Built by the Portuguese in 1612, Fort Aguad is worth visiting among the remaining Portuguese castles in Goa. Nowadays, local Indian tour groups are often encountered here. Walk through the ruins of the moat to the top of the mountain, overlooking the surrounding coast. There is a lighthouse nearby, you can get a better view if you climb it up, but it is usually only open in the afternoon. There is also a prison below the castle, which is one of the filming locations of many Indian movies, but it is not open.
