Me and my family took an army duck tour last sunday and we had a really good time. We would like to compliment your new guide Mark. He had really good and interesting comments about nature and wildlife that made the tour fun and enjoyable. We also loved other activities in Kuranda, like the Pamagirri Aboriginal experience. We learned how to throw a boomerang and we enjoyed the presentation of Aboriginal coulture. The scenic Railway had some really good views and the train to Cairns was most enjoyable. Easy to book with lots of options to suit your needs. We chose the transfer and snorkelling gear package. Just be mindful that you mind have to pick up the gear from other boat before heading to the one that will take you to the island. If you have a big family and kids, it might be problematic to take all of this stuff with you and walk to the boat. The boat was packed and we struggled to find a place to sit with all of this stuff, and had to seat separately. Apart from that the experience was great, the island is beautiful and you can see the reef and all the sea life. The beach itself is covered in washed away corals, which is beautiful but you might need coral shoes or crocs to make it easier to walk. You can also hike up the mountain or Nudey beach and the view and water is stunning. The food and water are pricey but you take take it with you from land.
