Buckingham Palace
Originally constructed between 1703 and 1705 and subsequently expanded multiple times, it now serves as both the official workplace and residence of the British monarch in London, as well as the administrative headquarters of the royal family. It remains one of the few royal palaces still in use worldwide today. Buckingham Palace, alongside iconic British landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, and the red double-decker buses, stands as a symbol of London and the entire United Kingdom. The palace is a neoclassical-style square courtyard building with five main floors, housing over 700 rooms including state rooms, music rooms, banquet halls, and galleries. The grand front gate features magnificent golden iron railings with solemn decorations, where famously immobile guards stand watch. Outside the railings in the square stands a statue of Queen Victoria holding a scepter, sculpted in the image of an angel. The surrounding expansive royal gardens exemplify classic English landscape design. The main entrance faces northeast, connected to Trafalgar Square via The Mall.
Embark on a breathtaking tour of the official residence of British monarchs since 1837. Open for only 8 weeks each year, visiting the State Rooms is an opportunity not to be missed! Marvel at the splendor of the rooms where the King entertains guests on formal occasions. The magnificent Ballroom and Throne Room will dazzle you, then conclude your royal experience with a stroll through the stunning South Gardens.
