A fantastic hike with stunning views and very friendly guides who shared a wealth of information about the volcano and local Maori customs. They made the trip a truly wonderful experience. Sliding down the lava rocks into the crater was especially fun. A head for heights is recommended for this tour, and a reasonable level of fitness is also required for the route. All in all, a nice little adventure.

Omg Rylie our tour guide you are a wonderful lady. You sincerely enjoy your work. It shows. Myself n uk couple reckon we’ve found the next comedian to be on stage. 😂 loved your sense of humour and it was the best time. Thoroughly enjoyed the arvo.

Great museum with very good explanations of the eruption and aftermath. Well signed and informative walk of the old village site and waterfalls. Good cafe with excellent coffee and snacks.
