Over 10,000 mu of grassland sit right next to the city's high-rises, with grass and trees creating a sparse forest and grassland view. Wild animals like hares and wild ducks inhabit the woods and grasslands. You don't need to travel far to experience the vast, boundless grassland atmosphere right on the edge of the city. This scene, where the grassland and high-rises share the same frame, is what distinguishes it from ordinary city parks. The main loop road in the park is approx. 10 km long, suitable for walking, cycling, or touring by electric cart. In the evening, locals often come here for a stroll or jog. Along the way, you can connect highlights like the Aobao Square, the viewing platform, and the Sacred Deer Park: the viewing platform offers a panoramic view of where the grassland meets the city, and the Sacred Deer Park is home to herds of sika deer that you can feed up close. In summer, lavender and verbena bloom in vast fields, with waves of purple flowers spreading across the undulating grassland terrain. Traditional yurts are built in the park, where you can taste Mongolian delicacies like roasted whole lamb, or experience activities such as horseback riding and archery; following the custom of circling the Aobao clockwise 3 times and adding a stone is a popular way for many tourists to check in. If you happen to be there during the annual Aobao Festival, you can witness the lively scene of Mongolian people in traditional costumes gathering on the grassland to hold traditional sacrificial ceremonies.Baotou · 5.5km from downtown

We followed the guide through seven main halls; it was truly admirable that the elderly person accompanied us the entire time, as each hall required climbing many high steps. This is the Little Potala Palace, definitely worth a visit.

The park isn't large; you can walk around in about two hours at a leisurely pace. The main attraction is the display of military equipment, all of which are real and can be handled up close. There's a VR project within the park, which I think is one of the better VR experiences offered in tourist attractions in recent years; FPS games are still far superior. The "tank" driving simulators in the park are actually miniature vehicles designed for children, but there are real ones too, though not in this area, but in the "Military Experience Base" diagonally across the path. While most of the equipment is accessible by standing on, there are some tanks and trains that are clearly marked "Do Not Climb," yet I still saw many children climbing on them. I hope everyone will be mindful of safety and avoid the risk of falls.

Chunkun Mountain is quite large, a great place to escape the summer heat with fresh air. Taking the sightseeing bus saves a lot of energy and time, as the main attractions and entertainment are all located at the sightseeing bus station. The mini-train is rather impractical; it only travels a short section parallel to the sightseeing bus route, and it's quite slow, returning the same way after a 20-minute ride. I don't recommend taking it.

Driving there is very convenient; the attraction is a short walk from the highway exit, and the parking lot is large and convenient. The attraction itself isn't large, but a guided tour is highly recommended (it costs 100 yuan). It's not the kind with headphones, but a speaker. Fortunately, other people can listen in. The entire museum and the buildings outside the old city can be explained in about 30 to 40 minutes. Climbing the White Pagoda round trip takes about an hour; we didn't climb it because we had children and elderly people with us. The scenery is beautiful; highly recommended!

Saihantala Grassland in Baotou. Saihantala (meaning "beautiful grassland" in Mongolian), a national 4A scenic area and Asia's largest original ecological grassland within a city, is located in the main urban area of Baotou. Tens of thousands of acres of grassland are embedded in the city, with high-rise buildings and grassland forming a unified view, earning it the title of Baotou's urban green lung and a city landmark. • Area: Approximately 10,680 acres (712 hectares), with a main ring road about 10 kilometers long. Admission is free, and it is open all day. A visit of 3-4 hours is recommended. • Location: Located within the city, easily accessible by subway and bus, allowing you to experience grassland scenery without long journeys. Must-see attractions: 1. Unique landscape: A blend of pristine sparse forest grassland, four sandy river wetlands, reed marshes, and red willow forests. Free-range cattle, sheep, deer, rabbits, and migratory birds roam the park. Scenes of grazing cattle and sheep are commonplace, and the viewing platform offers panoramic views of the grassland meadows and the city skyline. 2. Feed the deer at the Sacred Deer Park – a family-friendly activity; Walk clockwise around Aobao Mountain three times for blessings, experiencing a strong atmosphere of prayer flags; Cycle around the lake, stroll along the wetland boardwalk, or choose a sightseeing bus; Horse riding, archery, and enjoy authentic Mongolian cuisine like hand-pulled mutton and milk tea in a yurt; Regularly held folk activities include Aobao worship ceremonies and equestrian performances. 3. Important Notes: The park is large, and walking alone takes a long time; most people rent bicycles. There is no mandatory spending. Locals often come for camping, picnics, and leisure exercise. The scenery is distinct in all four seasons, with summer being the best time to visit due to its lush greenery. You can also rent a shared bicycle outside; a 10km ride is very comfortable, and watching the beautiful grassland sunset is quite pleasant and romantic. Both above-ground and underground parking are convenient.

Most of the northern landscapes lack flowing water, but Nanhai Wetland Park fills this gap. Although there are many tourists during the May Day holiday, it does not feel crowded when entering the scenic park. The reeds by the water, accompanied by the sea breeze, blow on people's faces. Yachts or speedboats in the water, accompanied by flying seabirds, form a scene of water and sky in one color.
