I arrived at 6:30 in the morning and picked up my ticket at Terminal 1. I was a bit taken aback because the first booth I saw was open from 10:40. However, as other people have reviewed, when I got to the MRT, there was a booth with a staff member who spoke English well. The MRT design was also really pretty. Haha, I received it safely.★

I took advantage of this 15% discount on Taiwan High Speed Rail tickets, available exclusively to foreign tourists, to travel from Taipei Station to Taichung Station. You can purchase tickets using this app and reserve your seat on the Taiwan High Speed Rail website. I wanted to sit next to my friend, so I went to the ticket counter without reserving a seat. I was told, "Please reserve your seat first. We can change it after that." However, this is possible if there are seats available to change to. I got used to sitting next to each other on the outbound flight, but on the return flight, the seat was fully booked and I couldn't change! I hope this helps!
