I visited Sanxingdui on my birthday, which coincidentally is the same year the major discovery was made (1986)! It was an incredible experience. The museum perfectly showcases the mysterious Shu civilization, with its one-of-a-kind bronze figures and captivating gold masks. The artifacts are so different from other ancient Chinese cultures, making you wonder about their origins. A truly unforgettable and mind-blowing place.

Today's trip was wonderful. At the Red Panda Forest Park, we could quietly observe the red pandas, and the keepers carefully explained their daily lives. We even gave carrots to the lively and adorable raccoons. The cold-water fish for lunch was freshly caught and delicious. In the afternoon, we were free to relax, sitting by the river and brewing tea. Our driver, Mr. Zhang, is excellent; he always arranged the best pick-up locations for us. Our family had a very happy and relaxing time. Thank you, driver Mr. Zhang!

It’s a great trip~ though the weather was cloudy and slight rainfall when we went to Dujiangyan so I will go another time for a better view. The guide is friendly, we covered many places for Dujiangyan part. English guided recordings was provided for me during Sanxingdui Museum. Dujiangyan is by the Chinese-speaking guide. Personally, this package is rare and glad to cover the last two places I want to explore in Chengdu. On another note, please note that at my time, I would need to chip another CNY135 for lunch which is hearty and delicious and for the sightseeing cars etc. Overall, it’s a wonderful experience for me. It would be nice if more English speaking guides for Dujiangyan as it’s amazing to see how the human intervention could lead to control the water flow to prevent floods and droughts and to ensure sufficient irrigation throughout the plains.


