It snowed with grade 4 wind. Visibility is poor even at Erdaobaihe. Hence all activities at Changbaishan are closed. Out of 10 activities only the Rime rafting and 1172 event can be fulfilled. The travel agent couldn't find enough experienced driver for us. We had the replacement driver who knows almost nothing of the attractions. I am glad I asked for suggestions of other activities, the driver is helpful and pleasing, he contacted the travel agent and recommended a few other activities for us, such as the ATV ride in the snow forrest, flying ride to view the Changbaishan and others as well. Of all, we really enjoyed the Rime rafting, our favourite, and ATV ride. Thank you for the doing your best. We received the agreed refund as detailed in the itinerary through Trip.com. I feel that Changbaishan is better view in Spring or Summer. Winter stands lesser chance due to the weather. With >Grade 3 wind speed, the Heaven Lake is closed. Other activities nearby are worth the trip.

This small group car tour from Yanji to Changbai Mountain, booked through Ctrip, was a perfect experience! The driver was professional and enthusiastic, not only informing us of safety precautions beforehand but also introducing the local customs and culture along the way, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere in the car. Most fortunately, we encountered the first day of Tianchi Lake's reopening in winter after multiple closures due to severe weather! The lake was completely covered in snow and ice, pristine and serene, like a piece of white jade inlaid among the mountains, shimmering with a cold and sacred luster under the sunlight—a truly breathtaking sight. Therefore, we stayed until the very last minute before closing time, arriving back at nearly 6 pm, when it was completely dark. However, the driver remained waiting in the biting cold wind, providing exceptionally thoughtful service. Encountering Tianchi Lake in the dead of winter was already lucky; having a reliable driver throughout the journey made us feel incredibly safe. Absolutely highly recommended!

When purchasing tickets, I asked customer service if they would help me buy rain gear or raincoats for rainy days. They said I needed to bring my own. Our tour guide, a young woman, was very attentive; she helped me buy raincoats on the day of the tour, patiently explaining the pictures and attractions. In contrast, I didn't hear any explanations from other large tour guides. The night before, she also double-checked my hotel accommodations and picked me up early the next morning. Unfortunately, it rained and was foggy on the mountain that day, limiting the number of attractions I could visit. I didn't want to get wet anymore, and my shoes were already soaked, so I just wanted to get down the mountain as soon as possible. Thankfully, the fog cleared when I descended, and the Tianmen Cave appeared for about 10 minutes when I reached the square, making the trip worthwhile. Going up the mountain in the rain was wet and cold, which was quite unpleasant, but the ethereal scenery had a unique charm.

A truly wonderful trip to Tianmen Mountain. The tour guide was excellent, and the chosen route was superb! It basically covered all the attractions in the Tianmen Mountain scenic area, and the route itself was almost entirely hilly, making it very comfortable. The explanations of each attraction were very detailed, making even this second-time visitor to Tianmen Mountain thoroughly enjoyable. There were no shopping stops or hidden costs throughout the trip. The time allocation was also reasonable, accommodating both travelers with ample time and those who wanted a more leisurely experience. A very enjoyable trip indeed.

The group consisted of four people. We departed around 7:30 AM and arrived at the hotel around 6:30 PM. The car was comfortable, and the driver, Xiao Du, was very enthusiastic, providing detailed explanations and even giving us a snack bag. The only downside was the heavy rain; my pants and shoes got completely soaked, which dampened my spirits a bit. 😂
