It was not even noon when we arrived at the hotel, and the beautiful staff at the front desk let us check in directly, which was a big surprise. The second floor of the hotel is directly connected to the mall. I hadn't been out for a few days and was right next to the mall and the hotel, which was super convenient. The room was clean and tidy, unlike many old American hotels, it was very new. Minnesota Nice really experienced it đ
Facility was quiet and comfortable. Had a good price. No issues.
Appeared building had recently been acquired by new Owners. Lawn sprinkler was broke and sprayed into the same spot in the ground all night. Elevator door frame appeared to have been painted with the skill of a 5 year old. I hope they continue to fix these minor details.
Overall, we a had a great time. Staff were very nice at the front desk, and seemed to be as accommodating as they could. The hotel is about a mile off of the 35 freeway, so it is convenient. If you need handicap parking, don't expect to get it or to park close. There is extremely limited handicap parking, and the overflow parking lat was closed for an event. Expect to have to walk far when you park. Although the gambling floor is now smoke free, they have a smoking lounge and smoking rooms. First impressions are the most important, and when you walk into the hotel lobby, you are overtaken with the stale, undesirable smell of cigarette smoke. Not good!
There are 3 open restaurants and a three bars which we noticed. They buffet is closed, and when asked, there is no plan to reopen it yet. They do have people walking around and offering bar drinks, but they are few and far, so I wouldn't rely on that means for drinks. You are better off going to get your own. Stories restaurant has good food and service. The Hostess could have been more welcoming, but we are all entitled to off days.
Our hotel room was pretty wore out. Furniture was outdated and beat up. Carpet squares in rooms are fraying. TV's are old and remotes don't reliably work. They have had a lot of use, thus intermittently work. Linen is all white and smells freshly washed. Our room had chewed gum on the floor next to the bed and under one of the beds. You can tell they don't deep clean or remove furniture to vacuum, because there is a layer of white dust behind the bed, nite stand and desk which hasn't been cleaned in a while. If you are Zombie Virus concerned, I would bring your own disinfectant wipes to clean remotes, phones, knobs, fridge, and anything else other people touch in the room to ensure it is disinfected. There is no sign that they do it. Rooms are loud. You can hear water running in other rooms, the people talking in the connected room next to you, and people yelling, running and kids screaming in the halls. There is a big crack under the door, so we stuffed a towel under the door to help deaden the hallway sound.
We were told the hot tub was not working, but it was when we checked it out. The pool and area is nice and clean with a lot of big windows and natural light. We didn't swim, so I am not sure if there were pool towels available for use.
Overall, I would stay again. I would not pay the close to 140.00 a night again though. If it the hotel was updated, this facility may be worth that price. There is a game room near the front desk for kids, the pool, hot tub, bars, and good food. I would give this hotel and ****** a C+ grade with room to learn from the patrons whom keep it in operation.
Started out poorly, as the receptionist was asleep (2am) and I had to climb over the counter to wake him. The dining staff were very friendly and bright for breakfast. Room was fine.
My wife and I stayed at the Doubletree in the Midgie Minnesota, while we attended a Brantley Gilbert concert. It was a very fun time, the room was exceptional. We had a blast. Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay at a very nice and clean hotel.
Very convenient and quiet, convenient transportation, walk to the main Mayo building 10-15 minutes. You can walk through skyway. The two restaurants that come with them are delicious and the service is good.

GGuest UserI had a very pleasant stay and found the rooms to be clean and well-maintained. I didn't encounter any major issues during my visit. One helpful tip for future guests: the water vending machines were frequently empty, but you can fill up a reusable bottle for free at the gym! My only reservation was the price point; between the $200+ room rate and the expensive dining options at the casino, the total cost felt a bit high for the overall experience.â
CColleen NelsonThis would have been PERFECT except that on our last night, it sounded as if there was a track meet going on in the room above us. Ground floor room had a great view of the the lake and just steps to the boardwalk. We were.there to watch big ships come & go (husband thing) and couldn't have asked for a better location. Room was large and very clean...with new flooring, great windows that opened, and a comfortable bed.
GGuest UserIt was a good hotel for the price. Good rooms, in good state, and clean. Only the pool wasn't working, which was a bummer. Breakfast is good. Nothing is really warm already though, despite the description at the entrance of the breakfast area. Everything that you end up eating warm, you had to heat it in the microwave. But they have good and tasty options.
AAngela.AStylish stay in the heart of Minneapolis. Excellent location and beautiful rooms equipped with a Nespresso machine. Donât miss the top-floor perks: the Prohibition bar on the 27th floor and the stunning observation deck on the 30th. The brunch at Mannyâs Steakhouse is also a must. Highly recommended!
