▲ Konigssee is the deepest lake in Germany, located 5 km south of the small town of Berchtesgaden on the German-Austrian border. This long and narrow picturesque lake is surrounded by mountains, with its slender shape resembling the fjords of Northern Europe. Renowned for its emerald-green and crystal-clear waters, it is considered one of Germany's cleanest and most beautiful lakes.

▲ The best time to visit is during summer when towering mountains covered in lush greenery flank both sides of the lake, presenting a paradise-like scenery. In winter, many scenic views become inaccessible due to weather constraints, but when it snows, the silver-clad landscape offers a uniquely charming experience. The ideal way to explore this lake is by boat tour. To strictly protect water quality, all operating boats here are either electric-powered or manually rowed.

▲ Departing from Königssee Seelände pier, the cruise makes three stops: Kessel, St. Bartholomä, and the final destination Salet. For better views, it's recommended to sit on the right side during departure and on the left side during return. Disembarking at the second stop, St. Bartholomä, allows you to visit the beautiful red-roofed St. Bartholomew's Church. At the final stop, a short walk leads to the inner lake Obersee and Röthbach Waterfall. For a panoramic view of the lake, ascend Jenner Mountain (Jennerbahn) located on its eastern side. From the summit, you can admire the entire lake along with the picturesque town of Berchtesgaden and the Alpine landscape in the distance.
