I've seen at some other resorts, as some guests just want their clothes to dry, not necessarily washed.

Stayed @ Smiles Beach Hotel for 3 nights, 4 days. Meal plan was Half board (Breakfast & Dinner). Road Access The road to the hotel starts off ok, but towards the middle has HUGE pot holes and after a rain it’s completely filled up with mud. The driver has to move very slowly to avoid any damage to the car. On arrival On arrival we were greeted warmly with a nice cold drink, check in was quick and we were taken to our rooms. We booked 2 rooms. Both were located upstairs but not in the same building. To get to the rooms we have to climb a spiral staircase. Rooms The upper floor has 2 rooms side by side. The room door is a split door with a sliding lock and a padlock. There were a few outdoor furniture in the balcony area. The room itself looked very clean and smelled clean. Coffee & tea station, LCD TV, Mini Fridge, Safety deposit box. The bed is built into the room walls. The orientation of the bed is weird. I am an average height guy, 5’8”, and when I lie down to sleep, from my ankle down is off the bed. But if the bed was orientated the other way, there would be more than enough room. The rooms are old and needs some TLC, ceiling is wood and black dirt keeps falling from the cracks. We were told that the room service will come over around 7.30 at every night to “turn d own” the room. Technically, spray some bug spray outside the room door and setup the mosquito nets. From our 3 nights, this happened only on the last day. That too, the net had a 1cm hole. Bathroom Pretty large bathroom, basic toiletries available (No body lotion or dental kit). The toilets are clean. The sink is a little on the high side. If there are children, it’s a bit hard to reach to brush teeth etc. Garden, pool and private beach front Garden is kept very neat and tidy. We saw a gardener every morning sweeping the grounds. Pool is clean. The tiles on the outside of the pool were cracked and need to be careful while walking. Especially with bare feet. Private beach front is nice and clean. Its, on a higher elevation so you get a nice view. Hawkers and Masai beach boys The are friendly, but can become a bit annoying after some time. So best advice is to be polite, say no thank you. (they are not allowed in the private beach area) Food & Restaurant Breakfast was not bad, it’s a buffet style menu and had a decent variety, each morning something different. Sometimes in the morning there a few flies around and will hover over the fresh fruit. Dinner was a la carte menu and different for each day as well. The downside is that the food quality drops when they have more occupancy. The biggest issue we had was the meal service times. We had to wait almost 1 hour between entree and main and another 45 min for dessert. This was the case every day. There are few felines (cats) inside the restaurant premises. They roam freely and sometimes come and rub themselves on your legs. There were a few other guests that were not very comfortable with this. Als

Best resort in Zanzibar that gives you 5 star treatment ! Absolutely loved their service & warm welcome. Stuff is super nice & kind. If you need any assistance they are kind enough to help you. Their breakfast & dinner buffet is amazing! There’s always music playing + a live band. So many activities to enjoy at the resort. I will choose Sea Cliff resort again!

We are a family of 5 and had always wanted to visit Zanzibar to explore the area better. We booked Moja Tuu for our family and we were extremely happy with the stay and services that were provided by the wonderful staff. The villa was absolutely gorgeous and the addition of the private pool turned out to be great for the family as we were able to make the most out of it by spending quality time together. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the rooms as the rooms were more spacious than what we expected. The food was delicious and there were a wide range of options to choose from. The staff was very considerate and careful with their work. They behaved in a very friendly manner and made it a point to make everyone feel comfortable. Given the location, as it was close to all the tourist attractions, the price that we paid was definitely worth it. I recommended it to all my friends and relatives to book a stay there and have a first-rate experience at Zanzibar.

Beautiful relaxing holiday. Definitely worth a stay if you want to be away from the crowds. Resort is clean and staff are very friendly and always helpful. Not a swimming beach, but pool is awesome. If you can, do the all inclusive as small water is $1. Small glass pineapple juice $3.....(also check all that the travel agent tells you....get everything in writing). Enjoy your holiday....
