The tour with Sam of the Elephanta Caves was excellent. The statues carved into the mountain inside the cave are spectacular. More than 1600 yrs old.★

Hour long ferry ride with Shuaib to the island, short ride on a mini train to the caves and tour with a local. Both were very attentive and fun to talk to. I went on a group tour (which was only one more traveler) and felt completely safe, no awkward situations whatsoever as a woman traveling alone. Shuaib took very good care of us including bottled water or sodas. Make sure you text the tour operator on Whatsapp a day or so before to confirm hotel pickup or any other accomodations.
