Zhalong Ecotourism Area

Zhalong Ecotourism Area is located over 30 km southeast of Qiqihar city. It is one of the world's largest reed wetlands and the homeland of red-crowned cranes. The red-crowned crane is an endangered bird species, with fewer than 2,000 remaining worldwide. From March to October each year, about 400 red-crowned cranes migrate to Zhalong Wetland near the observation deck for breeding and resting. Here, visitors can admire the graceful figures of these cranes—either soaring in flight or wading through reeds in search of food. Every year, numerous photography enthusiasts come to capture these beautiful scenes. The crane flight training is a signature attraction of the scenic area, with approximately 20-30 red-crowned cranes participating in each session. You'll see a group of red-crowned cranes in the distance begin their takeoff run and flight under the guidance of handlers waving poles, circling briefly in the air before returning to the training area. Since the training area is some distance from the crane observation deck, photography enthusiasts should prepare telephoto lenses to capture spectacular shots. In addition to red-crowned cranes, you can also spot rare birds like Siberian cranes, hooded cranes, white-naped cranes, and demoiselle cranes here. The red-crowned crane flight training lasts only about 2 minutes, so be sure to arrive early. June to September is the best time to observe cranes, as there are more red-crowned cranes during this period. Some red-crowned cranes no longer migrate, so you can still see a few cranes in winter, though rarely. The reserve is a reed wetland with crisscrossing waterways, scattered lakes and marshes, and long wooden boardwalks built over the water. The attraction is quite large, and a full visit usually takes half a day. From the entrance to the crane observation area, there is a long stretch that can be covered by shuttle bus. The round-trip fare is CNY 10 per person. Board directly after ticket inspection and get off in front of the reception hall, then walk 2 km (about 30 mins) to reach the flight training platform. Upon arrival at the attraction, it is advisable to check the flight training schedule first. If pressed for time, you can take electric bikes directly to the terminal station, then walk approx. 20 minutes to the crane release boardwalk to await the flight training. In case of special weather conditions (such as strong winds, rain, high temperatures, or other force majeure factors), the flight training may be less effective or canceled. You can also take a cruise (CNY 50 per person, approx. 20 minutes) through the reed marshes within the attraction, with the terminal point at the crane release boardwalk.China · Qiqihar

The Palace Museum of the Manchurian Regime is a cultural tourism landmark in Changchun that combines the dual attributes of "museum + attraction". It is currently a national first-class museum, a key cultural relics protection unit, one of the first batch of national AAAAA tourist attractions, a national patriotic education demonstration base, a national research and practice education base for primary and secondary schools, one of China's "most innovative museums", and an influential project unit of the International Council on Monuments and Sites. The Palace Museum of the Manchurian Regime is located at No. 5 Guangfu North Road, Kuancheng District, Changchun, Jilin Province. It was originally the Changchun salt warehouse in the late Qing Dynasty and later served as the official office of the Jilin-Heilongjiang Salt Tax Bureau during the early Republic of China. From 1932 to 1945, it was the imperial residence of Puyi, the puppet emperor of the Manchurian regime. In 1962, it became the Exhibition Hall of Imperialist Aggression in Northeast China and later the Exhibition Hall of the Manchurian Regime Palace. In 2000, it was officially renamed the Palace Museum of the Manchurian Regime, becoming an important site for patriotic education. In recent years, the Palace Museum of The Manchurian Regime has embraced the vision of "becoming a pioneer in innovative operations among China's museums and attractions." Through its development strategy focusing on academic excellence, creative revitalization, innovation-driven growth, and open sharing, it has achieved leapfrog progress in various operations and overall enhancement in museum management. The museum integrates six functional areas: the imperial core zone, the exhibition hall of northeast China's occupation history, the museum eye art palace, the M+ creative block, the interactive experience zone, and the administrative area. The palace museum of the Manchurian regime currently has 39 original displays of the Manchurian court including the Jixi building, Qinmin building, and Tongde hall, along with 4 large-scale permanent exhibitions and 12 thematic exhibitions. It has saved over 73,000 art pieces, including a large collection of Manchurian court relics, Japanese modern artifacts, northeastern China modern artifacts, folk relics, representative modern paintings and calligraphy, sculptures, and works by intangible cultural heritage inheritors.China · Changchun

Wow! Be mindful of the season when visiting the island. This park isn't primarily for tourists; it's more popular with locals and residents. The weather is very important when you go, so make sure to check the weather forecast carefully, as it can get a little chilly. The park itself is quite large and has a Russian theme. The town also has a panda enclosure, which costs extra. The pandas are very cooperative; there are two in total, and they're incredibly cute. If it's not too crowded, the experience is fantastic.

The shuttle bus ticket is a must-buy because the main gate is really far away. It seems like it's essential, especially since you have to walk a long way after getting off the shuttle. There's a speedboat that goes directly there, but it's unnecessary. Although the walk is tiring, the scenery is beautiful, and you can see several red-crowned cranes strolling along the roadside every now and then.

Definitely worth a visit! Highly recommend the Polar Pavilion (six main pavilions, showcasing a wide variety of polar animals, including polar bears, Arctic wolves, Antarctic penguins, sea lions, meerkats, capybaras, flamingos, raccoons, etc.). Impression: Feminine friendly (specifically, there's an emergency phone number in the women's restroom). My unexpected period caused weakness, but thankfully, staff provided free sanitary napkins – a lifesaver! Thank goodness! Suggested improvement: Replace scented sanitary napkins with unscented ones. Many people experience allergic reactions to these, making the discomfort worse.

It's worth visiting both day and night, but the best time to go inside is during the day when there are musical performances. At night, enjoy the exterior lights. The entire square is quite beautiful, but at night, the lights of the surrounding buildings seem too bright, overshadowing the church and creating a sense of intrusion.

There is a European-style square, and many movies and TV series are filmed here! The famous TV series Cliff has many shots and scenes shot here. There is also some modern cultural atmosphere here, I guarantee you will not regret coming here!

I found out from an online search that the top spot on the Changchun night view rankings is actually the Changchun Zoo and Botanical Garden. The night tickets are more expensive than the day tickets, so I was curious and decided to check it out. Entry starts at 4:30 pm, and the welcoming dance is very lively. The park is themed around Journey to the West, and with the lighting effects, it feels like a lantern festival. The park has stages in many places for various performances and interactions with visitors. It was my first time visiting a zoo and botanical garden and I didn't see any animals because they had already finished their get off work hours at night.

Summer vacation is almost here! Southern friends, come to Harbin! Harbin, the "Oriental Paris," exudes a European atmosphere everywhere you look. Walking along Central Street is like stepping into another country, with Russian-style buildings lining both sides. You can even find Russian cuisine to enjoy. Come and experience it!

The entire scenic area is quite large. It's recommended to allow 2 hours for the Imperial Palace Museum, and the outer area also includes the Northeast Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall and the M+ Park. Therefore, it's advisable to allow at least 3 hours for the entire scenic area.

"First came Fujia Dian, then Harbin." During the Qianlong era, immigrants from within the Great Wall gradually settled in Harbin. Later, more people migrated to Northeast China, and the Daowai area gradually became a bustling hub for daily life and commerce. In the early 20th century, with Tsarist Russia's ambition to plunder Northeast China's resources, the construction of the Chinese Eastern Railway began, gradually forming a Chinese Baroque architectural complex with a "Western style outside, Chinese style inside." However, upon closer inspection, the exterior wall reliefs do not depict Western angels, but rather pomegranates, bats, peonies, and toads—symbols of many children, blessings, wealth, and peace—truly reflecting the deep-seated cultural confidence of Chinese merchants.
