Excellent tour with a pickup from Hambantota Port. Our driver, Ganesh, was excellent at describing the wildlife with an incredible ability to spot and point out birds, even the smallest ones, from great distance and then position us for the best photo-taking opportunity. We saw lots of Blue Tail Bee Eaters, Brahminy Kites, eagles, Painted Storks, egrets, herons, kingfishers, lapwings and much more. We were lucky to see a mother elephant and her baby twice during the trip, close enough to carefully observe their feeding habits. We saw black-faced monkeys, a Macaque monkey, a mongoose, plenty of monitor lizards, turtle swimming in the ocean and the beautiful scenery of the park and wetlands. Fresh fruit was provided for a relaxing stop on the clifftops overlooking the sea - all possible because of the experience of our driver. On the way to and from the park we were driven in air conditioned comfort by Tharindu‘s careful, safe driving. Great tour, but priced on the high side. Still A+++

Prompt pickup for a morning drive into Bundala Park. Excellent quality/condition of safari jeep. Driver was very professionally friendly, also very knowledgeable about the area and birds sharing information as we were driving to the gate. Excellent time had with no rushing around and an intuitive understanding of spending time observing but knowing when to move on. Some of the roads within the park are a bit rugged but our driver really handled the vehicle extremely well, no rough treatment. Had a great volunteer guide with us. Totally enjoyed our safari.

Our morning safari was an awesome experience from start to end. We expected to see some wildlife but definitely not seeing almost all the wildlife in this national park. Elephants, monkeys, tons of birds, mammals, sloth bear, wild cat, reptiles... Our guide Udayanga was really professional, explaining and naming everything we saw, driving smoothly and safely, leading us away from crowded roads very fast. He is also a very good human, passionate about the wildlife and respectful. We saw a lot of crazy other tours driving people around without any concern of the surrounding and the wildlife, ready to do everything to get them a good picture. But at the end with the patience and perfect behaviour of Udayanga we saw exactly the same, everytime in a good spot and in a more peaceful way. ස්තූතියි 🙏

A pretty good tour. But read the description carefully, because you have to pay a separate entrance fee to enter the park. There was a whole traffic jam for the leopard, and it was sleeping in the branches, so you could only see a small part of the animal.


