Reviews: The Scotch Whisky Experience Guided Whisky Tour - An Introduction to Whisky
Guest User2026-01-11
The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh is well worth a visit. For £40, you’re guided through a series of immersive rooms that explain the history of Scotch whisky and the process behind how it’s made, from production to maturation. The experience is informative without being overwhelming and is presented in an engaging, easy-to-follow way. The highlight comes at the end with a guided tasting of several different whiskies, which adds a hands-on element to everything you’ve just learned. Overall, it felt like good value for the price, and I’d happily do it again or recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
Reviews: 1-day tour to Loch Ness + Glen Coe + Scottish Highlands from Edinburgh, UK - small group or large group options

I booked the tour during the Chinese New Year holiday, and the tour consultants, May and Angel, patiently answered all my questions and helped me arrange the itinerary. I'm very grateful. To be honest, the one-day Scottish Highlands tour was indeed too rushed; a three-day tour would definitely have been a better experience. The nearly 12-hour round trip by car was really tiring; I even got carsick for the first half and almost threw up. However, the tour guide was also very good. I think it's amazing that she, a woman, could drive all day and talk non-stop. She was also very friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive, answering all my questions promptly. Since the itinerary didn't include a Loch Ness boat trip, we bought the tickets from her later. Actually, the boat trip was quite boring; the main attraction of a road trip is the scenery along the way. We were also very lucky to encounter a bright, sunny day in the Scottish Highlands during winter, with extremely high visibility. The combination of a bright, sunny day and snow-capped mountains is truly rare. The tour guide kept praising us for being so lucky to have such great weather.
Reviews: Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and Pitlochry Tour

Amazing tour with the Hairy Coo tour company. The guide was just amazing! Never have I ever met such knowledgeable person who can so utterly captivate with their storytelling abilities. I came to Scotland with very vague understanding of the Scottish history, especially considering the Jacobite history. After this tour I've finally gathered a lot of valuable information. Also this tour is considered the longest of day tours among others, so be prepared for it. However, you travel on a big comfortable bus and can easily observe the High Lands en route with a lot of stops for sightseeing in different locations. I absolutely recommend this tour and tour company.
Reviews: The Chocolatarium Chocolate Tour Experience in Edinburgh
Guest User2025-12-01
Our tour guide, Kristie was amazing. Really engaging and knew her stuff about the chocolate. We opted for some of the Christmas moulds to make our own chocolate but you could also still use the usual mould if you wanted to. There was the option to make either milk or dark chocolate, no white option I'm afraid. However, there was plenty of opportunity to try some white chocolate, and lots more chocolate after. Book ahead as it gets booked up quickly. For the cost it is great value for money with opportunities to buy your favourites in the shop after.
