Sayram Lake, nestled between the Tianshan Mountains in Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, is known as "the last tear of the Atlantic Ocean." A national 5A-level scenic area, it is Xinjiang's highest and largest alpine cold-water lake, with an elevation of over 2,000 meters.
