Natural wonders and historical heritage
1. Ljuta River Gorge Hiking
A 30-minute drive from Dubrovnik takes you to the Ljuta River Canyon in the Konavle region, where you'll find preserved 16th-century watermill ruins and crystal-clear waters. Stroll along the riverside trail through centuries-old chestnut forests, cool off in natural swimming holes during summer, or admire the canyon's vibrant autumn foliage. Don't miss the reconstructed mill café serving local organic wine and olive oil.
2. Trsteno Botanical Garden
As one of the oldest botanical gardens in Europe, this site served as a filming location for "Game of Thrones" and houses over 400 rare Mediterranean plant species. Baroque fountains intertwine with century-old olive trees, creating a serene atmosphere—visit in the early morning to avoid tour groups. The garden features a viewing platform offering panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and Dubrovnik's Old Town.
3. Bellevue Beach Sunset
This secluded pebble beach surrounded by cliffs is famous for its crystal-clear waters and romantic sunsets. We recommend bringing snorkeling gear to explore the offshore coral reefs or enjoying a seafood dinner at the cliffside restaurant while taking in the unique "half ocean, half city" scenery.
