It was a great day. Brian (our driver and guide) was top rate. His driving was flawless and that is saying something considering the narrow roads. He always made sure to stop his commentary when he needed to concentrate (a bit extra) with driving. And his commentary was very informative. He gave us so much interesting information along with fun stories, a brief lesson in Gaelic and a short song. I learned a lot today about my favorite country, Ireland. Mizen Head is spectacular and I loved driving through other villages and towns. Especially Clonakilty. What a charming place. Absolute value for the money.

Although the price per unit of the tour seems a bit high, some of the places on the itinerary are really difficult to see in one day using public transportation, so I personally think it's quite worthwhile. Important note! While Blarney Castle and Cassel Rock are beautiful, I don't think they're places you need to spend too much time at. Seeing all three in one trip was just the right amount of time – not too short, not too long at each place. However, the time spent in Cork city at the end was indeed a little short, which was a bit of a shame.

We ended up taking the full day tour, but glad in the end that we did as it would have been rushed otherwise. We were lucky to have a beautiful, sunny day for our tour and it was amazing from start to finish. We had lots of time at each stop to enjoy the sights and scenery. Our driver, Kevin, was great! His commentary was very informative, he gave us great food and drink recommendations and was very funny. We enjoyed the day immensely.


