For me I was given too much detailed history of the country before we even walked anywhere. It was a lot to process all in one go. The tour got more interesting as we visited parts of the city. It was a shame that we were taken to eg. St Paul’s cathedral and couldn’t get inside due to the 6pm mass. Timing of tour should be better. Or leave it out. Listening to the tour guides own mother’s experience of how being ruled under communism affected her daily life was fascinating. I much prefer to hear this type of information as I probably wouldn’t find this on the internet or in a book.★

We had a wonderful evening at this folk show showcasing Albanian cultural traditions. It was both entertaining and enriching. Dinner introduced us to Albanian cuisine in a seven-course meal. A must-do!★

You are with a small group during the tour. I would recommend this if you are interested in Albanian history. The trip was informative, some people were more interested than others. It can be hard to herd everyone.
