It was such a pleasant trip! The customer service was very patient in explaining everything. After placing my order, I received an email informing me to wait at my hotel reception at 6:45 AM. The driver would pick me up and take me to the bus pick-up point to the left of the opera house. The customer service representative would call my name from the electronic list. Throughout the trip, the tour guide provided explanations, and I used a translation app to translate everything simultaneously. Even if you don't speak English, it wasn't a problem. As long as you knew the pick-up point and the meeting time, and confirmed with the tour guide again, you could relax and enjoy the trip while taking photos.

This half day tour is a great and convenient way to visit Hallstat. It is of course more expensive than taking the train or public bus+ferry to get to Hallstat, but it is certainly a time-saver. It's essentially a direct bus trip to Hallstat with a bit of commentary of interesting places that we passed and some history. Once you reached Hallstat, you will go around on your own for about 2.5 hours and the bus will come to pick up at a certain time. The 1.5 hours ride is comfortable and there's a power point at your seat if you need to charge your phone.

It is a two-tier excursion. First one was fine but we felt under-informed (at the Hallstatt stop it was suggested by the guide to get on ferry across the lake, only to find out that ferry left some time ago, as scheduled, and next one for the same trip would not make it back before bus leaves). Guide was average, ride was great. Second part of the trip, Sound of Music Tour, was excellent, thanks to the perfect guide, Callie, who knew everything about movie, actors and places. She lives for the SoM. Going with Callie on the tour is a treat and you will be very lucky to get on her bus. 5 stars!


