The English Lake District
Located in the northwest of England, it is one of the UK's national parks, featuring 16 lakes and has been named by National Geographic as "one of the 50 places to visit in a lifetime."
As the most stunning scenic area in central England, also hailed by National Geographic as "one of the fifty places worth visiting in a lifetime", it was naturally a must-see. This time we visited Windermere Lake, the most representative attraction in the Lake District, along with several nearby towns along the route.
Windermere Lake was also a filming location for "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." Unlike Edinburgh, the Lake District must be visited on a sunny day to fully appreciate its breathtaking scenery. With brilliant sunshine, layered mountains in the distance, fairytale-like towns, and the most quintessentially British countryside views, it creates the most enchanting landscape of lakes and mountains.
Keswick Town Circular Route (approximately 80 km)
Morning: Keswick Town + Pencil Museum
- The town is full of artistic vibes, and the Pencil Museum is super fun, perfect for families with kids~
Noon: Picnic at Derwentwater
- Find a quiet spot by the lake and enjoy homemade sandwiches and coffee~
Afternoon: Castlerigg Stone Circle
- Mysterious ancient ruins, perfect for atmospheric photos!
Evening: Return to Keswick and explore the town market
