An absolutely amazing experience. Although there were quite a few people on the experience it never felt rushed or overcrowded. Everything was done in a very calm way that suited the elephants. It was explained that they may not want to interact with you and nothing felt “forced”. We were very lucky that the elephants seemed genuinely happy during the mud bath and especially when scrubbing them afterwards with the brushes. Our elephant “Anna” was 61 and apparently could be a bit grumpy but she happily pushed her trunk to you for extra scrubbing if you stopped 😂 Walking into the river with them was a wonderful experience and they definitely seemed to enjoy squirting us with water. On another note we were very happy to learn that the zoo has now stopped all elephant rides on ethical grounds and is only providing “on foot” experiences twice a day. All the elephants were ex logging elephants.

A wonderful zoo, with many animals, especially the initial ones that are open, and with two areas well connected by an internal shuttle. The terrace above the bar is also lovely, allowing you to admire everything from above. I got there easily with Gojek, so be wary of anyone who says it won't arrive.

This is the first time I've written a serious review on Ctrip, something I almost never do. I was initially worried about the price, but aside from a slight delay of over 20 minutes at the hotel because we hadn't coordinated pick-up time via WeChat, everything else was fantastic. The hotel provided hot coffee at the transfer station before the jeep ride up the mountain. Special praise to Nyoman and his granddaughter! Our group of six traveled in two cars, and despite the heavy rain the night before, Nyoman drove very steadily. Upon arrival, he meticulously took many beautiful photos of us, checking each one carefully to ensure it looked good. We also witnessed breathtaking volcanic rock formations, marveling at the wonders of nature. A truly satisfying trip! We were so happy! Everyone tipped us at the end. ^_^
