Ginkgo Viewing in Xiaogan

4.5
When talking about Xiaogan, one cannot help but mention its amazing ginkgo landscape, especially those ancient ginkgo trees that have gone through vicissitudes and are lush and leafy. In the golden autumn season, the ginkgo leaves turn from green to yellow, and the whole forest seems to be dyed with a layer of dazzling golden color. As the "hometown of ginkgo" in the country, Anlu Qianchong Ancient Ginkgo National Forest Park has a large number of ancient ginkgo communities with a long history, which are of great ornamental value and humanistic feelings. The ginkgo forest in Xiaowu Township, Xiaochang County also has many old ginkgo trees, which is a paradise for photography enthusiasts and outdoor hikers. Whether it is the mist in the early morning or the afterglow in the evening, tourists can capture the heart-warming beauty of ginkgo.China · Anlu

Baizhaoshan Li Bai Cultural Tourism Area, located in the northwest of Anlu, Xiaogan, is where the poet Li Bai in the Tang dynasty dwelled for ten years. There are thousand-year ginkgo trees and wonderful springs. On the left there is a "reading desk"; on the right, the Pen Rack Mountain; and in the middle, the Peach Rock. Here, Li Bai wrote his classic poem, "I was asked why I stayed in the green mountain. With my mellow heart, I laughed and did not answer. Peach flowers run away like flowing creeks. It is a world nothing else on earth can surpass."Anlu · 14.3km from downtown

The Three Gorges Dam Tourism Area

The Three Gorges Dam Tourism Area is located in the Xiling Gorge section of the Yangtze River in Yichang, Hubei. It is a scenic attraction built around the Three Gorges hydro project, covering over ten square kilometers. Currently, it offers travelers three viewing spots: Tanzi Ridge, the 185 viewing platform, and the river closure memorial park. The dam crest itself is not open to travelers, so visits primarily revolve around these three attractions. Tanzi Ridge is the highest accessible point in the dam area, named for its jar-shaped summit viewing platform resembling an overturned jar. It also served as the survey site for the dam's initial location selection. From the ridge top, visitors can overlook the Three Gorges Project in its entirety—the dam, power station, and twin five-level ship locks are all visible. The five lock chambers cascade down the mountainside, earning the nickname "Fourth Gorge of the Yangtze." The park displays engineering artifacts like ancient riverbed stones, river closure rocks, and foundation stones from the dam site, complemented by model exhibits that help visitors intuitively understand the origins and development of this mega-project. The 185 observation platform is located on the left bank of the dam. It gets its name from sharing the same elevation of 185 m as the dam crest. Standing on the platform feels like being atop the dam: on one side, the dam and vertical ship lift are within close reach, offering a chance to witness ships "riding the elevator" over the dam; on the other side lies the vast, tranquil reservoir upstream. The stark contrast between the stillness above and the dynamism below the dam is striking. The closure memorial park is situated on the right bank downstream of the dam, preserving artifacts like tetrahedral closure stones and large loading machinery used during the construction. It's an ideal spot to view the dam's full frontal grandeur. During flood seasons when the dam releases water, torrents rush out from the deep outlets, creating towering mist and thunderous echoes that reverberate through the valley—a truly awe-inspiring spectacle. The three attractions are far apart, and the scenic area provides shuttle buses for transportation. It is recommended to reserve half a day to visit them in order.China · Yichang

Qingchuan Pavilion is located on Hanyang's Tortoise Mountain and faces the Yangtze River, across the river from the Yellow Crane Tower. Qingchuan Pavilion was built in the Ming Dynasty and was named after the Tang Dynasty poet Cui Wei. The pavilion as it exists today was rebuilt in the 1980s according to historical photos. The scenic area consists of three main buildings: Qingchuan Pavilion, Wuhan Dayu's Palace, and Tiemenguan. There are also a number of other attractions such as various stone tablets and monuments, decorated archways, and cloisters, all rich in classical Chinese charm. It is very pleasant to climb up to the pavilion, feel the wind from the river, and enjoy the view of the river. The classical architecture and the greenery here complement each other perfectly, and the beautiful scenery has caused this to become a popular spot for wedding pictures in Wuhan.Wuhan · 96.4km from Anlu

Baizhao Mountain is where Li Bai lived from age 27 to 37, during which time he wrote famous poems such as "Drinking Alone Under the Moon," "The Road to Shu is Hard," and "Drinking Alone Under the Moon." This scenic area includes the Ancestral Hall, Li Bai's birthplace, a statue of Li Bai, the South Heavenly Gate, the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, and other historical sites. The mountain isn't very high; you can walk along, reading the poems, stopping frequently, and eventually reach the giant statue of Li Bai. It's definitely worth a visit.

The Qianchong Ginkgo attractions are scattered and require self-driving or scenic shuttle buses. The scenic shuttle buses are only available on Saturdays and Sundays. I went there on the 24th. The leaves of the Xuhuairuogu Tree have almost fallen, but the leaves of the Shoubinanshan Tree have not yet turned completely yellow.

The festive atmosphere was strong, the performances were wonderful, and the scenery was delightful. As the wall lights came on at night, every corner was a picturesque scene. The white walls and black tiles, the Hui-style architecture, the small bridges and flowing water—all exuded the gentle charm of Jiangnan.

I went there these days. The red cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The scenery was very nice. I rode the Ferris wheel, which was very romantic. I took the children to play the amusement projects. The children had a very happy trip. It was much better than playing with mobile phones at home. It is a recommended scenic spot with great scenery. 👍

A must-see attraction in Wuhan, experience the sentiments expressed by ancient literati as they climbed the tower to gaze at the vast expanse of water, and marvel at the passage of time flowing like the Yangtze River. From the top of today's Yellow Crane Tower, you can see the Yangtze River Bridge, resembling a giant dragon spanning the two banks of the river.

I took my family to Lushan for three days in the summer. The moment we stepped off the bus, we felt a refreshing coolness, unlike the sweltering heat of the city. During the day, the air around Ruqin Lake carried the scent of pine, and the children chased butterflies on the boardwalk without complaining of fatigue. The most unforgettable moment was the day we visited San Die Quan (Three Cascades Spring). It rained a little, but the sound of the water cascading into the pool was thunderous, yet it brought a sense of tranquility. In the evening, we strolled through the town, where the lights were dim and the food was affordable. The elderly said they hadn't slept so soundly in years. The mountains and waters possess a spiritual quality and can soothe fatigue; I'll definitely come back when I want peace and quiet. ⛰️

The exhibited artifacts were quite good; I've also been to joint exhibitions organized by museums like the Hunan Provincial Museum. The Kremlin artifacts here are well-prepared and thoughtfully designed. However, the souvenir and merchandise section was rather boring. I was thinking of buying a pendant or something, but that saved me some money.

The scenic area is filled with the fragrance of osmanthus blossoms. From the top, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Yangtze River Bridge and the Yellow Crane Tower. At the very top, watching the ships on the Yangtze and the cars and trains on the bridge, with the breeze blowing, is very pleasant, and it's not too crowded. The scenic area isn't large; a leisurely hour is about right to appreciate the scenery. Qingchuan Pavilion and Guishan Scenic Area are directly connected by the Iron Gate Pass, which leads to the West Gate of Guishan. Climbing the mountain and enjoying the breeze and osmanthus fragrance is a wonderful experience.
